5 Girls and a Boys Not So Scary Halloween PTR ~ 10/10 TR link

Fun movie night! I'm all for watching a planning DVD. :thumbsup2

I like the new Halloween font you're using too. ;)

Thanks Amy --- we had fun with it, especially the Playdoh!

I love that you did a Pop 60"s theme!!!!

I ordered my video a few weeks ago just waiting for it to come in

I was sooo hoping to find a tie-dyed cheesecake but no luck darnnit. :rotfl:

Very cute movie night. We watched our planning dvd the other night too. Just got it in the mail. I think it included a bit more detail than the others. I liked it. Very cute POP theme! We're actually planning on staying at POR, but my stepson who is almost 15 now thinks he might come. If he does we'll be heading over to POP! We will also request the 60s building.

Thanks! I was surprised the DVD didn't show at all the Memories show on the Castle. My kids will LOVE that! I hope your stepson joins you.... I'm secretly hoping my 15 year old changes his mind and decides to come

Tracy...that is a great movie night starter...love how you had a theme around it too for the resort you are staying at...if we did that...it would be BLT's for dinner :rotfl:

 :rotfl:

Love your movie night idea - how cool to do something that is resort orientated and incorporates the Disney World Planning DVD! :thumbsup2

It was fun!

VERY fun movie night Tracy. We had our planning DVD waiting for us when we got home from our trip, I watched it with the boys after we got back (and watched it alone 4 more times:rolleyes1), and they kept saying why didn't we do that, or Oh I want to do that. And I reminded them why we didn't do those things... so they are ready to go back:rotfl2:

And the whole theme of going with the DVD was so fun, very creative, you got a theme and activities for the kids to do, i LOVE it.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Hi Jessica :goodvibes Ariana loves to youtube the planning DVDs, I think she has them all memorized now. It's great because you learn what to expect :thumbsup2

I'm going to try to keep the activities going on our movie nights as opposed to special dinners. It's much easier to differ the things to do than to change our menu!

Great idea for a movie night!!!! :thumbsup2

I really liked all of your choices for the table cloth, plates, napkins, etc. It definitely reminded me of Pop Century! Good idea with the play-doh too!!!

I really need to make a countdown chain or calendar! Everytime I read an update on another PTR, I think I should do it but just never get around to it :confused3

Thanks! It was fun choosing all the funky stuff and we'll definately use the tablecloth again for more crafts. I held off on a countdown chain for a while because I thought it would be a hassle.... Ariana taking it down to play with it or what have you... but it's been great fun. I could send you the one Natalie sent me if you decide to go ahead with it. :thumbsup2

I'm loving your movie nights so far! I've been living vicariously through them and finally worked up the courage to try my own... Needless to say, I think I'll go back to living through yours  I can't wait to see what else you both come up with!

Uh oh, what happened with your movie night? :worried:

Natalie's movie night is tonite :hyper: .... Mulan was an awesome one, I can't wait to see what she does this time too!

Don't get too excited.... I was at a conference all day so I didn't have as much time as last week, and this weeks movie doesn't allow me to be as creative. I almost switched the movie last night because I saw Tangled and thought we should do that one but Em picked tonights so I don't want to disappoint her :confused3

OK Ladies and Gentlemen, I was at a conference yesterday all day so I didn't have a lot of time to prepare for my movie night so crafts and activites were out :confused3

Emma got to choose the movie this week so it was...

This was my favourite Disney movie when I was growing up!!! I loved it so much that I had to get my own Bagheera

This is my Bagheera

movienight006.jpg

Just kidding this is my Bagheera

movienight007.jpg

And Em decided since we were watcing Jungle Book we had to eat fruit, so for dinner we had this

movienight001.jpg

movienight002.jpg

I forgot to pick up bananas on the way home so we did without them

I also could not feed my kids only fruit so I picked them up a burger each from McDonalds so they would get some protein

And of course we had to take down a weeks worth of links

movienight003.jpg

So there you have it

2 down
25 to go!!!!

Both of your movie nights looked fun! Jack insisted on watching the planning DVD last night, but I think it's the 2009 one. We haven't gotten a more recent one... I could have sworn I ordered them... but oh well. I can't wait to have time for another movie night! I should be getting Tangled in the mail any day now, so maybe next week!

Wow both those movie nights looked awesome. I wish I had the ambition to do one....ugh.....I just don't think my family would be into them that much. Ok, Peter would, but I think Victoria thinks she's too cool for movie nights with the family!!! :lmao:

I am waiting for the new planning DVD to come so I can watch it and I can't wait!!!!

This one didn't take a lot of work. My teenager sticks around for the food then disappears when the movie comes on :lmao:

Bagheera is soooo cute! Great movie night. :thumbsup2 It's a little early still, but are the weeks going fast for you doing these?

