6/13/2009 Western on Magic- Our Cruise Chat Continues!

I have to brag on DS. He went over a friend's house and there were 5 boys from his 6th grade school that got together. All are in the school band. Two played bass guitar, 2 on electric guitar and Ben on drums. They performed Rock you like a Hurricane by Scorpion. It sounded really good! This is just with a few hours of practice! We built a band room above our detached garage where Ben practices. Its a cool hangout, and its all finished out, carpeted and has AC. And its nice, cause I hear very little in the house! I think we have the makings of a rock band! :cool1:

Cool.

I love that song...wait am I showing my age. How do those boys know that one?:goodvibes

Ben first heard it on the Simpsons game for playstation, then listened to it on U Tube. One of the boys printed out the music from Guitar Pro. He likes alot of 80's music - AC/DC, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Queen. He also has Beatles, Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Johnnie Cash and Alan Jackson on his I-pod. I think his dad has really influenced his taste. :goodvibes

Good morning, everyone,

My co-worker just came over for a coffee chat -- he just got off the 7 night Western on Saturday - his first Disney cruise (2nd cruise overall). Him, his DW and DD (5). LOVED IT. He also gave me all of the Navigators to copy/review. Everything seems pretty much the same as what has been recently posted, though.

To note, on Tuesday mid-evening the floor of his room was wet but he figured his DD had spilled a drink. By morning it was sogging wet. Apparently a pipe in the wall was leaking and soaking the carpet. DCL said that they would move him - to another inside room (they booked a cat 11). He said, hey since it's our inconvenience can't you find something better.. so they put him in a Cat 6 balcony for the rest of the week. Now he's totally spoiled and wants to rebook a Cat 6.. until I showed him the actual price difference, even with a FL resident rate!

Said everything was great! He loved 2nd dining, even with the little one. They fed her first and sent her off to the kids club after a 1/2 hour. Loved Castaway Cay despite an overcast morning. Only walked off the ship in Nassau and went to the straw market and turned around again. (My thoughts, exactly, on Nassau.) Too much to tell, but he's in that glowing "when can we go again" post vacation stage!!!!

What room was it?? Makes me worry about mold! :scared1:

Does anyone happen to know the food served at Nachi Cocum? I have a picky eater and was just wondering.

Thanks!

Are you all packing beach towels or just using Disney's on and off the ship? I know they have them available on Castaway Cay, but I didn't know about on the excursions when we are swimming. Thanks. :confused3

When we were on our last cruise, they had bins of towels at the gang way when getting off the ship. We just used theirs.

DD wants to know if any of the other teens are dressing up for pirate night. She has a dress and some accessories that look good together, but she doesn't want to dress up if no other teens are. Not sure if my DS will. He is dressing up for formal night though in a suit. He actually enjoys dressing up! :goodvibes

My daughter (14) is going to dress up for pirate night. She has some red/black stripe material she is going to fashion into a skirt and we just bought a white "piratey" looking shirt.

And... the buy of the weekend, found daughter a little black dress at dress barn for 70% off! can't beat that.

Hello everybody....I'm still new to this posting stuff and I think I've tried to take in so much since booking my cruise in late April, that I haven't retained anything.

Would someone please give me the 101 on Nachi Cocum? I think I read about it on the Cozumel Port page, but I don't want to go back to the abyss!!

This will be our 1st DCL cruise and I'm taking my niece (20), DS 7 & DS 5. My friend and her husband are going with their DS 5. I thought about doing one of the all inclusive places at Cozumel but needed more info. Would this be a good place for the little ones? How do I book it in advance?

I know this has probably been answered a hundred times, so I apologize for being too lazy to do the research (again...I told you I didn't retain anything).

Thank you so much!!
