5/27/06 "Il pochi il fiero i blabbermouths" We *will* sail again Part 8

Hi!

This will be my 3rd Disney Cruise. The first one was when I was 13...now I'm 29 and taking my 4 year old!!! I went 4 years ago when I was pregnant and we took a 4 day cruise. It was fun, but my husband was sick most of the time! He says he wants to try it again though, so we have to get some strong seasick meds or something to keep him well.

Eight of us are going on the May 27th cruise. My mom and dad, who are renewing their vows on the ship ...my sister and her husband, my 16 year old brother...and my husband, my 4 year old son, and ME! We are all so excited...we have been planning, shopping, and dieting like crazy!!!

Since I found this board a few days ago, I have learned so many things about DCL and some great tips. Just wanted to introduce myself and say HI to all you guys we are cruising with!!!

Hello! Had to read to catch up with you all..............Coming home at 8:30 everynight makes it hard to read everything..........

Oh, me too. I jumped on this morning, and there were WAY too many pages to get through before I leave for work.

OK........Time to do the "dreaded". Order a new bathing suit. If only I'd look like the chick wearing the suit in the catalog!!!!! I hate ordering a bathing suit!!!!! Who's with me?

Oh, Fran, I'm SO with you on this one. I finally found one I liked at LLBean, and it wasn't a hundred dollars. Now I just need to gather up the nerve to put it on in public!

I hear ya....
They say "this will look great on a triangle shaped body" but then they show it on a model with a pencil shaped body! And I don't think ANY of their models are bigger than a size 6.

Then my bathing suit comes and I take it out and think "what's with all this extra material?" Oh yeah, it has to get around my extra body!!!!

I've got to get out of here for a little bit ... need to go fold & put away that load of laundry that has been sitting in the basket at the end of my bed since Mon. morning.

Why? It's got another 4 days left on it before it's considered "out too long." At least in my house.

I can only do laundry on the weekends....so I know it's bad when I have to put away the folded clothes in order to collect the dirty clothes!!! I TRY not to let that happen too often but getting the clothes put away is my LEAST favorite job of laundry!

OH! I see romance "abounds" at your house too!

I'm not sure it's the schedule that's keeping the romance down. It may be the green thong! I know if Mike started wearing that I'd spend as much time away from home as I could!

Amanda, you do like I do. Wear a robe or something up to the deck, slip it off as you ease into the tub. Quickly, while no one is looking! That's why we're doing this when it's really late, and dark!

And, just before you take the robe off you point and yell...."hey, look....It's a flying fish!!!!" And when everyone turns, you get in

It's tough finding the "right" shade of green.

Speaking of which....
we went to an Easter Passion play last night. Ironically, they put Judas in the UGLIEST shade of puce.

I said something to Mike about it at intermission and he said "there are only 3 shades of green between puce and DIS board green!"

OH, the nerve of him. I told him "yeah, but they are three VERY IMPORTANT shades!"

Oh, I know what I forgot to tell everyone. We got our Passports in the mail on Monday. Now we could travel the world and be able to get back home. Yeah!!!

Smart girl. Get them early!
I was in the post office Monday and heard a Japanese lady fighting with the PO employees about her passport renewal. She needed it by THURSDAY (yes, 3 days!) She couldn't understand why she couldn't get it back in that amount of time if she paid extra for the "expedited service." The PO employee tried to explain that even with expedited it would be two weeks (instead of eight!)

Thing is, she was just going to Canada. Not like she NEEDS it....yet.

I think there may have been a language barrier. Thing is, her english speaking husband just stood there a step behind her laughing and not helping at all.

We were just at LLBean in McLean, VA on Saturday. I never did make it to the Women's department though. KT is the shopper in the family and wanted to try on a million things---well, wanted to try on 10 things, but with her stick figure I had to keep going out and trying to find things that FIT! And most still didn't.

oh, read a flaming trhead on the main boards about this ---Now I am the one that suggestes formal night means formal - but I have no problems with the venturing out for COFFEE in PJs.....many PJs look like outerwear these days anyway,....besides who can see in themorning through those slits f eyes without COFFEE...

Yes, will do. What I'm REALLY afraid of is that she'll start screaming that she pee-peed in her panties when in fact it's only one little, tiny drop. I'm afraid that counselors will think she's not potty trained. She MUST change her panties when she does that. That's why I can't figure out for the life of me why she had 2 full-fledged accidents over the weekend.

We can start a club - you, me Amanda - no sisters....the "siterless club"....."the sisters club".....sounds like a book title....now who would play us in the Movie version which would go on to win Acadamy awards...

No sister for me, either, just one brother that's a complete jerk. I was rather close to his wife, just like a sister, but they divorced a couple of years ago (after 25 years), and I don't see her much anymore. Can I join the club?

Fran - I'm with you on that!!!! Unless you're a skinny minnie, buying a bathing suit is not a happy buying experience in my book.

Ok ... I'm a skinny minnie but I too have problems finding a swimsuit that looks decent on me. I've bought 5 and don't think any look good on me!!! Let's just say ... I may be a skinny minnie but am not well-endowed up top ... so all of these halter-style suits that are so popular this year look HORRIBLE on me. I don't think anyone has a perfect body except models.

Mine is on it's way ... it was a renewal. The rest of them said that they'd be here around the 15th. So we should all have them in hand soon. Then I'll be able to do the online check-in!