We love Bagheera so much, we have had him for 12 years!!!

it's crazy but I do find the weeks are going fast! the week starts the tuesday is your movie night, wednesdays I always have meetings, then thursday is my movie night. Then before we know it it's the weekend and if we have an update we get that ready, then the week starts again.

I think the time to our trip is going to fly :banana::banana:

When we are Disney and we go to certain restaurants they have this shimmery Mickey head shaped confetti on the tables. We have always gathered it up and brought it home and I use it quite often in my scrapbooking.

I have never asked if it can be bought anywhere which would be way easier. So does anyone know if you can buy it at Disney and where?

Have you looked into getting a Mickey Head hole punch? Or I've heard you can buy it off eBay.

I have a Mickey Head punch... these are really small and that's why I like them cause I like to try to hide them on every page... Hidden Mickey's!!!

Day 2
Park: Magic Kingdom
Hours: 9am – 9pm
Reservations: Ohana

Now I will start by saying that after my last trip I am dead set against spending a Saturday at Magic Kingdom because the crowds are ridiculous. That said, we would have originally spent our first day at MK on Sunday until we added a day to the beginning of the trip. Every trip I have taken I have not gone to MK as my first park and this year I was determined to so I guess I will have to tolerate the crowds (I know quit complaining since I will be in Disney :yay:)

Yes, Magic Kingdom is the least recommended park to go to on this day but we’re going! Maybe all the savvy vacationers will stay away this day and in the end it won’t be so bad. Wishful thinking right? It’ll be OK, we’ll be armed with two strollers – beep beep! Excuse me! Coming through!

When we get up (when I wake up Tracy :rolleyes1) Pft! we will head over to MK. I am so excited for this morning because Tracy has never seen the opening show at MK so we are going to make sure we see that!

I did see an abbreviated version of the MK opening show on my January trip, but it was raining so all they did was the characters coming in on the train waving. I’ve always avoided watching videos of it too so other than the occasional photo I’ve seen; it will be completely new to us. I know we will love it!

After the show is over you would think that we will head into MK and start the rides, but no! Next we will catch the monorail over to The Poly for my favorite breakfast in the world…..

'Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast with Lilo & Stitch

We ate here for the first time in December and it very quickly became my favorite!!! I thought the food was fantastic and the character interaction was magical. The only thing that upset me was that we didn’t get leis, this time I will make sure we do!

Our travel agent booked this for us on our first trip in 2006 and it became the one favorite that we’ve done on every trip since. We arrive on the monorail which is Demetri’s favorite transportation, it’s at the Poly which is an absolutely incredible resort and we get to dance in a parade to one of Ariana’s favorite songs Hawaiian Coaster Ride. What more could you ask for?

After we finish hanging out with everyone’s favorite Alien and the Big Cheese we will hop the Monorail back to MK.
I think the thing I am most looking forward to, is seeing the park decorated for Halloween!

imagesCAL9A8X1.jpg

I have been there for Christmas a couple times now but never for Halloween, so I hope Tracy doesn’t mind when I stop to take a million pictures. Seriously? Have you read one of my TRs? :lmao: We were there during Halloween on our 2007 trip and we took mostly video for the entire time. Most of the footage was lost due to a camera problem so I’m very excited for a do-over.

Now Tracy and I have a very ambitious list of things we must do and whatever we don’t complete on this day we will complete on our next MK day.

So when we enter Magic Kingdom we want to check out the new Town Square Theatre and see the Big Cheese for the 2nd time in one day. I hate not knowing right now where the characters are going to be on our trip, but if anyone else is in there I am sure we will see them too!

I asked Ariana today what her favorite things to do in MK are. Her first and very quick reply? Haunted Mansion. Her next favorite? Town Town Fair Princesses. She adores meeting the Princesses and I’m excited they’ll be at the Town Square Theatre along with Magician Mickey. I think it will be a great way to get our MK day going!

We have to stop in the ear shop and get Tracy and I a set of Mickey ears with our name on them. What for you ask… well you will have to wait and see :thumbsup2

My kids need new ones too. Something Princess for sure for Ariana and I’m not sure yet what Demetri will choose. Maybe a pirate?

Emma has the Pirate ears

day7464.jpg

Then we will make our way up Main St. and head to the Rapunzel play and meet area. (if the line is really long we can leave this for the next MK day since we will be in the park earlier.)

I haven’t got to this day in my TR yet, but our meet and greet with Rapunzel and Flynn is hands down one of my favorite all time memories. This is absolutely a must do!

Then it will be a matter of right or left?????
So here is the list of rides we would like to hit, and just because that’s where the map starts I will start on the left as well

AdventureLand

· Swiss family Treehouse - Emma loves this place and would rather live here than the castle
Honestly we usually skip this for more time on other things, so it will be fun to do something we haven’t done in a while and I can sooo see the kids running around having a blast!

· Jungle Cruise – This is such a fun ride, and I love corny humor!
One of Demetri’s favorites since our 2009 trip when he got to steer our boat.

