It's that time of year again... homecoming. Our kids are all getting WAY too old!! (But of course, we aren't aging a bit!)
Sorry these are so big!

OMG!!!! LOCK HER IN A ROOM FOR 10 MORE YEARS AND THROW AWAY THE KEY!!!!!!!!!!

Lucky thing her Dad is rather large and intimidating. I also hope he has a shotgun or at least a baseball bat.
She's beautiful.

I'll repeat this again.....ALL OF OUR DIS KIDS SEEM TO ME TO BE EXCEEDINGLY GOOD LOOKING...AND SMART!

Our high was 102° today. A new record. And not the best day to be outside for a yard sale all day. I'm sunburned. Tomorrow it's only supposed to be 94°....which is exactly what the temp is outside right now, at 9:00 pm.

Sharon and I were out there with our spray fan water bottles. And we didn't have many people. I think I've only made $48 so far. Bummer.

My sister, my niece, and my great-niece all have "webbed" toes. Their second and third toes are all fused together. Funny how it's running right down that line of girls (no boys in the family have it) LOL!

Here you go Virgil...the whole "doc speak" diagnosis:

1. Calcific Tendinitis of the distal infraspinatus and teres minor tendons with underlying stress response or reactive edema in the posterior humerus at the insertion. 11 mm x 5 mm x 14 mm low proton density, low T2, low T1 signal intensity.

My speak....basically a buildup of calcium between the shoulder and the tendons that surround it...the rotator cuff. Causes mucho mucho pain.

2. Moderate subracromial subdeltoid bursitis.

My speak....old age

3. Moderate strain of the supraspinatus/myotendinous junction

My speak...who the heck makes up these words, and how do you guys memorize them????

4. Moderate left AC joint arthrosis and stress response

My speak...I dunno.... they gave me a cortisone shot in the shoulder, ordered 6 weeks of physical therapy, and said if I don't do it, I'll get something awful called Frozen Shoulder...where the shoulder won't move at all.

5. Moderate glenohumeral joint osteoarthritis

NOW....if they can say something simple like Frozen Shoulder, that we all understand...why can't they speak English for the rest of it?

Of course... Old age is the more specific diagnosis....

He only noticed because I have feet like that - my second toe is longer than the big toe. Most all of the family on my fathers side have feet like that - we always said it was a sign of royalty! (as stacey would say that's my story)

My niece and I have the webbed toes. That's the first thing I checked on my babies, and on Ronan. None of them have it. I claim that's why I'm a good swimmer.

Here's a hint I learned about garage sales....if you're going to have it two days, make it one day this week, and one day next week, not back to back days. True garage salers will see a two day ad and if it's the second day they just won't go. They'll figure everything good was picked over the first day. Also they say only do it for 4 hours max. That creates an urgency and ppl MUST get there.

Who am I kidding? I had a garage full of stuff and gave it all away! ha!

Hi all! Checking back in - I've been riding school buses and herding (chaperoning) 160 hs kids throughout this marching band season. Mike's working hard and having a blast. His band directors nag the kids constantly about their grades and maintaining eligibility. I'm thrilled because if he doesn't listen to his mother, he'll at least listen to his band directors under threat of losing his place on the field.

KiKi - glad to hear your mom is doing well. Wow! Great homecoming photos!

Stacey - Too bad John hasn't retired yet - I have plenty of post-rehab work in Pilates for shoulder stabilization.

After 90 degree temperatures last week - this weekend was finally close to football weather - upper 50s at night - 70s during the day...


Stacey, I'm surprised anyone could find your house... John and I don't bother with garage sales anymore - we just donate it all. Trying to find a free Saturday for a sale is rough...My cousin just had a garage sale - a Wednesday Thursday That's a different time to have one; I haven't heard how she did.

We don't do them at my house, even the USPS can't find ME! We do it at my friend Sharon's house. She's only one block off Cave Creek Road.



Our biggest problem this time...and I am NOT being racist or nasty or whatever.....we barely had any Hispanics come at all. Usually they come by the busload and are our biggest buyers.

The appointment went well... I just spoke to her, and she said, "You know what they told me???? That I'm going to walk again!!" Dad is so excited that he's going to be able to make good on his promise to get her back here to Florida for a visit.

She just seemed to have it in her head that she wasn't going to ever walk again. Yes, it will still be a long road, and she'll be spending every Friday morning at their office for the forseeable future, but she is really enthusiastic. She told the technician that she was worried because right now, she can only stand up with her walker for 4 minutes, at most, before she gets tired and has to sit down... he told her that she can walk pretty darn far in 4 minutes!! (And her stamina will improve once she's up and around again.) Thanks for the prayers and PD... they're working!!!

I'm a bit behind, but this is such wonderful news. I bet she will be up and ready to walk circles around us soon.....
