Today's CC Picture:

Has anyone ever had to visit the First Aid Station on CC? Unfortunately, we have.

I am happy to say we have never been inside, but they do make it look aweful cute...maybe it helps ease the pain !! /:thumbsup2

Thanks, KSDisneyDad for all of your fabulous pics!!! They are great. Sorry you had to visit first aid, though. Hopefully it wasn't anything too serious!

Thanks. I enjoy posting the pics. Our visit to the first aid station was just for a bandaid for a blister, but it was an "emergency" to my DS.

awesome picture!:cheer2:

Thanks, but I actually can't take credit for that one. My mom took that of my dad during their visit to Castaway Ray's Stingray Adventure. We didn't join them as the kids weren't interested. My parents are trying to talk the boys into it for next year.

Today's CC Pic: The hidden Minnie in the Snorkeling area. Not the best picture, but I'm still trying to get used to taking underwater pics with our digital camera.

Hello Everyone!!!

It's been a while since I have checked in here, but life seems to be crazy these days!

I quit my babysitting job....for various reasons...and went back to the daycare where I used to work as a sub. It's much nicer since I can tell them no if I don't want to work, but the hours are not consistant. It's just a little change in my pocket, which is nice!

Connor has started Track, so that takes up a bit of time, running him to and fro. He is participating in shot put and discus. He seems to like it, but after watching the experienced kids, he really needs to work on technique.

Today they are both home from school with sinus infections. I had everyone up and dressed ready for school, and I was going to work, but when Connor came down crying that his throat hurt, I told everyone to stay home and we'd go to the Dr. I was to the Dr by 815, Tim Horton's by 850, and at the pharmacy, where Steve is the Pharmacist, at 9am to get their antibiotics! We've been just hanging out and cleaning house a bit.

Love all the CC photos!! Especially on this damp and dreary day! After 5 days of 70-80 degree weather, they are now calling for snow for Thursday night. YUCK!

One song that ALWAYS comes to mind from the cruise is...and I am not really sure of the title..."Heeeeeeey Baby! Ooh! Ahh! I wanna knooooow, if you'll be my girl" It seems we hear that song at LEAST a dozen times during the week! LOL One of our past cruise friends made a CD compilation as our Fish Extender Gift. It has Sail Away, Margaritaville, NY State of Mind, Hey Baby, and....shoot, I'll have to see if I can find it!

I am off to get a few more things done around here!
Everyone take care and whatever you do,
Make It Magical!! :wizard:

Although it might be way too early to start things like this, I thought it would be fun nonetheless.

On the meet threads for our last cruise, one of the DIS members periodically posted 7 questions for people to answer to get to know each other better. The purpose was primarily for the secret mickey gift exchange, but it was also fun to see what common interests you shared with others. I'm going to plagerize his "artwork" and start this for our thread. Anyone can feel free to continue this down the road and add new "7 questions".

This first group of questions will be Disney related just to keep it light.

7Questions.jpg

1. What are you most looking forward to on our DCL Memorial Day double-dip cruise?

2. What is your favorite Disney attraction (any park)?

3. What is your favorite Disney character?

4. What is your favorite Disney food (on the cruise or in the parks)?

5. Are you visiting WDW before or after our cruise?

6. What is your favorite Disney resort?

7. In our previous group, question 7 was to answer a question from the previous person and then add a question for the next person to answer. To start it off, my question will be: Did you join, or do you plan to join D23: The Official Community for Disney Fans?

What type of digital u/w camera do you suggest?

I used the Olympus 790SW and it took great pictures on our 15-day cruise last year. I would recommend it if you're looking for an underwater digital camera. It held up well snorkeling in Aruba and Castaway Cay, as well as in the rain and at the local pool. It took great pictures, especially compared to those disposable water cameras. Over the next few days, I plan to post a lot of CC pictures taken from the water and those were all taken using the Olympus 790SW. Some of the scenic shots were taken by my DW using her Canon digital rebel xti.