· Pirates of the Caribbean – Doesn’t everyone love this ride??? Nope not Emma she says the drop makes her lose her breath. I make her go on it every trip anyway lol
We should tell Emma to put her arms in the air, take a deep breath and hold it right before the drop – then she won’t lose it. We could all do it and be silly enough to distract her maybe?

· Aloha Isle – I love Dole Whip Floats!!!! I’m sure my girls will get vanilla
Mmmmm dole whip. I think I’ll go for the twist.

My favorite from Adventureland?

FrontierLand

· Splash Mountain – we will take turns on this one since there is no way I will get Emma on this drop
I also asked Demetri today what are his favorite things to do in MK and immediately he replied Splash Mountain. He’ll love going on it twice in a row!

· Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – Emma and I will probably sit this one out
This was his second favorite :rotfl:

· Tom Sawyer Island – The girls had a blast here last trip
I’ve said I wanted to try this every trip and we’ve still never been. It’ll be fun to explore!

My favorite from Frontierland?

Liberty Square

· The Hall of Presidents – I have never seen this and am looking forward to it!
I’ve never seen this either. Hopefully Ariana doesn’t get restless and it holds her attention.

· Liberty Square Riverboat – Always a fun scenic tour
Another new thing for us!

· Haunted Mansion – Emma has agreed to go on this ride!!!!
Top of Ariana’s must do’s for MK!

My favorite from Liberty Square?

FantasyLand

We will be having dinner this day at Pinocchio Village Haus. I have never eaten here but I heard you can see the boats from it’s a small world through a window which I thought would be neat.

I’m still shaking my head at the fact that we’ve eaten at Pinocchio Village Haus and I didn’t notice the window!

· It’s a Small World – Must do!
· Peter Pan’s Flight – Must Do!
· Mickey’s PhilharMagic – Must Do! Must Do!
· Carousel – Emma’s favorite ride
· Dumbo – Must Do!
· Winnie the Pooh – Must Do!
· Mad tea Party – The kids can go on this cause my butt is going nowhere near those spinning make me puke cups!!!! Me neither! We’ll be in charge of taking their pictures!

As you can see we pretty much think all of Fantasyland is a must do, maybe even twice!!!

Definitely all of Fantasyland must be done. Dumbo was third on Demetri’s favorite list and my favorite?

Toontown

Why oh why did they take away my Toontown

Ariana loves Toowntown as well and at some point we may have to walk her over to where the entrance used to be to show her we can’t get in there anymore. What she loved most though was seeing the Princesses and she might be OK right off the top after we see them in Town Square Theatre.

TomorrowLand

· Tomorrowland Speedway – can you believe my family has not been on this???
Another favorite of Demetri’s, he loves to steer with someone else’s foot on the gas pedal!

· Space Mountain – are you allowed to go here and not ride this??
Woooo! I love this ride!

· People Mover – I like this ride, and I may take all the kids on a second time if Tracy is nice enough to tolerate Stitch’s great Escape with Eryka.
I’ll go on it with her…. You may have to have a sweet cream cheese pretzel waiting for me when we’re off though!
Where do I get this and are they good????

· Buzz – I suck at this game but it’s still fun!
We love this game! We laugh like maniacs and aim at one another :rotfl2:

· Stitch – Eryka and Tracy can go on this if Tracy feels like it but we won’t say anything to Eryka until then
I can be bribed.

· Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor – I wanna be That Guy (think if I wear a fake moustache they will believe I am a man?)
Oh toooo funny. We’ll have to think ahead of some jokes to text too!

My favorite from Tomorrowland?

Also a Must Do for this day is the 3pm Celebrate a Dream come True Parade. I have never seen it and am dying to.

We haven’t seen this for a while so we’re looking forward to it as well.

Tracy is working on some DIS meets for the week we are there so it would be nice to fit some in as well!

I love DIS meets! Anyone going to be at MK on September 24th?? Let us know!

Wishes this night is at 9pm.

I can’t wait to see Wishes again :goodvibes It’ll also be the Main Street Electrical Parade at 8pm. Gotta remember to bring our glow sticks!!

We can decide if we need a rest in the middle of the day or not but being our first day the kids may not want to leave.

My family generally arrives late and stays for the entire day, usually no mid day breaks. Getting there early and the hot September weather will be nice to take a break and swim, but it’s really tempting to just stay and do everything. Magic Kingdom is a hard park to leave!

There you have it, our first day at the park!!!!

Love the Jungle Book movie night! I used to watch that movie all the time when I was younger :thumbsup2

Yay on getting McDonalds as well as having all the healthy fruit.

I think your MK plans sound great as well! It's great that there is two of you so one of you can sit out on rides whilst the other goes on with the kids that want to ride :thumbsup2 Hope the crowds are manageable.

Enjoy the opening ceremony at MK and look forward to lots of photos of the Halloween decorations ;)
