Just got a flyer through with offer for 50% off SSR and OKW. plus free dinning .but when you visit site its not there
anyone else have same problems
paul

found it but was hard to find but done a few dummy bookings and not giving you 5% of your tickets
Paul

I got the mailer this morning - but found Complete orlando was £126 cheaper and the park tickets were £8 less per adult - for our family that is a saving of £158!

I've been pricing up the same week in 2011 as we're going this year quite frequently and it hasn't changed since this new ad. It's working out nearly 18% more expensive than this year.

think i will wait till usa offer comes out early next year we only nead a few days as were using dvc points the rest of time
Paul

Yes I got the email aswell.

The same 2 weeks for us in 2011 at okw is working out £300 dearer.

Seems a big price hike.

It may be offsite for us next year.

Well there's a rip off going on.

I booked 7 nights at OKW via Disney for October 2011 on the 42% and free dinning plan offer and 14 day tickets.

The new offer of 50% off comes to exactly the same price....

I have read and re-read Kevin, I don't think its saying its a new offer.
I read it now as its giving you last chance to book before 1st Nov to get the full 50% off, after 1st Nov I believe the 45% room offer will still be there but the 14 day for 7 day ticket offer will be removed(the other 5%)
For us it won't make any difference as we want the 21 day tickets which are not included in the deal.
Yes it looks like a new offer but does it actually say it is? just clever marketing I think.

The offer is to 'Save 50%' it does not say what off though - because it is not the total price.

The small print says the 50% saving is based on 45% off the hotel and 5% off the park tickets - unfortunately 45% of A + 5% of B does not = 50%

Quick example (I have used simple example figures)

Hotel full Price for 2 weeks £3000
Park tickets x 4people = £1000

Total price = £4000

Now.... if we apply the discounts

take 45% off £3000 = £1650
take 5% off £1000 = £950

Giving a discounted price of £2600 which in actual fact is just 35% off the total price - quite misleading really.

They should stick to saying it is 45% off the hotel and 2 weeks for the price of one on tickets instead of trying to imply it is half price.

Ultimately though - we all know it's the same old offer that gets rolled out each year!

Some people mentioned comparing their dates - I have just done so on Complete Orlando and seen a £120 increase - which yr on yr does not suprise me too much.

just clever marketing I think.

Just saw your comment Wayne - as I was posting mine. It is clever, but also very thin ice and technically could be leagally challenged as a 50% saving never exists the maths will never make that viable.

Having worked as a Marketing Manager for years - and specifically on campaigns including price offers - I do not believe the T&Cs on their leaflet or their claim to save 50% stands up at all. Am almost tempted to write to them and challenge it - just for fun to see what happens.

If you have time then go for it, would be interested to see how they get it. I really could not be bothered looking into it this year, I did last year and couldn't get the % they were boasting so I doubt I could this year either.

Unless they compare to US rack rate
Just had a quick look at a OKW studio on Disney.com next August(6th) for 1 night, Total:$354 = £225
On Disney.co.uk its £117 If they wanted they could advertise upto 52% off but as the deal is for minimum of 5 nights they will have to take into account the midweek nights that are cheaper, probably 45% but not checked.
I have had a couple of drinks so hope my calulations are accurate:rotfl2:

LOL at the wine - I too have spent the evening in the company of Mr Merlot whilst DH is at work :) :rotfl2:

Absolut Pear vodka with a crazy combination of Diet pepsi, delicious:drinking1
Now stop taking me off topic or I will have to give myself an infraction or a warning at least when Paul has complained about me.:)
