5th theme park?

Not in Florida. Busier than the first 2 weeks, at least a bit busier, but no where near "one of the busiets times".

It probably has a lot to do with the day of the week Christmas/New Year's fall on, and therefore what days schools are out.

How ironic.

Why? People, you need to stop talking and start googling. I'm sorry the link won't post. But please look this up. I'm not making it up and I'm not telling you what I think. I could care less. This part of the argument doesn't even involve me. I'm telling you what a team of statisticians and observers who've studied this for years thinks.

Great now where does he get his data? Now that his credentials don't need to be justified.

Please, I don't need to speak for Len Testa or Bob Sehlinger. I'm telling you the conclusions they have drawn from an amount of stats that is so overwhelming I couldn't pretend to understand it. Look it up.

lol, maybe AV should post a website, then he can be just as accurate.

.

That has been my experience when we went in Dec...but I don't go every year and haven't been in two years.

YES!! And the week BEFORE Christmas is not one of "the busiest times". It begins that Saturday before Christmas, unless Christmas is real late in the week, say Thursday or Fridayand extends through New Years. THIS YEAR, which is what I was trying to correct, the week before Christmas ends Friday Dec 22.

The irony concerns your comments (on several occasions) about axe grinding.

And what may that be? What axe am I grinding?

Oh for the love of Pete. Are you kidding me? They're basing their crowd schedule on peak wait times as observed through the day? They're making no adjustment for fluctuating staffing and whether the attraction is 100% open and they're basing it on 3 main attractions in the park. What a load of crap.

They do have hours way back that week, but it's because of MVMCP.

They themselves say the stats come from 2004, 2005 and 2006. 3 years out of 35.

Oh my goodness, this is getting ridiculous. READ THE BOTTOM!! Do you honestly believe the difference between a 4 and a 10 is staffing??? Wouldn't they have MORE staff during CHristmas, not less??

OK, so you know better? Are you serious? Folks, I'm presenting my opinion. Me experience agrees with these numbers, but I haven't even mentioned that.

Since I spend most time on the resorts board I have learned that more guests then ever are staying onsite.

So even though the parks might not be overly crowded the resorts may be almost at capacity.

My last live report from the Contemporary! Epcot was really crowded last night. The promanade around World Showcase was packed last night. As I headed out of the park about 8:00, I noticed the standby line for Soarin' was 90 minutes, Test Track was 70 minutes. I had a late lunch at the Rose and Crown as part of the candlelight processi onal package. This my first time eating at this restaurant. I had the guiness beff stew and it was excellent!I talked with several people who were at the MK and they said it was crowded also. Lots of heavy fog in Central Florida today. There is no action at all going on over at the north wing this morning. No trucks or cars in the parking lot - maybe becasue its Sunday. I hope to have some of pics up tomorrow, especially of the north wing as many people are interested in these.

I really can't answer your question as I flew down on this trip - only used Disney transportation. There was one incident when I was heading out of the resort on a bus when I noticed that the security guard was not letting a vehicle into the resort parking lot. The hotel was sold out from Wed. through Sunday (maybe longer) and there seemed to be plenty of parking spaces available. Remember that not everyone drives to WDW. Remember there is some parking by the south wing. If you go to Downtown Disney, drive your own car and avoid Disney transportation! It was at least a 40 minute ride from the CR to DD. I'll have some more pics up tomorrow.

Given what I know from talking to former executives, current cast members at WDW and observations I've made at both locations, YES I believe staffing can account for a lot of that.

Funny, from listening to the same types of folks, I draw the opposite conclusion.

My sources are from within the company some current, some former.

dbm, why do you constantly insist on getting into these arguments with us?

Ok I finally found my stats. I've done literaly years of research through Disney and thier Attendance reports they give out every year( Read never releaese).

Now my data is mostly based on wait times for the Wed Way People mover and how many times I spot Chip and Dale.
