I mentioned changing it to DH. He said the 10% would only be $24, so he wants to just wait until 5 days and see how the flu is going, etc. We will just cancel outright if need be and stay on ship if we go to Cozumel. I agree that who knows what ports and when we'll go, so I'm leaving everything else as is (booked thru DCL).

Yep- we are definately waiting until a little closer- 10% of ours would about $16- so not a big deal.

I can't believe we are so close and all of this swine flu stuff is going on- just goes to show you never know what can happen. LOL

I'm a little concerned about booking that too, because I'm wondering if they will change the itinerary altogether- and we might even go on a different day. We may not go to either port, if I cancel I may cancel the whole thing and not rebook. I also may book through DCL- just in case. It also may be a good idea for us to look at other ports and see what excursions we might want to do- just in case they change itineraries at the last minute. Then we wouldn't have to figure it out along with everyone else on the ship.:thumbsup2

Never thought about that. I hope it gets figured out soon. :rolleyes1 I am not used to not having everything planned.

We're just taking a wait and see attitude at this point - not going to cancel or re-book excursions cause things can change so much in 6 weeks. It could be that the flu runs thru Mexico quickly and is essentially gone, but the rest of the Caribbean is hit - or the opposite, or Florida ends up being essentially shut down. We just don't know, but it sure is frustrating. I do know we'll be so upset to miss Cozumel - the dolphin encounter is what we are looking forward to the most!

I think we're going to pretty much do the same thing.:goodvibes

John said cancelling the Dolphin and losing the $24 would SAVE us $$ in the end (no taxi, no $$ for lunch, souvenirs). He's so PRACTICAL!

Well, I was going to call John cheap, but I was trying to refrain...;)

So, taxi for 5- $40
Lunch- $60
Cost of Dolphin Swim- $250
Souvenirs/shirts/DVD/pictures- $150
Snacks- $30

Swine Flu Could save me over $500! :rotfl:

Nikki or anyone else that has a good packing list, can you email it to me at triplefigs@bellsouth.net please? Especially since none of us have ever cruised on any ship. I really want to make sure I don't forget anything vital. I need to start collecting stuff. Thanks!

Actually Ben is my DH. Ok here is the news. Just before lunch, I had an email from my TA. DCL offered us an upgrade from a CAT 6 to CAT 4 for a small fee. I took it. (If you look online the price difference would be about $2,700) (so now there is another CAT 6 up for grabs) :goodvibes

My TA said that DCL gave her 24 hours for us to make a decision. So, that is why I think the assignments will be coming out probably tomorrow.
I wish my TA would call me with an offer for a small fee!!!!!

I know, right!!;) I just talked to my TA earlier- she said I may get my room assignment soon, and that I should keep checking the website for it, or if she gets it she'll call me.:goodvibes

OOOOHHH! My DIS friend (and personal buddy) MarciJ who cruises DCL all the time mailed me the 2009 Cruise Passporter today as a present!!! I am so excited!!!! Love her!

Me too please!

We booked all of our excursions thru Shoretrips. I don't know what to do. They did say if the ship don't go to the port that they would issue a 100% refund.

Really looking forward to GC - Stingray Swim and C - Dolphin Royal Swim, KW - Parasail.

One thing you'd not normally think to pack for vacation, a clock with a lighted dial. Last cruise I was on I was so glad someone told me that the clocks in the cabin are not illuminated. I can't imagine waking up in the cave and not knowing if it was noon or 1/2 after I'd fallen asleep!

Also I found helpful was one of those pop-up hampers, helped keep our cabin clean, then the last night I just stuffed all the dirty clothes back in the hamper.

To help pack light, for dinning, wear the same pants a couple of times you only stay in your dinning clothes for a few hours. wear a shirt to dinning room, then all the next day.

Good Afternoon everyone!!!
It has been an interesting day.... We were told that we have a mandatory Furlough as state employees and a decrease will be seen in our pay checks so far only for the month of May and June..... I am so glad Rob is now working:headache:

Being in Public Health also of course we got a bunch of guidelines to follow about the flu....

But besides that Hey tomorrow is HUMP day!!!!:woohoo:

And I still have not told my kids about the trip...sshhhhh!

One more tidbit...... on Friday Fieldtrip with DS Layne to Busch Gardens

Wow... the boards have been busy. That is what I get for not being able to check in at lunch. Had to renew my driver's license!

Jayde is scheduled for her ultrasound & I think we caught this early!! Hope for no stones ;).

I just tried reserving another spa treatment & I was unable to... updating the site?!?! :confused3 I already have a foot treatment scheduled for when Jayde is doing the Wild Side but wanted to look to see if they have other times available.

Looking forward to seeing who got what rooms!!

My mistake.... DCL site is fine ~ I guess they just don't want me to book a CC cabana massage. That's ok ~ with all the walking we will be doing my feet will love the treatment. This is usually my splurge on cruises.:cool1:
