Yes PLEASE join in!!!!! The FE has nothing to do with our first DIS meet... I will be announcing some things at the meet regarding some group plans and other stuff. The gift swap will be close to the end so if people are running late then they have some time to catch their breath!!!
Last time I came a little late (I was not the organizer) and still was able to have a few minutes to chat before the meet was over so it is worth it.... again if you are running behind it is ok we just want to GREET ya!!!

Just a reminder -- this DisMeet Swap gift SHOULD BE brought in your CARRY ON BAGS... if you check them there is only a slim chance that you will have your luggage at your stateroom by 3pm.

But a clarification on the location -- back, many many pages ago, it said "The Promenade".. now you are referencing a BAR (hello sailor, um, I mean, Pirate). Please clarify for Magic newbies.

Re: gift swap...I wouldn't mind participating with this, but I'm not sure if we will be able to make the meet. From what I read, DCL won't pick up at dolphin & swan until 12:00...until we get to port, ck in & get something to eat, 3:00 may come quicker than we realize. But, we will definitly try! Am I understanding that if you are not doing FE, you can still do this? And it is just one gift?

For those of you that are staying at the Swan and Dolphin the night before, you should consider hiring a service for a van that holds several of you and luggage (your very own DIS van! ). That way you could get to the port earlier. And it would be less expensive than the DCL transportation if there are enough of you. I would coordinate it but we are staying by the airport, and have rented a minivan for the 5 of us. We may even get up extra early to watch the shuttle launch if it goes. I think DS esp would love to see it!
There are also 10 passenger van rentals with the car rental agencies, and anything in between. I posted a code awhile back - got the minivan with all taxes for $69.

Ok so it has been a LONG day.

I finally went to the doctor for foot pain I have been having. The pain started on the top of my foot and now it is to the point that I can't put any weight on my right heel.

Well the bones in the top of my foot were fractured. No, I never went to the doctor. My heel looks like it will need to be operated on. An operation however does not fit into my schedule with our June trip and then the movers coming July 8th. Then our drive across country. Then moving into a new house and then school starting again.

For now I wear this aweful thing on my foot at night and orthotics in my shoes all the time....hummmm not sure how those will fit into my flip flops! LOL

If it is not one thing it is another....how long till vacation?????????????????

for Stephanie: you need a vacation more than anyone! (also, remind me to ask you how you can take DD's out of school for a TA, or do you homeschool? I dream of a TA but will have to wait for DD to go to college)

Yes school. No I don't school. She has a 15 hour travel time to get the work done on top of organized study halls that DISers organizer on board! Crossing the Atlantic and the places that you go are just so amazing. If the school gives me a hard time then I will just pull her out and put her on independent study for the month and we will extend the trip and visit London and Paris too!

My kids are younger so that makes it a little easier but to be honest even if she was older I would do it. It is an AMAZING vacation!!! Most people have not had a problem with schools either bc teachers think it is such an amazing experience. Usually requiring an extra paper or something to be written.

Yes, that is what I think UNLESS you are involved in the FE exchange!

I think I will skip cleaning today & start on my FEs.... but like this much better although I don't drink straight coffee.

I just thought of something... How am I going to survive an entire week w/o my magic bullet blender??? Are we able to bring little things like that on board? I almost always have a protein shake in the morning & they are great for smoothies, frozen drinks, etc... Party in rm 7505!!!

You will make it. I was worried about the same thing but when I did the math I figured out we could be there in time. I might be there in my life jacket however!!!!

Wow! You must have a high tolerance for pain! Hope it is better soon.

That is the first thing my husband said. I really do. It is kind of scary though bc I have been very hurt before and not known it.

With Brooklyn she was 9lbs 11oz. I made it till 8cm dialated before asking for any pain meds. I was fine till that point but when that HUGE baby was so ready to come out I needed the meds.

I think it would be perfect. You would save money and you would get to the ship earlier!

I'm sooo jealous! Larry wants to see the Shuttle up close and personal but I don't feel comfortable renting a car and driving down there not being familiar with the area. Getting up early to be down there is no problem it's the getting there from the Swan, that is my problem.

There are no more rooms avail at the Radisson to watch it from the beach either.

I even called KSC and they have passes that you can buy to watch the shuttle closer than anyone else. WOW that could be our 1st excursion

The only difference about the luggage is that you have to put it in your car to get there then when you arrive you drop your bags at the curb and the next time you see them will be your stateroom.

We are doing a gift exchange at the DIS Meet, different from the FE gifts. It is just 1 gift per family and should be something that represents where you are from.
