50's Primetime ???

My friend was wanting to book ADR's for Prime time for the first part of Jan. but the TA told her that it was closed for renovations. I haven't read anything about that anywhere. Does anyone know??

Yes, the 50's PTC is closed for refurbishment starting on the 4th. I don't know exactly how long it will be for, though. It's unfortunate on the park refurb lists the restaurants aren't included too.

This was on Intercot...

50's Prime Time Cafe will be closed for rehab January 5-22, 2006.

They are definately not closed starting the 4th because I have an ADR for that day.

Oh Geez, our trip is Jan 17-23rd...guess I now know where we'll be spending our final lunch on the 23rd! Hopefully they stick with that schedule and aren't closed for longer.

I posted the 4th because we had ressies for that day and when I heard the restaurant was closing I called wdwdine. The CM I spoke to put me on hold and called the restaurant directly to confirm the closing dates and that's what she got from them. :confused3 Dunno. Regardless I resched ours for an earlier day to be on the safe side.

Do you think there's any way I could manage an ADR for the even. of 11/21? We are set to have the Princess Storybook Dinner at the Norwegian rest. but I really don't think it will appeal to us, even though I'd love the see the princesses right away :( I kind of feel silly wanting to eat at Prime Time twice in one trip, but our other dinner is for THanksgiving so I don't think I'll be getting that yummy looking fried chicken and cheese ya'll are making me drool over.

I also have an ADR for Thanksgiving... there are only serving off the regular menu. They will have a special menu for Christmas, but not Thanksgiving. So Fried Chicken for your Thanksgiving it is!

The Fried Chicken, Onion Rings and Pot Roast are fantastic!!! My son also loved the Chicken Soup. For dessert we had the apple cobbler!! Very Yummy!!

Thanks Mary. I could have sworn they served a traditional TG dinner. DO you know of other rest. that are serving TG dinners other days?

To my knowledge, the only place that serves "traditional" turkey day fare the rest of the year is LTT.

When I called the dining ressie line about Prime Time Cafe they said it was regular menu only. I spoke to the restaurant directly (nut allergy issue) and they confirmed this. Although.....as has been mentioned on these boards... from time to time a CM has been known to give "inaccurate" information.

50's PT has ALWAYS, ALWAYS been one of our favorite restaurants at MGM. The food has always been great and the atmosphere and service has been second to none. This past July, my wife, daughter and I made our usual anual pilgrimage, but came away very disapointed. The food was just not as good as in years past. Fried chicken was very greasy. We had a young guy as a waitor, instead of the grandmotherly type server we had experienced in the past. Our waitor payed a whole lot more attention to the large table next to ours, which had lots of kids. He just walked by every so often and yelled some sort of sarcastic remark to us trying to be funny. He walked by on several occasions and said I need to fill your tea glass, but never did. I finally got up and walked around looking to fill my own glass of tea. I doubt we will ever go back.

I've eaten at Crystal Palace in MK on Thanksgiving day before and they had turkey and stuffing and some other traditional Thanksgiving items on the buffet. I love to go to CP and this is one of the meals that I would rate as the best of all the times I have visited.
