Ok so it has been a LONG day.

I finally went to the doctor for foot pain I have been having. The pain started on the top of my foot and now it is to the point that I can't put any weight on my right heel.

Well the bones in the top of my foot were fractured. No, I never went to the doctor. My heel looks like it will need to be operated on. An operation however does not fit into my schedule with our June trip and then the movers coming July 8th. Then our drive across country. Then moving into a new house and then school starting again.

For now I wear this aweful thing on my foot at night and orthotics in my shoes all the time....hummmm not sure how those will fit into my flip flops! LOL

If it is not one thing it is another....how long till vacation?????????????????

Me thinks the stair challenge is OUT for you! With everyone getting sick and falling apart, by the time we sail, it seems we're ALL going to need to be on Deck 1 near the Infirmary. I hope you feel better!

So sorry to hear! Do you remember injuring your foot? Did they say the fractures were displaced? Maybe you can get by with a cast for now to let it heal? I fractured my ankle when we were vacationing in Germany. It hurt pretty bad, but started getting "better" or so I thought, until I went back to work a week later and couldn't take the pain any more. I finally went to the doctor and was suprised when they told me it was fractured. They gave me a removable cast and therapy for 6 weeks. Hope surgery is not required for you! Sending you some pixie dust for a speedy recovery!

Thanks for this reminder. Ben and I just brainstormed and figure out what we will be doing for the gift at the DIS MEET. We are excited about. I can not wait until our sail date.

That is what I was thinking! I am determined to do the stairs!!! We shall see how much pain I am in by then!

The surgery would be to remove a ridiculously large bone spur. He has no idea who I lasted this long with it. I only walk on the front part of my foot right now bc I can't put any weight on my heal.

The fracture basically healed itself. not well but it healed itself.

good morning everyone!! I am a 5:30'er, too!!! I know this is silly but I am already thinking, "Gee, room service breakfast doesn't start until 7:00am!!" so either I have to go to deck 9 for some coffee (you really don't want to see it) ...

or since Room Service is 24 hours, can I change my hangtag to ask for 6am coffee?

for Stephanie: you need a vacation more than anyone! (also, remind me to ask you how you can take DD's out of school for a TA, or do you homeschool? I dream of a TA but will have to wait for DD to go to college)

for all: cut it out already and get healthy! no more kidney stones, bladder infections, broken anythings we need folks traipsing up and down those stairs burning off those Mickey Pop calories!

as far as the DisMeets gift which is being alluded to: just to clarify, our cabin needs to bring 1 (not 29) for a swap, correct? sort of like a white elephant Christmas gift swap, right?

Yes, that is what I think UNLESS you are involved in the FE exchange!

I think I will skip cleaning today & start on my FEs.... but like this much better although I don't drink straight coffee.

I just thought of something... How am I going to survive an entire week w/o my magic bullet blender??? Are we able to bring little things like that on board? I almost always have a protein shake in the morning & they are great for smoothies, frozen drinks, etc... Party in rm 7505!!!

Re: gift swap...I wouldn't mind participating with this, but I'm not sure if we will be able to make the meet. From what I read, DCL won't pick up at dolphin & swan until 12:00...until we get to port, ck in & get something to eat, 3:00 may come quicker than we realize. But, we will definitly try! Am I understanding that if you are not doing FE, you can still do this? And it is just one gift?

Ok for newer folks who were not on when we originally set up the meet...

The First DIS meet on Saturday will be a chance for everyone to put names to faces and then the entire cruise becomes quite fun as you see your familiar "dis neighbors" all week long. I am saying 3pm to meet but I understand people will be in AWE of the MAGIC and there will be plenty of time to get there please don't skip it even if you are running late. MANY MANY POSTS ago in a thread far away I became the organizer for this... No Worries just bring yourself and anyone in your family you want to drag along or leave them by the pool. I will have name tags up at the bar so we can put all the faces to names so please come see me as soon as you get there!!! IF you are a DISSER then you also will put your DIS ID on your name tag as well
No worries about he gift swap it will be a fun game that I will use for us to get to know each other and only 1 gift per family so if you have a few cabins it doesn't matter because your 1 gift for the meet exchange represents your traveling party.....
If you have any other questions please ask ask ask but really just come come come!!!

Yes PLEASE join in!!!!! The FE has nothing to do with our first DIS meet... I will be announcing some things at the meet regarding some group plans and other stuff. The gift swap will be close to the end so if people are running late then they have some time to catch their breath!!!
Last time I came a little late (I was not the organizer) and still was able to have a few minutes to chat before the meet was over so it is worth it.... again if you are running behind it is ok we just want to GREET ya!!!
