$50 off PhotoPass

Is there an expiration date to use the code? The last few posts say you're supposed to call MS 10days before trip and I know you have to clain pics within certain timeframe after trip, but what if we call sooner? Our trip is in a couple months and I'm afraid I'll forget.

This is the actual email I received last week:

There appears to be no expiration date just that you have until 30 days after you activated your photopass to get the discount.

I would definately call MS to find out if there is an expiration date on this promo or not.

The 30 day window is about your photos expiring, not the code I believe. You have to claim your photos w/in 30 days by entering your PP card # on the website -- that ha always been the case and I think that's what the e-mail is noting. Once you claim your photos, you get 30 days to do your edits.

The old and now inactive website where you used to get the discount never mentioned an expiration date anywhere, but there was one. Believe me, I found out the hard way (althought it worked out in the end).

I would either call and make sure or just wait until 10 days before.

After our WDW trip, some of the family members, who happen to live near DL, went there to get some last minute pictures. So, when I went to order the CD, the first and last pictures -- 842 total -- were from DL, not WDW. I don't know if that's the reason or not, but the price came up as $59.95. With the $50 discount it was reduced to $9.95, plus $2 shipping -- so we received our order with two CD's (because there were so many pictures) for a total of $11.95! :scared1: And now that I've let that cat out of the bag, I suspect Disney might close up that loophole.

We've been talking about it for about a year on the DLR page. :)

I called this week. I haven't recieved my code but I don't leave till march 7th so I am thinking they will mail it??? Seems like a waste of money when email is "free". Anyway they told me there was no exeration date.

That is great there is no expiration- I have trips in late August and September- and we're only going to MK 1 time for both trips- but in September we're taking my mom(she's never been) and I know we will take lots of photos of all of us. The other trip for a scrapbook convention thing with 3 friends- so I think it will be worth my while to get the CD. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I just planned out 45 days prior to our July trip and marked my calendar.

So if you call member services can you get a discount code for DL or just for WDW?

Quick question...

This discount is not a "pre-order" correct? My kids are very photogenic (see my signature;)) but they are also tempermental about getting their pictures taken. I don't want to pre-order a CD and end up spending $100 on six photos, mostly of me and Mickey:lmao:.

We leave in three weeks so I assume that I can still call and get the code without having to pre-order, right?

TIA!

The discount is something offered by WDW Photopass to people vacationing onsite at WDW. It's been extended to DVC owners, which is what the OP was letting everyone know (for a short period of time, after WDW took away the special link people had been using to get a discount on photopass, it wasn't offered to DVC owners at all, only being emailed to people with vacation packages it seemed, so it's nice to know they are consistently offering it up to DVC people).

Since this is a WDW thing, and since DLR has nothing like this offer, no, there's no $50 discount with DLR photopass.

I don't know about the discount, but I know you can cancel your prepaid package after your trip if you are not happy with the pictures. I was worried about the same thing, but went ahead and prebought the package before our trip last year. The kids did cooperate, so we were fine. But, I made sure on the website that I could get my money back if it didn't work out.

I just called MS to get my code for my trip beginning on Sunday and the MS team member assured me that this was a purchase in advance only offer and that this was a recent change with regards to using this code.

I'm 48 hours out. I need to know for sure. To begin with, he told me afterwards and when I pressed him that I was going to hold him accountable and he supposedly looked it up and told me that I had to buy it in advance and that this was a recent change.

Does anybody know for sure?

Thanks!

I only know as recently as late January. We got our code around 1/15 or so from Member Services, and I didn't do anything with it until I ordered my Photopass around the 2nd week of February when I entered it into the coupon code box when I was ordering. It worked just fine. But it could be something they changed in the past month.

Why not just order it now - don't take the risk that it won't work? Just like always, you can still get a refund as long as you don't order the CD after your trip (within some time limit - it's printed on the PP site).

Thanks Vicki. Exceptional point. Will do. It's not like I'm likely NOT to order it anyway. Guess I just wasn't thinking. I've always pre-ordered the code anyway. :)

I liked that you didn't have to pre-order. That way, if you don't find very many photo-pass photographers or the photos aren't that great, you don't have to buy the CD. You're stuck if you pre-order and pre-pay. I hope that the CM that said you now have to pre-prder (like everyone else, LOL) was wrong!
