If you had to pick between these two for the fun, which would you choose.

This is mostly for me, I get to pick for my birthday.

But keep these details in mind.... DD would be shy, DS would get into it, DH would go along with it, I would love it.

Princess!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I have been off the boards for awhile and just came back to plan our trip this year! It's sooo good to see you here! :) I've done both, hmmmm let me think about this one.

For me Primetime is just like being at my grandmothers house....I can get that anytime I want it..but the theming is fun to be in...on the other hand, we had never seen WL so going to WC gave us a chance to check it out...it was very cool to be in that environment....the folks at WC will leave you alone if you want it and you can just enjoy the antics with other folks...we really enjoyed WC and took a tour of the property which we liked....I would say WC has a slight edge for me, but you can't go wrong with either....

have a great time!

We would do both again without a doubt, 50's Prime Time is fun and the CM's are great at figuring our which kids are a little shy. They are wonderful so don't be worried about taking your DD and there will be lots of fun going on so your DS will have a great time too. Remember to tell them when you make your ADRs about it being for your birthday, they really do make you feel special there.
WCC is a must for the kids too they can have tons of fun and they are encouraged to get up and join in. You can sit back and watch the games and antics while you eat too which will give you and your DH some quiet time and eat your meal:thumbsup2 Oh don't forget to wear your Birthday Button it can get you extra attention from other guests and CMs and you may get some surprises too.

We have done both and we had a lot of fun at both. I don't know what I was expecting at 50's but it the restaurant wasn't anything special. It's just a little sections that look like 50's kitchens and there are tv's playing old shows like I Love Lucy. The food was good, fried chicken and pot roast was decent. The waitress kept telling my dh that she was going to put him in the corner for putting his elbows on the table. She never did though. Some friends of ours said that her dh (who hates vegetables) got his spinach back for dessert topped with whipped cream and a cherry! They brought his real dessert out of course.

We love Whispering Canyon. The didn't do anything too embarrassing to us. You know they brought tons of ketchup to the table when we asked for some and our dd's had to return them to someone else who needed it. They loved it of course. They do a little stick horse parade around the place (shy dd would not have to join in). Now we did see a lady that had ordered too many drinks get embarrassed ~ they brought her a very large glass out and said she had a drinking problem. Ha!:rotfl2: We had a lot of fun here and it's the one place my family said they wanted to return to this year when we go. We all really enjoyed the skillet dinner too. It was yummy, right up our alley though!

We went to 50's Prime Time Diner in Dec. of 2006 and Dec. 2007. In 2006, we had the most AWESOME waiter. He totally got into the act and involved us to the point that we were laughing so hard we were almost in tears.:lmao: Since our experience was so great, we had to do it again last year. It was NOT the same.:confused3 Our waiter only made a few comments about "no elbows on the table" and that was it. The atmosphere is fun, but it's a luck of the draw as to whether or not you'll get a server that is truly fun. I was highly disappointed last year, and also embarrassed as I had reallly pumped up the fact that this place was such a hoot. The group we were with last year, thought I was nuts as there wasn't anything funny about our meal experience.

We tried Whispering Canyon Cafe last year for the first time. Again I felt kinda dumb as I had read so many reviews about how fun it is there and pumped everyone up again. People on the boards raved about how the servers get you involved and make jokes and such. Again like the 50's diner, we didn't have any luck. We simply ordered and ate our food. No "hooplah" at all. Our kids tried to take part in the stick horse races, but by the time they reached the box to get a horse, they were all gone. It was disappointing from a "get involved" aspect. It was great food though.

I would recommend either of them for their atmosphere, but if you're looking for fun and games, I wouldn't count on either of them. Like I said above, it's pure luck :shamrock: of the draw as to whether or not you get a great server.

For better food I would go to the Whispering Canyon Cafe.

Anywhere but PT!!!!! YUCK!!!! McDonald's even, but not PT!!!!

I went to The Prime Time Cafe in November with my hubby and 3 kiddies (9, 7 and 6) ...My kids just didn't get the antic's and believe me after an hour and 1/2 of waiting for our food (the service was horrible) they hated it! To top off our experience the food was horrible..dry and overcooked...it must have been sitting under a heat lamp for at least 45 minutes  I am taking my kids back in August and I choose The Whispering Canyon for Breakfast on my son's 8th birthday..I have read reviews and it looks like fun..I just will not go with high expectations..Hve a great trip! ;)

I've been to both, and I would definitely go to WCC again but not to Primetime. The food at WCC is soooo much better than Primetime. Like any of the "fun" restaurants, it all depends on if you get a good waiter or not. We've had fun at WCC everytime we've gone. Our waitress at Primetime was fun, too, but the food? Yuck!

We ate at Prime Time last month and it was fantastic! Our waitress "Auntie Claire" was awesome - she got our 5 year old to stop whining pretty quickly! The food was great too - this was probably our favorite meal of our trip!
