So her class would be chock full of kids on both ends of the spectrum while the other teachers had relatively easy middle of the road classes where the kids were all about the same learning levels. It wasn't very fun for her :(

I taught marketing and advertising at the college level before we moved... sounds a lot like your mom's kg class!!!!! Some things never change, even after 13 years in school!

Kindergarten....pull her out. Harvard won't care in 15 years that she missed a week of kindergarten. The best vacation times are when school is in session.

We pulled my daughter out of Kg to visit Mickey... her teacher gave her the assignment of creating a journal about her trip... blank pages to fill with drawings, etc... she loved it, and we have saved it for posterity. She took it very seriously, and we went back to the hotel and drew pictures every night. It was a great 'wind-down' after a long day, too!

Great idea. I should do that for work and that way I won't have to use my vacation time. Oh, I did just do that!

So did you hang your crayon drawings on the fridge at work??

They would not let me because I could not stay within the lines.

However, they did let me email them all week long. That made them happy. But on this one I will not be doing that, I hope.

Another week closer to cruising! This thread has really taken off as I really had to do some searching to find last week's countdown post. :D

Have a great day everyone!

Does scubamom need to institute the 'no mainland contact' rule? That's always a cruise rule with us... even when the kids are home with Gram & Poppa!!

It was Mr. Scuba's busy time of the year on this last cruise....so he had to compromise. Either don't go at all, or do work in the afternoons. :)

 ok, dumb question....how do you find the low airfares everyone is talking about. what we typically do is go to delta's site....buy 4 tickets to FL (usually around $200-$250) and that's it. Delta is supposedly slashing prices, but their tickets to FL are still around $250. So what gives? TIA

TOP!!
she shoots, she scores....

now that I've had my fun for the day....off to do laundry....

topper - awww Karen beat me too it.

New rule on posts - 3 letters is too little. :( so I had to go put topper and Karen beat me. :D

You just figured that out? ;) I found that out once when I tried to just write "TOP" and hit submit.... uh....not like I do that a lot or anything :guilty:

that's what I put - top - and it wouldn't go.

I've been lucky as the last couple of my tops have truly been by accident.

WOW ! Everyone must have been off partying last night or something! I fully expected to wake up to find many many pages to read and laugh! I am soooo disappointed! Dont you all know by now that DISing comes 1st and foremost?

BTW Good morning!

Well said Ohiominnie. I'm surprised you remembered. But yes, that was my busy time and it made it a lot better going back to the office and having all my emails taken care of. Hopefully I will not have to do that in May 06. I really do enjoy not having to talk to the office which is one reason I enjoy backpacking. No internet on the trail.

Alas, we are but poor souls who can only afford to cruise once every 2 or three years... :charac2: . We finally got snow here instead of rain. DS is thrilled to get to go sledding this afternoon. At least it makes it look brighter outside, even though there's still no sun.
