Oh goodness, that is good to hear. Hope everything will be ok! :)

Hey ya'll this is what the response I got from Fury:

You do not need to be on the boat with the teenagers but you will have to check them in and sign the release forms.

Should you decide to ride along and watch them fly the rider price is $10 ea., space available. You may decide whether to go along or not at the time of check in.

Thank you for choosing Fury,
Debbie

As for the stack... I read horror stories, but honestly, if your kids don't do things as I was told would/could happen at home they probably won't do it on the ship. We live in a very rural area... my dd goes to high school with 7-12 grade students & is used to the atmosphere. If she is uncomportable, she will leave. I think, thou, if there are enough that stick together they will be fine. Atleast I'm trying to convience myself of this! :)

I think you are right... I was a bit worried last year for Layne's first time being in the stack but he is a good kid and he mostly participated in all the activities.... Just be forewarned the best activities are always LATE LATE at night..... One night My Brother and I sat by the pool at 11:30 watching the crazy kids doing silly relay races in the Goofy Pool:rotfl: He had a blast and my brother was jealous because he missed being in the stack... He was 21 and the first time he cruised he was in the stack and thought it was awesome and still to this day remembers how much fun he had!!:thumbsup2

Hi everyone! We just got home from a GREAT day at Disneyland!

Here is a picture of Maddy and Alice. Fun times!

Disneyland5-8-09002.jpg

I hope everyone had a good day! I will catch up on the pages tomorrow am. Good night!

Steph ~ does everyone just want to pinch Maddy's cheeks? I promise I won't do it cuz I am not that old...

Looks like we have a good looking bunch of kids that are going to have a blast on this cruise. Seems like Jayde will be hanging out w/most of 13 & 14 yr olds @ the stack. Although, I know DisnelyPoly has a 15 & 16 yr old.

Hope everyone is well & has a great day!!

Aw, Maddy is so cute. She could be a "face character" just like Alice when she grows up (Brooklyn, too!)

Hopefully Jayde will enjoy being the "big sister" to all of the 13/14 year olds trying out their wings... It seems like all of the kids are what I call "good kids" so I don't anticipate any problems. Anyone ever been on a cruise with a group of rowdy teens who run up & down the stairs, push every button on the elevator, take plates of food they never eat and (worst of all) bang on doors in the middle of the night for fun? Ugh.

Sounds like our group of roving teens will be nothing like that!! :cloud9:

As far as the Fury is concerned Deb told me in no small language yesterday that the rider fee was space available and that I'd be bumped in a red hot minute if a parasailer (meaning more $) came along. If you want to guarantee that you will ride along with your spouse/child/etc you have to buy a full fare ticket. As I told her, "I wish my business was that good that I could tell guests, "yes, I'll take your business but if someone comes by that wants to buy more you are out of here!" In my mind it's like saying, "sure, I'll seat you for drinks & apps, but if someone comes in and wants to buy a big fat steak dinner you are history." I understand the profit motive, but......

DD asked me last night what an FE was... so I explained the full term... then she said "what the heck does a fish have to with it" so I pulled up some pictures... that was it. DD went off to the den where we have a couple of tupperwares full of craft materials for the many zillion school projects and dioramas and started away. I even had to pull out my sewing machine from the bottom of the bottom of the stack at 10:30pm for her use... don't know what she's up to but I suspect a Mother's Day present in the making. (PS - she did indicate that the trusty Singer was "ancient" which it most certainly is not, and perfectable servicable, so I knew that my normally snarky daughter hadn't suddenly turned into an angel as she interjected one of her usual comments about everything related to me being dinosaur-like...:rotfl:)

It's also 35 Days folks!!!! (less if you are traveling in early)

Now is the time in the program when I will try to:
:wishfive lose 5 lbs, 1 lb per week, so that I can eat whatever I want -- which I fully intend to do anyway -- without coming back all puffy. But then I realized as I was laying in bed this morning that I am absolutely no good at dieting because I hate getting hungry :rotfl2:.

We have a softball game this afternoon and it is going to be 95 degrees..

It is funny you say that because some stranger said that to me yesterday about Maddy. She said she could be Alice when she grows up! :lmao: Brooklyns goal in life right now is to be a character at Disney. :rotfl: Apparently going to DL a few times a month for the almost 8 years she has been on this earth has had some effect on her! :rotfl2: Alice is very special to us! We LOVE that girl!

