5 Days, 4 Parks, 3 DIS-meets, 2 ADR’s, and 1 Solo DISer! Done! Finished! Completed!!

:confused3 We sure had music (loud) during our ride. I think he/she was having a bad 'tude day.

Comments like those are truly painful and deeply wounding to a child. Totally not necessary!! Poor thing!

I LOVE Starring Rolls!! We had a cherry danish there that would knock your sugar craving socks off! Yum! I also had the best!!!!! latte there!!

What a delightful early morning at DHS!!! :lovestruc

I swear, where do these people get raised that they think it is okay to say things like that to children???:confused3

RnRC definitely has music throughout. Hopefully that hasn't changed... but I'm guessing it was just a mistake.

I'm gong to re-think our plan to head to TSM first thing... Sunset Blvd. looks so quiet! I'm hoping to grab a snack at Starring Rolls this year! :thumbsup2

That looks scrumptious.

I feel sorry for that poor little boy.

I've never been on RnRC, but I was always under the impression that the whole thing was set to music by Aersomith. Which is a great bummer for me, because I'm pretty sure they created a special track just for the ride.

Anyhoo, seems like a nice morning! I'm rather partial to the Little Mermaid show, even if it is kid central. Usually the kiddos do okay in there, not too scary.

I think that may be the only kidcot station I've never noticed. Back on our family 2006 trip I spent an awful lot of time at those things with my youngest niece while the rest of the family rode the rides. The Soarin one in particular. At least on the last trip she was big enough for most rides.

I think it would be great if they put one by all the big rides or a little playground so the little kids and Aunties have something to do while they wait.

Isn't the Sunset Blvd. area delightful first thing in the morning now that everyone is running to Pixar Place! Looks like you had a bright sunny day, too.

Next trip I really must catch that opening show... it looks like fun!

You were right, music does play in your limo on R&RC... the speakers are on either side of the headrests.

Mmmm... Starring Rolls! :cloud9:

Kathy :grouphug:

Just before leaving on this trip I had read someones TR about how un-crowded the Sunset Blvd area is at rope drop, proved to be so true.

I just wish Starring Rolls was set-up a little better....it can be a bear to get to the cash register.

And why did she decide to sit at the most adult place in that theme park...if she could have been bothered to walk another 5 minutes they could have sat someplace where the kids could have been entertained.

If you don't plan to ride TSM via the standby line then I would head to TOT & RNRC first.... Do you do shows at DHS with the boys?

That looks scrumptious.
That is one of my favorite breakfasts while on vacation....usually needs a few seconds in the microwave to heat back up the eggs.

My only thing with Little Mermaid is the movie part on the screen needs to be updated...the quailty is really bad compared all the other digital multi-media you see at Disney.

Well I'm glad to hear that RNRC should have music through out the whole ride (ie. the radio station part) because let me tell you....the ride is lame without it...I only rode once that morning because it was so boring.

Day 4 Saturday October 3, 2009

After the Little Mermaid show, I headed to the Animation building to see the characters and do the drawing class. I walked in the back way thru the gift shop but I think I read recently that you can no longer do this….can anyone confirm this?

I hadn’t seen Up at the time so I didn’t know that I was missing out on Dug and Russell…only Carl was there. Oh and I totally screwed up with this meet and greet. The last time I was there you just lined up in front of the characters….I had no idea that they created a line BEHIND the photo-backdrop. So I thought I was the only one there, thankfully a CM finally directed me to the actual line.

I had a good 15-20 minute wait for the next drawing class but as luck would have it, Kat called me and we chatted during my wait time (as I think about it- that might have been my longest wait of my time in the parks but it went by fast since I was on the phone).

Here’s my masterpiece!
pluto.jpg

A little reminder for parents of little kids….the “teacher” goes fast and little ones might not be able to keep up and get frustrated….I sat near one little girl that had a mini-meltdown because of it (but I’m happy to report that her parents handled it well without any “jelly bum” comments!)

Toy Story Midway Mania (we now have the game for the Wii…so much fun!)

100409367.jpg

I grabbed a frozen lemonade from Min and Bill’s before heading into the noonish American Idol show. Having my refillable mug from the resort with me at the parks came in handy. I was able to fit most of my frozen lemonade in the mug….helping it stay cold and making it easier to take into the show with me.

