5 Days, 4 Parks, 3 DIS-meets, 2 ADR’s, and 1 Solo DISer! Done! Finished! Completed!!

Yes, touring solo- I get 3 glorious days of doing MY OWN THING!! Can't wait. You have gotten me very excited about all the possibilities!!

Sounds like you might have too much planned for the rest of your vacation when the ladies join you. But traveling with girlfriends is much different anyhoo then with the DH and kids!

What fun! :goodvibes And lucky you to be part of the show!

Kathy

The best was when they said things about people who were just walking by and not watching the show....they were clueless.

Great pix...I'm relaxed just looking at your pictures....except the performers look hot! Sweaty hot.
Yeah the ladies that had to wear tights...yuck in that heat!

I'm still getting over the decorating with pizza boxes. I'm scared to think of what that room looked like. :lmao:
I'm scared of what that room SMELLED like! :rotfl2:

I love the streetmosphere at the studios! I was able to sneak away alone to the Studios while with my parents a few weeks ago, and loved being able to enjoy some free time to myself. It was wonderful.

Love the Pippi comment!

Girl when are you going to finally take a full solo trip?!? You would love it.

YAY for streemosphere. We only caught one last time, I'm hoping for more. What a lovely way to spend the afternoon.

It was really nice. I only had wished that I caught some in Epcot too.

My original plan had been to head from DHS to Epcot and then on to MK for the Wishes Dessert Party. Early on the day I had looked at my touring plan card for Epcot and there were only 4 things on it that I would have been going there for (Raspberry schuss in France, see the Candy Lady in Japan, Soarin’ and Test Track). I decided I would rather relax in my room/resort before heading to MK. It made for a very relaxing late afternoon. By the way….I loved those touring plan cards that I made for this trip (see earlier in the PTR part of this thread). They gave me just enough info and plans to keep me in check without being a laundry list of things to do.

I don’t have a lot of notes or pictures that help me remember what I did that night, but I do remember that I was very content to just walk around at a snail’s pace checking things out and I could have cared less if I did any attractions.

I grabbed dinner at Cosmic Ray’s (chicken sandwich and fries) and found a great seat outside. Under that pile of lettuce is some veggies from the fixin’ bar- I like to try to make a side salad when I can.

Continued in next post......

Sounds like a nice laid back afternoon. :goodvibes It looks like you sat in the same spot my mom & I sat at Cosmic Rays in 2008.

I make little index cards for each day that highlight the major things we don't want to miss, ADR #s, etc. They are very handy without being too OCD!

Changing your plan sounds like it worked out really well. You must've had the most heavenly sense of freedom!

Can you believe that before our last trip, we had never been inside Tinkerbell's Treasures?? The two thirteen-year-old princesses had such a good time watching Aurora's gown turn from pink to blue and back to pink again!! princess: (So did I!)

I wonder if the upcoming Sleeping Beauty attraction in Fantasyland will contain a variation on the same concept...

I grabbed a frozen lemonade from Min and Bill’s before heading into the noonish American Idol show. Having my refillable mug from the resort with me at the parks came in handy. I was able to fit most of my frozen lemonade in the mug….helping it stay cold and making it easier to take into the show with me.

Hi Heidi...

I knew you were back and updating sorry it took me a few days to get over here and get caught up...

love the tip above :thumbsup2 You are so great like that!

Also just love all the pictures and things that I know on half my trips I have never really stopped to look at or have seen. thanks...your trip really inspires me to take in all in...I should count my blessings that Matt and I can take our family to Disney (even when the bank account doesn't always support it :rolleyes1)

I so hope to go w/ you one day...I'd just follow you and it would be like wow what is this place.

the pics of your babies are just too cute :lovestruc

I type in word too...so kudos to you for getting it all done so you can just zap it in.

I'll be working on my 2 plans for the parks soon next month prior to my ADR window and making the hop or no hop decision will love your advice!

looking forward to more.

It's funny. When taking pictures solo, you find yourself looking up a lot huh? I know I did....

I'm gonna have to do more exploring at the MK. Many of those pictures that you took around the castle do not look familiar to me. I can guess what and where they are just haven't ever been...

You're the 2nd person who I've read making a mini salad from the fixin's bar.

