I am at the Country Inn and Suites. Will I be able to see the launch from the hotel?

It depends on what you mean by "see it"... you will see a HUGE FLASH/trail of light in the sky and what looks like a plane heading into the sky. It will not be the same as if you were at KSC in person, but still cool.

Yes school. No I don't school. She has a 15 hour travel time to get the work done on top of organized study halls that DISers organizer on board! Crossing the Atlantic and the places that you go are just so amazing. If the school gives me a hard time then I will just pull her out and put her on independent study for the month and we will extend the trip and visit London and Paris too!

My kids are younger so that makes it a little easier but to be honest even if she was older I would do it. It is an AMAZING vacation!!! Most people have not had a problem with schools either bc teachers think it is such an amazing experience. Usually requiring an extra paper or something to be written.

I took DD out of school last year for 5 total days in November since we have the week of Thanksgiving off as a school holiday. We went to Rome for 4 days, then a Med cruise for 7, than a travel day back and then I kept her home for day (since we landed at midnight local time on our travel day and her middle school STARTS at 7:23am! The principal was fine with it and she had to do some extra papers & a power point. She, however, said it was tough to miss 5 full days because she is in advanced classes and wanted to ensure her straight A's... I've always wanted to do a TA...

now I am getting more confudes about the FE. Is everyone doing a gift per family? Should I not bring a FE for Blake and Katie-please consider them as adults considering she is 21 and he is 20- I don't want to bring one and have it empty. Also what about my parents? I was giving 3 separate gifts -one from each room we have, but now it sounds like I should have stuck with one from all of us because we will only get one for the 3 rooms? Am I making this too hard?

I am not worried about the surgery...I just don't have time to fit it in my schedule!

I know what you mean. That's why I am hoping for good news next week at the uriologist for my kidney stones

The only difference about the luggage is that you have to put it in your car to get there then when you arrive you drop your bags at the curb and the next time you see them will be your stateroom.

My gifts are 1 per cabin. We are doing 2 seperate cabin gifts bc we have 2 cabins and we will be doing 1 gift for the kids.

We are also going to do the DIS Meet Gift Exchange. For this I am assuming it is one item that is more expensive then the FE gifts.

I am giving one to each cabin (as a matter of fact something for each person in each cabin)...

I was doing 1 for each cabin listed on the list. Which was 26 cabins originally. I have 2 cabins so I had 24 gifts.... Already have them so don't know what I'll do about the newcomers. My second cabin, I actually had something for each person which I can easily get the extras.
I thought we'd closed this ages ago. But I don't mind new people joining just so they realize some of us have already prepared for the numbers we were given.

Some are doing per family, some per cabins, some adults, & some kids....

For me personally, if you have a cabin you will get a gift! I am, also, doing kids gifts (still debating on the age cut off).

I am doing 1 per cabin- except in a case like Triplefigs- which is 2 cabins but it's 1 couple and 3 kids(age 8). I will be giving 1 gift for the family and I will give all of the kids something. But I would give gifts to all 3 of your cabins- because they're all adults. KWIM

Just a reminder -- this DisMeet Swap gift SHOULD BE brought in your CARRY ON BAGS... if you check them there is only a slim chance that you will have your luggage at your stateroom by 3pm.

But a clarification on the location -- back, many many pages ago, it said "The Promenade".. now you are referencing a BAR (hello sailor, um, I mean, Pirate). Please clarify for Magic newbies.

I will be sitting up at the 'bar area" because it is a central location as you can see by the deck plans and easily visible by all the seating.... SO I will be found on a bar stool Not in a BAR

Also some examples of previous DIS Meet swaps I have seen sports memorabilia, special candy from areas, tshirts, wind chimes, pottery a variety of stuff!!! Last year I went to a local store and my gift was 2 local made soaps, hand lotion and 2 embrodried wash cloths saying "Mebane"
It is so open to anything you want to give....... If you have adults in your family that want to buy sep gifts it will be fine!!!!! Everyone who gives a gift will get one!!!! Please trust me on this .... It is easy

I am doing something for each cabin. So I will have 3 for your group. I think a couple people will only be able to do for "family". Don't worry, their's will not be empty.

I think you are!!!!!! No worries there will be such a variety of stuff from so many people!!!! Trust me!!!! I think if you have a FE on your door then everyone knows that you are giving out as well Remember it is for fun and you will be amazed at the goodies and silly stuff!!! I give lots of silly stuff And I see your point if I had two cabins then I would probably give out double stuff but my sis is not involved so don't have too!

For example even though I have two cabins (my sis in another) They are Not in the FE so she will be participating at the DIS MEET but not the FE

I spent just 20 on my exchange gift last time so not alot but do whatever you are comfortable with!!!!! Please just have fun with it!!! I enjoyed shopping downtown last year in the local shops searching for local goodies

OK... I know you are going to laugh.... but I just figured out this swap thing!! I thought I had to have something for EACH cabin for this!!! I only have to have ONE, right??? OMG I am so dumb. I was really thinking I needed to have one of something for every cabin!!! Whew I am so relieved!!! OK, you guys can all laugh at me in unison!!!