100409368.jpg

I was really impressed with the set of the AI show….it felt like I was at the TV show. They have a warm-up guy before the “show” starts… I thought he was enjoyable. As to the show itself….I think it’s a bit of “luck of the draw” with how good (or boring) your wanna be idols are. (The girl I voted for lost)

Next Stop…..Star Tours. I haven’t been on this in years because DH doesn’t do those types of rides because of his motion sickness. And since Disney is going to be re-doing the attraction (thank-god…but who knows when it will really happen) I wanted one last ride on it and get plenty of que pictures.

Thank you for all the interior Star Tours shots! Those types of rides make me totally ill so it's been years since I've seen all that stuff. So cool.

Mom and I walked through the "exit" in the animation building in January, so as far as I know, you can still do it. I've heard the rumors that they're closing it off, but it wasn't an issue for us.

The frozen lemonade looks divine. I love a good slushy drink.

You did such a great job with your Pluto drawing! pluto:

Fantastic tip about the refillable mug and the frozen drink!

TSM is now our family's favorite Wii game... its almost as fun as it is "in person!"

Star Wars 2.0 is set for 2012, I believe....

Kathy

Your drawing came out great! :thumbsup2 We'll be visiting at least once this year I'm sure.

We don't have TSM for Wii yet... I think we need to get it.

I can't wait for a new Star Tours!

Every time I see a frozen lemonade I think about the time Connor dumped his all over himself at DHS.

Star Tours in one of my favorite rides at DHS, if not my favorite ride. (I know I am pretty low tech :lmao:) -- I can't wait to see what the changes are going to be.

Your drawing is great! Much better than anything I have ever produced in the Animation Class. :thumbsup2

Great update, Heidi!! YOu did a fantastic job on your drawing- I may do this a couple times! :thumbsup2

Mmmm... frozen lemonade!! Yum! Great tip on the mug. Even if you're just getting an ice water to go.

I love the theming at Star Tours! I don't think I'd change and thing over there- it's so totally immersive.

Hi Everyone!!!! I've missed you:goodvibes

Last month I exiled myself from the DIS. The deal was that I couldn't go back on until I finished writing my trip report in Word. It's done. :woohoo: And I will begin posting updates regularly starting in the next few days. I have soooo much to get caught up on with my threads that I subscribe to :scared1:.

I thought I would share a few pictures from "real" life before we get going with the TR again.

Danica is doing wonderful. She's 10 months old and just about to walk any day now!

Liam is doing excellent as well. He has a couple busy months coming up. (He has developmental delays in the areas of communication) We are currently meeting with the school district to get him into pre-school in May. And this Thursday we are taking him to the Children's Hospital to get evaluated by specialists so you can imagine my stress level!

And we have been very busy with our house addition which takes up a lot of my DH's free time.

Thanks for sticking with me and this trip report.....more Disney is on the way!!

Aack! I didn't realize you'd started back up again...need to go catch up!

I'm thinking that maybe they only close it off when it's really busy.

TSM is now our family's favorite Wii game... its almost as fun as it is "in person!"

Star Wars 2.0 is set for 2012, I believe....

Kathy

Liam is always asking for me to play "game", which means TSM for Wii. He even holds a fake remote the hold time....too cute.

Your drawing came out great! :thumbsup2 We'll be visiting at least once this year I'm sure.

Thanks!

I would have never guessed that was your favorite ride....I learned something new today about Jackie! :goodvibes

I'll have to remember about taking the resort mug to the parks....

What a relaxed pace....:thumbsup2
It's also good for when you can't finish your large size soda from lunch!

I love the theming at Star Tours! I don't think I'd change and thing over there- it's so totally immersive.
I have no idea how much (if anything) will be changed for the que but I think the new ride/movie will be more like the 3D Simpson's ride at Universal.

Aack! I didn't realize you'd started back up again...need to go catch up!

No worries....I started reading your PTR (finally) ....I need to go back and catch up!

Day 4 10.03.09

I was headed back to Sunset Blvd to get some lunch….taking pictures as I walked.

Love the photo journey. I'm going to call you crazy, but not really. I know what you mean about that kind of pizza. Sometimes it's comforting. For me, it actually reminds me of college. :lmao:

Great pictures Heidi! :thumbsup2 I don't hate the Disney pizza - I'm sure I'll have it once or twice...
