$50 gift card offer if we tour

We are going down in a couple weeks and I just received an offer from DVC in the mail. A $50 Disney gift card if we schedule a tour.

I'm surprised as I thought they didn't give away such things- I thought we'd be lucky to get a hat!

Is this common?

We got an offer left in our room while we were there to take a tour and get a $100 gift card. We did the tour at BLT and got the $100 gift card and 12 fast passes.
