Well, I am in BIG, BIG trouble. I did it again....

Today DW does not have to work. Of course I got up early, before the alarm went off and forgot to turn it off. It woke her up.

It has been a pleasure knowing all of you. I request my ashes be dumped at CC. That will give the family another excuse for a cruise.

:flower1: Good morning cruisers!:flower1:

Happy Friday Everyone!

I must say the week back at work wasn't as bad as I expected. I'm still glad it is Friday and I'm looking forward to the weekend.

Got some cleaning to do as we are having the in-laws over for dinner tomorrow.

Going to check the boards! Back later!

OM - How did DS do with dinner last night?

I was a little concerned at our house. Last night I made blackened blue fish. I have never cooked blue fish before (not the yellow fish, green fish, but blue fish) and heard it was a strong fish. Both kids ate it up without any issues, unlike Lisa with the sushi the other night.

That regularly happens to me as well.

Guess you'll have to learn how to dive with only "one" arm. :p

Actually she doesn't go to Vegas until tomorrow. She's entertaining Barb (jilljill) tonight.
As long as she is engaged in DIS activities then..... whew!

Good for you. To bad you are done for the year. I get one a year and I always save my one "I'm Right" experience for something important. It gives me something to look forward to when I don't have a cruise booked.
You're probably right, but I might squeeze one more sometime during the upcoming year.

The thought of that is incredible satisfying.

Cool, a TOP to boot!

tinksdad... I just checked out your pix from Blue Springs- they are beautiful (especially the one with the sunlight streaming down!) :fish: ... now I REALLY want to learn to dive... BS is only 10 minutes or so from my office, and we sponsor the Manatee Festival there every year (but I've never gone)- I never realized how cool that place is!

I'm claustrophopbic though... don't know that I would like being down there... seems too closed in for me- I need to be able to see my way out. (You'll never catch me in an airplane bathroom!!!)

Scuba diving is very interesting for me. We were talking about this last night (I am an assistant instructor, Dive Control Specialist) at a new class starting. Some folks learn to dive for a upcoming trip and don't dive again until the next one.

Some folks (like me and a dare say scuba diver) get hooked and it becomes a way of life.

The underwater world is a foreign place for us humans and since we are not adapted to breathing underwater, it takes some time and practice to become truly comfortable underwater for some. Being claustrophobic might cause some problems for you, but if your really interested there are lots of great instructors out there that will help you out. Just ask Jim for some guidance. Living in Florida is a WONDERFUL opportunity!

That was our first time at Blue Springs. The manatees were wonderful, but the rest of the area wasn't as magical as other locations. The reefs and underwater scenery in the ocean are unmatched in my opinion! Especially the warm waters of the tropical locations!!

Darn you, now I want to go dive in the ocean again...... :cool1:

I love to snorkel, though I pretty much stay on the surface and 'look from afar'... Bermuda is my favorite place on earth...

In terms of this area... no, I certainly wouldn't consider ANYTHING about the West side of Volusia County 'magical'... dysfunctional, yes... magical... certainly not! I work in this part of the county, but thankfully, I don't live here!

Have you ever considered the Invisible Fence for the beast. Several in our neighborhood, including us, have them and love them. We have had our for 7 years and it works great. It's nice to just open the door and let the dog out and know she will stay in the yard. She will spend hours outside and we don't worry about it.

FYI

Yup, considered the invisible fence, but ended up going with the physical fence. It looks great and works well. She loves to just run like the wind without jerking to a stop when she runs out of line! Even with the fence though, she still needs supervision. I swear sometimes she's digging a hole so we have a lake in the yard. She also will pull up hunks of sod with her teeth.

He did surprisingly well. Although I did make them pretty mild. I had to drown my own with taco sauce to get it to have a bite. Basically, for Nick, it was a tortilla, chicken and cheese. Pretty bland. Not a gag or anything. I also gave him a little pile of chicken on the side which he gobbled up. Now the salad, I didn't even ATTEMPT to give him that! Of course, he did NOT get a bowl of raspberries with that meal!

blackened blue fish? My goodness why was the thing all bruised? Who beat it up? Sounds yummy though. I love anything blackened.

Maybe the fist got bit by the same bug that got my arm.

Maybe I could satisfy you with a dive in my backyard. I think the water is finally deep enough! ;)

Just a reminder that Friday night is Cruise Chat Night. We used to get a couple of the regulars from the 12/18 group in chat. How about this group? Hope to see some of you there!

The rest of the left over chicken I put in a bag and sprinkled it with Cajun seasonings and will stick the pieces on a salad tonight or tomorrow. Man, I am REALLY branching out. :)

Just thinking about this comment that you made... I could probably get over it... after all, I was petrified of heights til I jumped out of a perfectly good airplane at 14000 ft. :scared:

What is REALLY surprising is where Stacey is. I know she's been sick, been through a tornado alert, rising water and flooded creek beds. But, this is NO excuse!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

She had another cruise planned before this one, maybe she is posting on that thread until then (this summer I think). Also, I think she posted earlier that she was going to Las Vegas for a while - too busy to post until she returns??

Now that is a plan, assuming it does not affect gymnastics.

Kikipug, are you in?

Just got an e-mail back from Rex himself... its a DB Chamber of Commerce private event... sounds like more fun than our Chamber's pirate: "Pirate's Life For Me" pirate: banquet the night before. Oh well, guess I work in the wrong town.

Today I had to submit my vacation plans for 2005. Boy is that hard to do! It made me really wish it was 2006 so I could say that I needed Memorial week off to go on a cruise!!! No big plans for this year - just lots of long weekend "home" to LA for holiday weekends. I asked DH what he wanted to do this year for a vacation. He said we can go to DisneyWorld again. That was a HUGE shock since I didn't think he was a fan and we just went in Sept. 2004. Now I'm just waiting for some sort of deal so we can go between now and the beginning of the school year in mid-Aug. Oldest DD starts Kindergarten in the fall so there goes vacationing during the school year!!!
