Ohiominnie, I saw on the news in Baltimore the big fire in London. Hope all is okay.

Funny thing is, I didn't know anything about it until I took KT to the opthalmologist today (in Columbus-30 minutes away) and the nurse said she saw it on the news. Apparently it was the Landmark. We don't go to that side of town much as there isn't anything there....and even less there now.

I am a bit confused. Costa Maya is a just region(city?) in Mexico, not a country -- although Mexico is also not listed. But then wouldn't just visiting Cozumel cause the same problem?

They told me that I'd be ok in Cozumel unless I went deep into the jungle or "you took one of those bus tours to see the ruins." which is exactly what our plans were.

Costa Maya is an endemic region for malaria - Cozumel is not - both are regions in Mexico. The CDC site lists areas that are endemic - and unfortunately Costa Maya is one of them....

Hmmm....let's think about this. Maybe it's because Cozumel is an island located quite a bit off the mainland of Mexico. Maybe the bugs can't fly that far!

This is worse than me having to deal with pulling Emily's tooth and taking her to the ER to have her lip stitched. I'd NEVER make it in the medical field.

Angie...It's a LOT different when it's not your own kid. I used to take care of babies whose intestines were on the OUTSIDE of their bodies at birth. (gastroschesis---love that word)....and yet when KT was running down a sloped driveway and fell, skinning both hands and taking chunks out of her knees, I lost all objectivity and was a MESS!!!!

btw, for those following it....KT's eye pressures are down a bit...22 and 26. They took photos of her retina/optic nerve and they looked great. Next check up....6 months.

Thanks for the welcome. First time cruise for me and family of wife, 4 daughters, one niece and her friend. Getting more and more excited each day. Anyone going on or gone on the Mayan excursion with David and Ivan?

You will have a buddy for sure this trip.... DH flew for the army for 10 yrs... scouts, huey's and cobras.... You al can get together and talk that 'pilot talk'

We need to make sure DS and your DH get together. DS is trying to figure what branch to go. I'm sure DH will be glad to sway him.

I guess we need to know if JB's requires reservations. Early sounds good, I would imagine they are busy on a Friday night. So Jim, what time do you guys get off work? Will Lisa have gym that night?

No reservations for JBs, but I will call down to let them know we are coming and to find out if they have rock shrimp. I will need to know who is coming.

Early is better on Friday night. It will also let people get back to their hotels before to late.

Is 4 PM okay?

Lisa is currently scheduled for the gym so she and Sharon will not be there.

What's that number 52606? That's over 14,800 posts in the next 30 odd days. That's over 490 posts per day!!!

IMHO is we get anywhere CLOSE to that this is going to be an EXTREMELY boring thread. I, personally, like to follow what's going on in ppl's lives---laugh with them, cry with them, pray for them....but with over 490 posts a day there will be too much to even wade through (especially if the server is as slow as it is today) and all the parts that make this group special (the bonds of friendship) will be lost just to get to a certain magic number.

Hey, I may be odd man out thinking like this, but I dread the thought of losing the friendships just because shameless post boosting take precedent over relationships.

Stepping down off my soapbox now.
