Our first movie night will be this Tuesday and we have what might be considered an odd choice for our first movie. I'll leave that a surprise for now.... :ssst:

Natalie and I have decided to go with Halloween colours now.... I've opted for ORANGE!

So our first movie night as I mentioned, had a bit of an unorthodox movie choice. I loved that family night thread that Natalie posted earlier - I got a TON of ideas from it and I'm only half way thru. :thumbsup2 A little bit in, I had an idea what I wanted to do for this first Tuesday night.

The 2011 Disney Vacation Planning DVD.

No, really.

We'd gotten it awhile ago but hadn't yet sat down to watch it. So, with a nod to the sixties and the Pop Century Resort, we had our first theme! :cool1:

A quick trip to the dollar store and I picked up a quirky tablecloth, bowling pin napkins ;), funky plates and super fun popcorn boxes.

A few fun activities like playdoh....

....and Disney paddle ball thingies...

.... and the kids had fun activities to do while I made dinner.

What did we have for dinner? Chicken Alfredo Pasta of course!

Not exactly the same, but close enough for me. ;)

Time for the movie....

2011_0329Misc0017.jpg

.... and we had fun watching the 2011 DVD. A bit sedate in comparison to some of the other planning DVD's we've enjoyed over the years, but cool to watch in any case.

Lastly, time to take our first link of the countdown chain off and Ariana had the honors.

Officially on our way!!! :cool1:

Fun movie night! I'm all for watching a planning DVD. :thumbsup2

I like the new Halloween font you're using too. ;)

I love that you did a Pop 60"s theme!!!!

I ordered my video a few weeks ago just waiting for it to come in

Very cute movie night. We watched our planning dvd the other night too. Just got it in the mail. I think it included a bit more detail than the others. I liked it. Very cute POP theme! We're actually planning on staying at POR, but my stepson who is almost 15 now thinks he might come. If he does we'll be heading over to POP! We will also request the 60s building.

Tracy...that is a great movie night starter...love how you had a theme around it too for the resort you are staying at...if we did that...it would be BLT's for dinner :rotfl:

Love your movie night idea - how cool to do something that is resort orientated and incorporates the Disney World Planning DVD! :thumbsup2

VERY fun movie night Tracy. We had our planning DVD waiting for us when we got home from our trip, I watched it with the boys after we got back (and watched it alone 4 more times:rolleyes1), and they kept saying why didn't we do that, or Oh I want to do that. And I reminded them why we didn't do those things... so they are ready to go back:rotfl2:

And the whole theme of going with the DVD was so fun, very creative, you got a theme and activities for the kids to do, i LOVE it.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Great idea for a movie night!!!! :thumbsup2

I really liked all of your choices for the table cloth, plates, napkins, etc. It definitely reminded me of Pop Century! Good idea with the play-doh too!!!

I really need to make a countdown chain or calendar! Everytime I read an update on another PTR, I think I should do it but just never get around to it :confused3
