How's 50'sPT? I plan on going solo to MGM and thought this would be fun for a sit-down late lunch/early dinner. Do they have fun with the solos as much as the families?
I think it would be quite enjoyable as a solo. First, there's interaction between the tables so you wouldn't feel like you're eating "alone". Plus, there are some really cute smaller tables with the tv right there--I thought the clips were great and wished I could spend more time watching them---you'll get that chance! Enjoy!
If your up for having a good time there it will probably be just the same as coming with a family. I like going there but we are usually not in to all of the jokes. The CM's can sense that and they tone it down a little. Anyone who is really into the "theme" of the restuarant are the people who get the full effect. So I'm sure it will be exactly the same for you. Also the food is very good for lunch and dinner.
Hi tink - I've eaten solo at Prime Time and it was fun!!! Got the CM to take a picture of me holding up my clean plate, which I never would have been allowed to do had the DDs been with me! You can have as much or as little interaction as you want, the food is good, and the TV is a nice distraction if you feel self-conscious about being solo. I say go for it!!!
Believe me I'll be completely into the interaction with my "mom", "dad", "uncle" or "aunt"! Have any of you seen the family album (heard about it on a Travel Channel special) they have there? I thought that would be pretty cool... might even bring some pictures with me! I'll be calling tonight or early tomorrow to make my PS!
I don't want to "over plan", we have made PS for sci fi, yachtsman steakhouse, narcoossees, all for dinner. prime time 50's cafe sounds fun too!
should I make ps's even for lunch? may 10/17 are travel dates , there are only two of us thanks!

When we went in Jan there were four of us. We were really excited about it. We ended up with a guy server in his twenties and he kept telling my dh to say thank you and it ended up getting really annoying. It would have been a lot better with an old grandma type but I hae to say we will never go back!
Well I called yesterday to make a PS... and it's closed for a special event on 5-4, so I guess I'll try it another time. Now I just keep looking at the menu's to decide where I'm going to eat that day...
I was in Orlando from 1/23 - 1/30 for work and pretty much every night had dinner at WDW. On the final Saturday I was there, I had a 1 Day MYW+PH ticket and had lunch at 50's. I was actually seated with the same waiter DW and I had last November when we both went, and he remembered me! He was very pleased to see I was on my "best behave here" since my wife wasn't around.
Funny how I knew the routine and already had my table set, etc, when he came to the table -- was pretty funny. Be sure if you go you ask for "Cousin Manny" as your waiter, or "Cousin Hassan". Our 50's photos from last November are here:
The waiter in the pictures is actually "Cousin Hassan" who was serving the table next to us. You can see him doing the "airplane" as well as sticking straws in some woman's hair. So funny.
