5 in a 1 bedroom

All WDW DVC 1 bedrooms will accept reservations for 5 EXCEPT the value category at AKV - Jambo.

VGF, BLT, AKV & OKW have a sleep chair (pull down Murphy for VGF) in the living room for the 5th person. The other resorts do not - you would be on your own to provide bedding for the 5th person for those resorts. Some famiies bring an aero bed (or similar) to accomodate the 5th person. BLT and AKV - Kidani have two bathrooms, which is especially nice if you have 5 in the room.

We recently stayed at BLT in a one-bedroom unit and the extra bathroom was a great feature. It is just off the foyer and is a full bath (tub; not a stall shower). It is small, but quite handy for the folks using the couch and/or sleep chair.

They all allow it but the best are AKV Kidani and BLT. Most space, actual sleeping spaces for 5 and two bathrooms.

Or if you have 3 like ours they all sleep together on the pullout. They even choose sometimes to sleep in a double bed at home all together. But there still young.

I wish they offered the sleeper chair in all the 1 bdrms. We just stayed at BbLT and thought my DD and DS would fight over the pullout. After one night in the sleeper chair my DD said I'm not moving!!! She loved it.

I think it was mentioned in a previous thread that at BWV/BCV/VWL there wouldn't be room for the sleeper chair and the sleeper sofa because of the size/shape of the living room and the connecting door to the studio/second bedroom-I don't know for sure but that was the speculation on why those resorts were getting the studio refurb to accommodate 5 vs the 1 bedroom

Isn't it a fire hazard because when open it would block the door of the 1 bedroom

Yeah sorry that's what I meant by not fitting-it wouldn't fit when open because of the size of the living room without blocking that bedroom door-again it was just what I had previously read. I am not familiar with the size of the sleeper chair but others had brought that up as to why those resorts couldn't be renovated to add that (or the Murphy bed) to the 1 bedroom units.

With the sleeper sofas close to the window, the only other place to put the sleeper chair would be where the side chair has been located. BUT, this is where the connecting door for the dedicated or lockoff two bedrooms are located in some of the resorts. In the ones where the connecting door is near the entrance to the villa, you wouldn't be able to open the chair with the sleeper sofa open. That space would be too narrow.

I would think they could do the murhpy bed in the TV stand at these resorts. They are in the studios.

The kitchen counter is in the way. Not enough room.

I don't think the SSR one bedroom allows 5 because we always have to get a 2 bedroom for our family of 5 and it uses so many more points

DVC will allow 5 (of any age) in all 1-bedroom villas with the exception of the values at AKV Jambo House (which are 4 plus an infant).

All 1 bedrooms (except AKV values) allow 5 including SSR.

However a 2 bedroom is much better for 5 IN MY OPINION

We have stayed with 5 (2adults, kids now 15, 13 and 10) at VWL and AK... While there is enough room at VWL the AK was much better with the extra bathroom. We are staying at BLT in Oct.