As for not well behaved kids. I will be the first one complaining about rowdy kids. I will not put up with kids who will ruin my vacation! :sad2: It blows my mind just how poorly behaved children can be and their parents doing NOTHING about it!!! Our friends on the last cruise kept getting their magnets stolen from their door. Lucky enough their room steward found them in someone elses room while cleaning it. :scared1: He immediatly contacted his manager and guest services contacted the parents. Those kids were placed on a 24 hour lock down where they had to be with their parents at all times and were not allowed in the Stack! It was so upseting for the family bc every night at dinner they would come sad because stuff was missing, AGAIN! :sad2: Here's to hoping that we do not have any problems with any teenagers on our cruise! :flower3:

Oh boy! If anyone see my child misbehaving, please let me know! I don't think I have to worry, but one never knows!

I took your advice (stephanine) & put our names on all of our magnets in hopes that no one will take them! :)

there always seem to be group of kids-our last cruise it was the group around age 12-constantly on the elevators--running up and down the halls, knocking on doors and ringing the suite door bells. Someone even took a candy bar out of out FE-took a bite and put it back-UGH!.

Most often it seems to be the teens that are sitting in front of the elevators, leaving plates of uneaten food and carrying on like they need a motel room. I am a control freak parent-even now with Blake who is done with 3 years of college. I have a hard time not correcting other children, but try to bite my tongue. Brandon is always holding me back.

Blake always had a good bit of freedom on the cruises when he was in hs, but I was forever checking to see who he was with and what he was doing.

That's so cute, I wish Jordan would like the princesses a little more, she is such a tomboy!!

I think I'm going to write our names on the back too, I would not want someone to steal ours. I did personalize them with our names, though.

We are busy again this weekend. We had a recital meeting for Jordan's dance class last night. The dance studio she goes to is having a recital the Saturday before we leave for the cruise.:scared1:That means I will have 3 rehearsals the week before that, not counting that I start my new job that week too. They are doing Night at the Movies theme, there are 40 dances, she goes to a huge dance studio(tap, ballet, hip hop, jazz, etc)so it will be long. But the meeting was 2 hours long!! Her group is dancing to a song from Wall-E- they are going to be dressed like robots- so cute!!
Today- another birthday party and working on my mom's house.
Tomorrow- Mother's Day and working on my mom's house some more!:scared1:

Thank you!!! I didn't even think to check there! Of course, I'm the queen of procastination. :rotfl: I'll probably be picking up my FE gifts on the way to the port!

I think I might beat you on the procrastination thing!!! I haven't really gotten anything yet either!!! Yikes!!! :scared1: I like your idea of picking them up on the way to the port!! :rotfl:

Do Southwest Airlines peanuts make good FE gifts???:rotfl2: I am so uncreative. Hope a gift idea just hits me like a ton of bricks!!! Oh course, I could delegate to DD! She loves projects like that! :cutie:
Well, my friend came and picked up the dryer, and is even going to take the washer since he says he can rig it and seal up the leaks. He's going thru a divorce and could use them so feel good about helping out a friend. We do alot of bartering with him. He's a self employed electrician and my husband takes care of all the dental needs for him and his kids. So he takes care of all of our electrical needs. Its been great living in our small town. I do alot of bartering with my business and so does my DH. My hairdresser does all of our haircuts, and she in turn gets well stocked with kitchen tools, dishes, etc from my company.
Well. I'm off to appliance shop! Hope I can find some deals! :thumbsup2

I totally agree!!!
The last cruise we went on in November of 08 someone stole a magnet from my Dad & brother's door! It was beyond upsetting because it was a magnet in memory of my Mom (who died in July, she was suppposed to go with us on the cruise):sad1: Unfortunately it was never found:sad2: But I totally understand your point about rowdy kids and their parents floating around in their oblivious bubble, I mean of all the magnets on the door why steal that one, geez it said in loving memory and had a real pic of Mom on it!! Why would anyone else even want that, I thought it was a very mean spirited thing to do, kid or not. I wish people would control their kids a wee bit better too!!:thumbsup2

I had to jump back on because I got a DING from SW a few min ago. No specials for me there, but I rechecked my flights, and now our flights from Orlando to Baltimore are $49!!!! We fly out June 23rd! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: We saved another $30!!! Anyone flying SW, keep frequent checks on your flights, cause when they go down, and they frequently do, esp closer to the date, you get the money to hold as credit for a full year for a future flight! :yay:

What type of person/kid does that? That is worse than mean. I holds no meaning for the person taking it, and if someone thinks to steal a meaningful item from another is funny they are sick.

Our SW price went down twice early on-started out high, but is way up now, probably because so many flights on all airlines have been cut from here.

I would have to agree, my brother was very upset and mind you he's not a child he's 21! It was disheartening to say the least:sad2:

On a happier note SW dropped the price for an earlier flight making it the same price as our original later flight so now we are flying in even earlier :banana: Get the vacation started as soon as possible:woohoo:
