Good morning all! Happy Friday!!! It's going to be another beautiful day here in GA. I've got a lot of posts to catch up on from last night ... work is getting in the way of the DIS!


My parents are driving up today & bringing boiled crawfish. I can't wait for dinner tonight.

Let's see ... we usually get home from gymnastics around 6:45. You still have time to catch a flight. My dad called yesterday to see if I wanted crawfish tails ... said that they've gone down to something like $11/lb. No thanks, I can do without! I'm not sure how much they had to pay for live. I LOVE MY PARENTS! They take care of their kids ... even at our ages.

You guys are great! I lurked for a while before I posted. I just thought, "what the heck, these guys are just fun!"

Thanks for making me feel so welcome. I definitely feel ok with posting, but at the moment, I don't have too much to say or ask. I am reading ideas on what excursions to do. And after hearing about the hot stone massage, I am thinking about trying to book one of those. My DH did the massage last time, and he was in heaven for the rest of the cruise. Thanks again for the welcome! (I am trying to figure out how to add a picture to this.) Oh well, I will worry about it later.

Just noticed that you live in Long Beach, MS. My MIL (DH's mom) lives in Diamondhead. My family is all in cajun country in LA. DH & I both lived in Slidell years ago before we were married.

How are things around you from Katrina?

Things are improving around here. It is just so strange that everything on the beach that I drive every day and two blocks inland is gone. It will take us years to build all the businesses back up, but there is progress everyday. Everyone has been doing great lately, but the closer it gets to June 1 and the start of the new season, things are becoming more tense. There are still too many "blue roofs". We are in the process of building a new school for our children. The school used to be on the beach, but after Katrina came, we had to renovate a skating rink in order to be back in school within a month of the storm. Where there is a will, there is a way.

Just checked on DCL if there are any Cat. 6's left- 3 according to their website and they are $3300 MORE than what I paid for my Cat. 6. Unbelievable. See, the early bird catches the worm. Especially true with DCL.

Hi all -- just checking in. Finally got everything done around the house, got me packed, got Ashley packed, got all the laundry done, etc. etc. I am wiped, but having a hard time going to sleep. I have the alarm set for 4:45 and want to leave the house by 6 for the airport. My flight leaves at 7:45. I will check in and report from WDW. Weather looks like it will be great. I think I saw a high on Sunday of 89. I sure hope I don't miss out on anything exciting while I am gone

Wow. Your kids are going to school in the old skating rink. That's resiliency. They probably think it's kind of cool though. Here's hoping for a less scary hurricane season this year.

The thing is, Lisa worked hard for that Banfi! And then she had to get up early to pout so Jim could take a picture. It's just sad.

Little Lisa checked the sport scores this morning. After reading about the NIT game she got a bottle of Banfi out to pay off the bet.

We will be getting it over the Coachpug so he can celebrate Michigan's loss (not Carolina's win). Enjoy.

My not-so-little guy has been bugging me to wear his crocs to school. I told him it had to be 70 degrees out. It got that warm yesterday and is supposed to be nice today. Got the rain out of the way during the night. Our school carnival is tomorrow night. I get to work at the 'prize table'. All of you parents know what kind of prizes the kids can win, oh joy! We still have a goldfish alive from last year's carnival.

Funny, in my house, carnival goldfish always died and went to fish heaven during the day, when the kids were at school.

There is probably now a Koi pond in my septic system.
