I read on another thread that DVC members are being offered the $50 off the PhotoPass. I just called member services and received the discount. The CM said since I am leaving so soon they are going to email me the code but typically they snail mail it.

I thought I would pass this along.

Thank you for the information, I am also interested in the final cost.

Here is the email I recieved:

So I do believe the total for the cd will be $100.00 instead of $150.00

Thanks for the information. Is it only for DVC members? We have friends who are going down for the first time and would take advantage of this offer.

Have a great trip! Hopefully it will warm up for your trip. We are headed down for Feb. vacation and its gotta be warmer then New England.

OK, I have to tell you what happened with our recent trip. In November we were in CA for a stay at DL, and took a whole bunch of Photopass pictures there. In checking the Photopass website, the price for a DL Photopass CD is only $59.95. Anyway, in early December we had an extended family gathering at WDW, and tied everyone's Photopass cards into my account, so we could get a CD. According to the copyright release, you are allowed to make copies to share, as long as you do so for non-commercial purposes, so I planned to make copies to give to all the family groupings as Christmas gifts. The price for a WDW CD is $159.95. I called MS and received the $50 discount code ahead of time.

After our WDW trip, some of the family members, who happen to live near DL, went there to get some last minute pictures. So, when I went to order the CD, the first and last pictures -- 842 total -- were from DL, not WDW. I don't know if that's the reason or not, but the price came up as $59.95. With the $50 discount it was reduced to $9.95, plus $2 shipping -- so we received our order with two CD's (because there were so many pictures) for a total of $11.95! :scared1: And now that I've let that cat out of the bag, I suspect Disney might close up that loophole.

Can you call now and get the code if your trip isn't untill November? Is this a limted time ofer?

That is awesome!!!

I called MS last week to get my code and was told that the code would be emailed to me. I haven't received the email yet. I leave in 24 days. I am planning to call again next week if I don't receive my email

I'm going to call and see when it expires- definitely interested but not planning on going until late summer.

Seems like you don't really need the code until after you return from your trip - if you can't pre-order the CD.

We leave in 32 days - I'll call MS to get the code before then, but looks like I can't use it until after we get back and order our CD.

I love photopass!

This offer has been available for a long time. It used to be available to anyone visiting WDW. They changed it to be a perk of those staying on Disney property. So, anyone who books a vacation directly from Disney, has an email address on their account, and has checked the box about receiving promotional offers, will receive an email that contains this offer before they leave. When they initially changed this over to resort residents only, DVC members were not eligible. It only took a couple of months for DVC to be included. However, I think that DVC members still have to call MS to get the offer.

I would definately call again. I called on Wednesday morning and had an email from them by later on Wednesday afternoon.

I called MS last week to get my code and was told that the code would be emailed to me. I haven't received the email yet. I leave in 24 days. I am planning to call again next week if I don't receive my email

We've never ordered the CD. Can you use it for anything? Can you copy it to make backups and such? Can I take it to CVS to have them make large prints and such? Just wondering what the copyright situation is with the CD.

And can you use multiple photopass cards and combine them when you get back? We have a large group and we won't always be together.

Thanks!!

Jennypenny- yes to all those questions.

I recommend everyone read www.stitchkingdom.com/disneysphotopass which includes among a ton of other PP info, the info for DVC members. Last I heard, you weren't supposed to call MS for the code until 10 days before you trip or sooner. But check that link for the most current information.

Thanks for posting this. We're arriving at OKW on Sunday and I just called member services.

They set me up and I should get the code tonight or tomorrow!
:cool1:

I just wanted to report back that I had no problem getting the discount code today. Called MS, spoke with the wonderful CM Carter who knew exactly what I was talking about - took my info and the code was in my e-mail within an hour. Our trip is a little more than 10 days away -- the DVC portion of my upcoming trip doesn't start until 1/28 but no problem getting the code. :goodvibes

I called again yesterday because I still did not receive and email with the code. I called and ms gave me the code over the phone. 17 days and counting down! :goodvibes