The Olympus 790SW is waterproof to 10 ft and you can also drop it making it very kid friendly. There is a newer version called the 850SW and I think you can find it for around $200. There's also an upgraded version (the 1030SW) that is waterproof to 30 feet. Some people on our cruise who scuba dived used it with no problem.

3. What is your favorite Disney character? Goofy

4. What is your favorite Disney food (on the cruise or in the parks)? Again, just one? Mickey Bar

5. Are you visiting WDW before or after our cruise? June 2009 and a few days after the cruise.

6. What is your favorite Disney resort? So far, The Polynesian, although, we are staying at The Beach Club in June, so that might change! For Value, we LOVE Pop Century!!
7. In our previous group, question 7 was to answer a question from the previous person and then add a question for the next person to answer. To start it off, my question will be: Did you join, or do you plan to join D23: The Official Community for Disney Fans? I doubt it. I think $75 is awful steep for a membership fee.[/QUOTE]

Sounds like the bug is going around your area as well. I actually missed work for nearly the entire last week of February with the flu/pneumonia. I should have missed the whole week but I was stubborn about going to the doctor. My two oldest have been out all this week with the flu and unfortunately, this is the week of standarized testing in Colorado. My youngest, who doesn't have standarized testing, hasn't gotten it (yet). Go figure. Once you get it, it just seems to stick around -- high fevers, body aches, coughing, congestion and even nausia. Not fun.

Our boys also started sports this week, but have already missed some practices due to this sickness going around.

I hope all goes well with your "new" job at the daycare.

Last night, we were "flocked" with a bunch of pink flamingos in our front yard. I hadn't heard of this type of fundraiser before where a group puts a bunch of pink flamingos in your front yard and you have to pay a removal fee for them, as well as an "insurance" fee to prevent a future "flocking". It's actually a fairly cute idea and the kids thought it was hysterical.

Today's CC Picture: Even a little rain can't stop the fun. On our last visit, it rained for about 20 minutes in the morning, but then cleared up for a cloudless, gorgeous day in the Bahamas!!

2. What is your favorite Disney attraction (any park)? Buzz Lightyear's Spaceship Spin.

6. What is your favorite Disney resort? Old Key West & the Polynesian

7. What is your favorite thing to do on Castaway Cay? RELAX!

My new #7: Are you planning on dressing up for Pirate Night? Not sure yet!

Hope I'm doing this right :)

1. What are you most looking forward to on our DCL Memorial Day double-dip cruise? Just being on the ship feels like an adventure, plus I can't wait to meet everyone.

2. What is your favorite Disney attraction (any park)? Tie between Expedition Everest and Rockn Roller Coaster

3. What is your favorite Disney character? Well, it used to be Mickey until a couple of years ago when Donald and I had a very special moment.

4. What is your favorite Disney food (on the cruise or in the parks)?
Oddly enough, it's that cold mango papaya soup you can get on the cruise. Seriously, if I were alone, I'd lick the bowl!

5. Are you visiting WDW before or after our cruise? Just for a couple of days after...already have a ressie at the Contemporary (tower).

6. What is your favorite Disney resort? Hmmmm....really tough question. Probably the Contemporary, but we're trying out the AKL for the first time in May, so we'll se.

7. Are you planning on dressing up for Pirate Night?
I would, but my family is just not interested.
New 7: Are you planning to participate in the FE Gift Exchange? I am!

We have been SO busy lately. Weekend before last we went to Biloxi to see Jeff Dunham live. This afternoon we're heading to Jackson, MS for the weekend so DS13 can take his TaeKwonDo Instructor Certification test. It's really geared for adults (the minimum age is 13) and requires tons and tons of paperwork answering questions about TKD philosophies (including a book report!). He'll have to make a 10 minute presentation and teach a sample class for the judges. Please join me in some major finger-crossing!

After some seriously gorgeous weather, we're also experiencing a string of cold/rainy days, but next week's forecast is much, much better. Sadly, I tore a calf muscle yesteday (with an audible POP!) and won't be outside running in that nice weather next week...or the week after that...UGH!

Have a GREAT weekend everybody!
