5 Nights on the Magic with Lookout Cay vs 4 Nights on the Wish?

I'm looking at cruises for summer 2025. We've never been on the Wish but also have never been to Lookout Cay. I struggle to pick going on the Wish because 4 nights is so short, but we've never sailed the Wish. Also based on the price difference, we could get a Verandah for option 2 about the same price as ocean view on option 1. Tell me what you'd choose!

1. 5 nights on the Magic with stops at Castaway Cay, Lookout Cay and Nassua.
2. 4 nights on the Wish stopping at Castaway Cay and Nassau.

Thank you!

I’m going to book the Magic for Sept 25. I was originally booked on the Wish but it’s an extra night on the Magic, LC and cheaper. I’ve been on the Wish and really liked it but would like to see the Magic again. ;)

What is fun about The Wish is two new shows, new dining menus (and the QS on the Wish is awesome), new lounges (and some different events like Villains Game night), the Aquamouse... It is a beautiful ship. She is not my favorite but I feel she is worth trying and has some cool stuff (The Pirate Party is my favorite on The Wish- very rock 80s hairband vibes)

And yes I agree the Magic class seems like a better fit for LC. so it really is a toss up.

How recently have you been on the Magic? If it has been within the past 2 years I would give The Wish a shot.

We were on the Magic last in 2016.

An extra night and new to you port for the same cost with a nicer room? Magic, no doubt.

To be fair though, I'm in the 'wish is my least favorite ship' camp. We're sailing on the Treasure in April and I'm hoping I like it more.
Actually the nicer room is on the Wish.

Any members of your traveling party really love Marvel or Star Wars (or Cinderella)? If so- Wish.

Have you watched vlogs of LC? Does it look like how you would want to spend a day?

My interest in Lookout Cay is bigger than that of discovering the Wish. I have not done Wish or LC. And want to do both.

I see it’s not a matter of embarkation port. Both PC.

Getting a verandah in the Summer is not a selling point due to heat and humidity. I’d just take one of the Wish staterooms with a big porthole. And save a little money.

I’d also pick an oceanview on Magic. Same reason.

There’s also a possibility of missing CC due to weather. With both CC and LC, maybe the odds of getting to one could be higher.

I tend to pick my cruises for destination over ship. It’s why I went in NCL last Fall: New England + Canada and Southern Caribbean.

Maybe I’ll get lucky one day and the “old” Wish will do an LC + CC run. Until then, I would go with ports as a bigger determinant. And, of course, budget.

And I am a fan of Double Dip cruises. In this case, not two CC stops, but still two Disney beach destinations.

I think of Bahamas cruises as trips to the beach. Just not arriving by car, but by ship. I haven’t found my “place” in Nassau, so it’s just a day on the ship. Or an expensive excursion to the Atlantis water park.

And I am not a “beach fan.” Ninety minutes in sun and water and I am done. So a second stop on a different day is ideal.

Ahh thank you, I misread. :) That might make it a draw for us then... my husband loves having a verandah.
I had never had a verandah until our last cruise. We booked a guaranteed verandah room on the Fantasy and ended up with an accessible room with a giant verandah on the back of the ship. I felt like it was a once in a life time experience, it was amazing! I may be disappointed with a regular balcony after that. haha

We were on the Magic a few weeks ago and went to the same ports. We haven't been on the Wish because we don't do short cruises. We've been to CC 8 times and have always enjoyed it. LP is beautiful and has the softest sand. I'm not a huge beach person. I'm usually ready to leave after a few hours. We were at LP the entire time and I didn't want to leave. I wouldn't let a smaller or OV cabin on the Magic stop you from cruising on her. How much time do you actually spend in your cabin? We had a verandah and didn't spend too much time on it. We were too busy doing other things on the ship. Loved the Soul Cat lounge, Rapunzel's resturant and all the shows! Going to CC and LP on a smaller ship was wonderful. We've been to CC on the Wonder and Magic ships 4 times and on the Fantasy 4 times. It gets so crowded on the larger ships.
