5 in a Deluxe Studio

BWV studios are 359 sq. ft. Still bigger than a stateroom but then, staterooms do not have kitchenettes that occupy part of that 359 sq ft. nor do they typically have full-size bathrooms.

But most kitchenettes only occupy around 11 square feet. And for DCL ships many have the two bathrooms which take up a lot of space with two doors and two sinks. However, most cruise ships only sleep five in larger cabins. For DCL it would be family staterooms which run 299 - 306 Square Feet which means you are still getting another 48 sq. ft. in a DVC studio at BWV maybe another 3.5 to 4 feet longer. That will make it seem roomy for a family that is used to smaller rooms.

t would violate the rules and regulations. Nothing is to be added to balcony including your wet swimsuits.

The only balcony rule that strikes me as a BWV member for the past 18 years is not to hang towels over the railing. Can you tell me where you see that regulation? There is also now a 'please don't feed the birds' sign.

Am I totally nuts to put 5 in a deluxe studio? I thought I was all set with two rooms at Pop! but walking to HS and Epcot from Beach Club or Boardwalk sounds amazing. The only way it fits out budget is 5 in a studio. I think I'm ready to pull the trigger on DVC points rental, unless you guys talk me out of it.

My girls will be 5,5,5 at travel time. They will likely want to share the double, so we wouldn't need to pull out the murphy bed. Still, it'll be tight. We'll have a double jogging and single umbrella stroller, luggage, etc. But, skipping the bus (and skipping folding up the strollers) on those park days sounds so awesome!

I'd love to hear from folks who have actually stayed in one of these studios since they were refurbed to sleep 5.

I stayed with my 2 grands and my 2 daughters just this past January. Grands were babies but both daughters are full grown as am I, and we didn't have a problem. I think you will be fine with 3 five year olds. You will have the added enjoyment of a coffee maker, small refrig, microwave, toaster and sink in the kitchenette with provided paper towels, plates and a small dish detergent and dish cloth and sponge.

We parked the double stroller in the entrance and still had room for our small cooler and empty suitcases. Our stroller was huge, so huge it got stuck in the boat ramp out front. (Just an FYI, lol)

You will want the strollers if you are given a room that is far from boat or bus and for walking to the parks if you decide to do that. Walking to Epcot can be quicker than a boat, even pushing a stroller.

Having stayed at All Stars, Pop, the moderates, and all the deluxes, I think you made a great decision!

In my opinion - you will be fine. We have done 4 adults/teens in a studio more times than not. If your luggage can nestle together (one inside another) there is plenty of room in the closet/s to put it. We have had 4 full sized suitcases and a large cooler in the closet along with clothes hanging. It really is all about your frame of mind - knowing it is going to be tight and willing to deal with that. One thing though - renting DVC points you will not be getting daily housekeeping. Just another fyi to keep in mind.

BTW - we just got off the Fantasy a week ago. We had 4 adults with 5 large suitcases and multiple carry ons and small bags in a normal stateroom. We were fine. It really is all about your state of mind.

Well, I took the plunge. We're doing DVC points rental for a Boardwalk studio. If it gets too stuffy, I'll just have to go walk along the lake.
I think you will be fine!! We just did a split stay at Boulder ridge and poly, 5 people, 2 adults and 3 kids age 13, 10 and 6. all boys. Used the murphy bed for 6 year old and we managed! It will be great!
