I've seen a couple of posts that allude to getting 5% off of gift card purchases at Target when you use your Target credit/debit card. I couldn't find a post that flat out answers whether or not this is true, though, so I thought I'd ask. If I buy a $50 Disney gift card at Target with my Target debit card do I get 5% off?

Yes, I am frugal enough to go buy enough Disney cards so I can pay off my reservations. :lmao: It would save me almost $180!

I don't know i just got this card, but i would think so because they say get 5% off when you use your card. I'm intrested in finding out though.

yes you do...have a stack in front of me right now that I paid for with my red card and got 5% off :thumbsup2

Yep. Save 5% of any "entertainment card" (basically anything but the target gift cards, and maybe AmEx, too - anything that hangs on the special gift card rack, lol, not the ones by the register).

Target has both Credit and Debit cards. The debit one connects to your bank account.

I will be buying gift cards to pay off our trip. We can save $200+ why wouldn't we? I will however buy a few at a time and make payments on the automated system. I'm sure the CM would not like 84 gift card pmts:rotfl2:

Don't forget: If you get your prescriptions filled at Target and use your Red Card to pay, when you've filled 5 prescriptions, they'll send you a coupon for an extra 5% off a day of shopping. So, you can get a total of 10% off :thumbsup2

just remember to keep your cards once you use them, if you have to cancel for any reason, the amount will be put back on each gift card.

Are there any banks that do not participate? I'm looking at the website but I don't see that info. TIA.

Thanks guys! DH and I are going to start buying some up here and there. I'd hate to see the look on the cashier's face if I bought 56 at once! :rotfl:

No they just process it as a debit to your checking account, you just have to provide them with a check drawn on your account when you sign up.

I did this for my trip in February and did save the 5% on my Disney gift cards, no problem.

None of my Target stores carry these. I looked online but can't find them there either. Would be nice for my next trip.

Mine had them at Christmas, but I have not seen them since. I think it is time for me to ask. :goodvibes. You never know, they might be stashed in a drawer somewhere.

They are usually with all of the restaurant cards. I know that a lot of times the Team Members don't know where they are. I was in the store shopping the other day with my husband. Well, one of the team members asked DH where the gift cards were. DH had no idea. LOL! And he's worked there for 21 years.

I proceeded to walk the guest over to where the gift cards were. DH laughed and said that only I would know where the Disney gift cards are.... LOL!!

They're over on a rack by the cds and dvds. Not up front at the registers.

At my Target, they are on an end cap by the registers. If you ask, an associate can look them up and tell you the exact location. That's what I did. I was looking around the electronics section.
