I am helping a friend plan for a trip to WDW in December. There will be 2 adults and 3 kids so they will need a room for 5. Besides the Ft. Wilderness Cabins, which resorts can lodge 5 to a room?

PORiverside can accomodate 5. It has a trundle bed so it would be good for a small child. None of the values accomodate 5 and I believe only Riverside in the moderates accomodates 5, maybe the newly refurbished French Qtr but not sure on that.

The Poly would be great for 5 other than cost. There are two queen beds and a daybed in the room, all set for 5 people. And the rooms are large so you wouldn't trip over each other.

If you can swing it money wise, I would go with a deluxe for the five in a room. The room size will make a huge difference!! the day bed is actually a twin size bed whereas the trundle at POR-AB is much smaller and right on the floor. My dd slept on it for the first two nights of our stay several years ago. She had to move into the bed with me because the dust on the floor really got to her. The transportation is really terrific at the Polynesian also. We really enjoyed it there.

Depending on what part of December, two rooms at a Value resort will be less expensive than even Port Orleans - Riverside.

They charge $15 a night if there is a 5th person using that trundle bed.

With three children and only two adults they will guarantee connecting rooms.

You can also ask, although not guaranteed, for a King Bed connecting to two doubles. They have some of those room combinations. The King Bed rooms at All-Stars are handicapped accessible and even have fridges. But I repeat, unless you NEED a handicapped accesible room, this combination is not guaranteed.

How old are the kids? If one is under 3yo they are not counted in the room occupancy so they can stay at any resort.

Thanks for your responses ... I spoke with my friend yesterday and she said for sanity reasons, they are going to go for two rooms at the Value resorts.

All resorts can sleep 5. It justs takes some rearranging of the beds and opening up some floor space.

I will now step aside and put on my flame-retardent suit!

mickeymoose3- no flaming from me! Just curious though, if you moved the beds, has mousekeeping ever said anything to you? We are wanting to have a 3rd child in the next couple of years and I'm curious about this topic. I know it won't matter until that child actually turns 3, but I know we will never be able to afford a deluxe resort with 3 kids (without some super duper low codes!)
Anyway, we actually had more than the allowed number in a room at POFQ our first trip- we were niave then and really didn't know better. Nothing was said by mousekeeping and they had to know- blow up mattress and port a crib. I know this has been a hot topic on this board at times- not looking for that, just curious about your experiences!

Hey, w/e you do, don't say you have four people in the room and really have five. Especially in florida, fire safety is at stake. I would call Disney, they can tell you the full list of hotels that are for 5, and the extra person fee. it shouldnt be more than $15 or so. have a great time!::MickeyMo
