My wife and I are spending our 5th anniversay at HHI in a few weeks. Neither of us have been to the resort before. My wife has been to HH but I never have. Any suggestions on romantic things to do? How about some favorite recreation? She and I are both beginner golfers. Any good courses/lessons we should try?

thanks!

Romantic thing for Golfing Couple on HHI: Climb to the top of the Lighthouse in Sea Pines plantation that overlooks the 18th hole of the course where the Heritage Classic is played every April. Beautiful view of the course and the adjoining water ways.:love2:

Have fun. Happy Anniversary.

There are literally hundreds of restaurants where you can have a great anniversary celebration. My personal recommendation -- and many others here will agree -- would be to do Chef Gordon's "A Private Affair " at the resort. It's a little pricey for a party of 2 ($150 for up to 3 guests, $50 pp for each additional), but Gordon will definitely make it worth your while!! You can also search this board for other restaurant suggestions.

You might also like to try one of the dolphin cruises through the resort. Since crowds will be lower, you have a good chance of having your own private tour!

As far as golfing, there are MANY courses to choose from -- many offer lessons as well.

In any case, it will be a great place to celebrate your anniversary. Have a wonderful time!!

My favorite part of HHI is the beach at sunset. (no, the sun doesn't set over the water as this former west coaster finally noticed....but the reflection on the water and clouds can be stunningly gorgeous).

How about bringing a blanket, a picnic basket of delectable goodies, a bottle of champagne (alcohol is officially not allowed on the beach but no one will care--don't forget the corkscrew), 2 champagne flutes for a private picnic and walk on the beach for the two of you. Any wife would LOVE to be surprised this way, trust me.

There are also sunset dolphin cruises, but more people will be around.

When you get there, pick up the golfer's guide, a free booklet listing all the courses and prices. Tee time shouldn't be too difficult to get.

Have fun!