I love your pictures. My dd will love Auroa's dress that is her favorite part of the movie. She loves to walk around with her wand saying, "make it pink, make it blue."

what a lovely evening and how empowering to just be able to change your plan like that! I love the "salad" :thumbsup2 and I really really like those tall coffee mugs...I don't recall seeing those before and need to keep an eye out in August as it's such a great shape!

I'm still getting over the decorating with pizza boxes. I'm scared to think of what that room looked like. :lmao:
pretty darn cool actually! thankfully it was only for 3 months, we changed rooms and roommates every quarter which in some ways was a pita, in others a blast. It was one of my favorite groups and times, good good memories in that room.

And a LOT of pizza.
I'm scared of what that room SMELLED like! :rotfl2:

Hey, we picked those boxes clean! Plus we didn't actually sleep in the room, sleeping porch for that.

You have such lovely pictures of the castle- some angles I"ve never seen anywhere else before. I was in Tink's Treasures, but have never noticed the gowns. I need to look for those!

Changing your plan on the fly was a nice freedom to have. :thumbsup2

It looks like such a peaceful way to spend the evening!

I wish those red sparkly tennis shoes came in my size! :rotfl:

It was really peaceful...and I think the secret to it was that I didn't care if I did any attractions that night.

I don't think I ever realized there was outdoor seating at Ray's, but it wasn't too hot out and it was much quieter there then inside!

Yeah I have to have at least a little card to get me thru the touring...it's so easy to get forgetful and not remember something that you had really wanted to do.

Can you believe that before our last trip, we had never been inside Tinkerbell's Treasures?? The two thirteen-year-old princesses had such a good time watching Aurora's gown turn from pink to blue and back to pink again!! princess: (So did I!)

Kathy

I had only watched Sleeping Beauty right before this trip so I finally "got" the whole pink dress/blue dress thing. As I was watching the dress turn colors I wondered how many people never even notice it while they are shopping.

More replies later....Liam has speech this morning.....

Sounds good!

You're the 2nd person who I've read making a mini salad from the fixin's bar.

When on vacation I try to have a salad everyday just to counter-act all the junk.....makes my insides feel better!

Heidi, all your pictures are so gorgeous! I love all the pics of those tiny little Disney details.

Thanks!!!

I love your pictures. My dd will love Auroa's dress that is her favorite part of the movie. She loves to walk around with her wand saying, "make it pink, make it blue."

Too cute!

I love a big coffee mug. The 3 that I currently use are all from theme parks...WDW, SeaWorld and Storyland (in NH)

Hey, we picked those boxes clean! Plus we didn't actually sleep in the room, sleeping porch for that.

I'm betting you didn't go to school in New England....no sleeping porches here.

Changing your plan on the fly was a nice freedom to have. :thumbsup2
Not having a whole bunch of ADR's this trip really helped with that freedom

Loving all the updates and pictures!

Thank you!

Catching up today.
Love the photos of the princess dresses :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Here's a bunch of random pictures from that night. My intent was to photograph Fantasyland so I would have it documented before they do all the big changes. I sort of failed that assignment. The two pictures of people sitting at tables by planters and a berm of earth is where I think most of the new Princess attraction stuff is going to be....and when you think of it, that area is really a waste of space right now.

*************************
Not trip related but we need to buy a new point and shoot camera....ours won't focus fast enough anymore... Anyone have any suggestions for a reasonably priced camera? I'm thinking up to about $300.

I'm betting you didn't go to school in New England....no sleeping porches here.

Well no but the "porch" is relative. It's not really an open porch, just a giant room that only has bunk beds, all you do is sleep in it. It's pitch dark, perfectly quiet and provided surprisingly good sleep. I think it's where I developed my need to have it be pitch dark, and as a result, sadly, my inability to nap in unless it is pitch dark and perfectly quiet. Which is usually impossible.

I love the FL pics...it is a poor use of space and where it isn't, crazy congested, I really hope that all improves.

I love my point and shoot for outdoor but it is so lousy indoors and low light that I'm not sure I'd recommend it.

I've never noticed most of the things in your pictures...just something to look for on my next trip!

Great pix...I like the one of the grass roof on the small hut. I have no idea where that is...don't tell me. I want to figure it out the next time I'm there...in 2 years.

I'd like to know the answer to the camera question as I'll probably be in the market for a new camera come 2012.
