Caribbean topaz, or Rainbow topaz are all heat-treated. The only natural topaz are brown, yellow, and golden. Blue topaz is also heat-treated. There's a difference between "created" and treated. A created stone is basically a "fake" from the get-go. A treated stone is a natural stone, but enhanced for color by a process, usually heat. If you think about it, all natural diamonds are "treated".

I guess that didn't come out right. The Caribbean and rainbow topaz are REAL, they were just heated to bring out the colors.
I think they're really pretty, and they are very affordable!

I bought a really pretty one for my mom in Cabo set in silver - really pretty.

I understand your situation completely. We will pick up our kids from school and hit the road on Friday. (The 6th grade graduation is that morning and several of our friends' children will be leaving the school where they have been since 3 year olds' preschool. ) Then we will all (several families) caravan down to the Rad at the Port to spend the night. I have absolutely no idea when we will arrive. I don't even know how long of a drive it is.

 Hmmm. maybe I do need to invest in the dual screen DVD player. I hate the flip down screen when it comes to driving and seeing out the back window. I better watch out; whatever I spend before the cruise, I can't spend ON the cruise. :teeth:

Can you tell I have no students right now! :woohoo: For about 5 more minutes peace and quiet and DISing reigns!

Same problem with the grad party on the Friday morning, we have the dual screen dvd players which of course are 1/2 now to what we paid when they first came out but use them on most trips and the kids love them.

looks like a jaffle maker

I've never in my life heard of a jaffle maker. So I googled it. Found different versions. One is an electric sandwich maker thing. The other sites refer to what is my dad's pie mold. In FACT, one of them even says "The Minute Pie Mold site shows what these cookers look like" ....and it links to my dad's site.

So I did a search for "jaffle recipes" and LOTS of yummy stuff came up. Guess we'll be experimenting!! Hey, that about....PIE MOLD BRUSCHETTA.....mmmmmm :)

OK, I have put together the Double Scoop Cookbook, for everyone who sent me recipes I will email you your copies. If you want a copy of the cookbook, email me at raypugsy@earthlink.net and I will send a copy to you also. Be aware that I do have a spam filter on my email, so you will be getting a message back letting you know I need to place in you my address book, which I will do and then email you the cookbook.

Everything looks great, other than my recipes, the only one had had time to try was Eddy's secret Margaritas, which were very good. IF you sent me a recipe and for some reason it is not in the cookbook, please let me know and I will update it.

Thanks again.

UMMM> WOW! I truly had no idea it would take that long. Hmm, def. buying the dual screen DVD player now. So, I can sit in the back and watch my movies too! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Try Sam's if you are a member, they were under $300 last time I saw and it was 1/2 what we paid there 2 years ago for ours. You could use 1 screen in the front and 1 in the back.

I posted the one I did for us over the weekend, and then offered to help others with theirs. The fruits of that labor (oh, go on, have a field day with that one) are posted here. (There are 4, so I don't want to post them here.) I actually like how they turned out so much, I might change ours!

All this talk of door signs, makes me feel like a .......slug.

We have the same little green Mickey head paint chips (from HD) that we had from our July cruise.

I'll blame it on 3 reasons......
#1 Not being around a computer from 7AM-8:30 PM
#2 I'm not creative
#3 See #2 again!

Oh well..................Life will go on.....
Fran
:teacher:

That is why you need a lap top....so you can DIS at the gym. :thumbsup2

Ok, Diana....we did it....we had Bruschetta with our dinner!

Couldn't find any of that fancy bread you spoke of, so I got very thinly sliced italian from the deli/bakery section. Toasted it first so it wouldn't get mushy. Then cheesed and Bruschetta'd it and broiled it. YUMMMY.... Even Mike, my tomato hating dh, loved it! :) Thx for sharing....

I didn't need no stinkin' recipe! :)

Now you're cooking Eddy style! Kevin Eddy, that is. It is yummy, isn't it? Next time you run into one of those pane breads, try it with that.

Save the carbs, skip the bread, and put it on a portabella mushroom, or a bed of spinach, or ......

Thank goodness I'm not cooking Eddy style! Cousin Eddy, that is! :lmao:

What does "pane bread" look like? Loaf? Round? In the fresh bakery area? Bagged up and on the shelves?

I bet my mom got rid of our jaffle maker when she moved here as it probably never got used for years (> 20) but will ask her :goodvibes

Thanks for the recipe book, Coachpug. I know my recipes weren't anything fancy like the others, but I thought they'd at least make the final cut. :( :(
