The thread has doctors, winos, HH, welders, accountants.......but is there a mechanic in the house?

Matt and I changed the oil pump and oil sensor on his Jeep this weekend because 0 oil pressure. Still no oil pressure.

Who can come over an fix it for me?
Bummer!! As you know, oil pressure comes from the oil being pumped through the engine with tight tolerances. Excessive clearances elsewhere in the engine can also reduce oil pressure. This includes wear in the lifter bores, excessive clearances between the camshaft journals and cam bearings, and excessive end play in the cam. Of course, any cracks in the oil galleys, leaking galley plugs, or leakage between the oil pump and block will also reduce pressure.

If you haven't already, install a mechanical gauge at the sensor oil pressure switch port and see if you register any pressure there as a next step. Did it just go flat or did the engine drop pressure for awhile?

Headed over to MGM after lunch- I have never seen it so packed!!!! Insane. 110 minute wait for RNR & TOT... FP's were running about 4 hours later... decided to head out of the park for dinner, and back home at a reasonable hour. Besides... 13 hours was a long time for the dog to be home alone without going out!

Were his legs crossed when you got home? Poor thing. Or, did you find some "accidents" at home? :scared1:

What program do you all use to do your door signs? I'm anxious to get started on mine. Thanks....

For the mini magnets I use American Greetings Creatacard.

For the full size door magnets I plan on using Microsoft Picture It!

Nope... we had to wake her when we got home... if no one's here, she tends to just sleep all day... then again, she tends to sleep most of the day even when we ARE here. (Except when anyone is eating, cooking, or loading the dishwasher.)

Hi Guys, There is so much activity on these boards, I can't keep up. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Susan

We have had a long weekend here. started off on Fri with a 2 hour drive over to the eastern part of the state for a quick visit with my parents before going to a funeral over there. Got up saturday to go to the funeral and had a flat tire. borrowed the parents truck and went to the funeral. Made several larges circles getting to and from funeral home to the graveside. got back to my parents and had to have the tire fixed. No man around so here we are taking off the tire and getting it ready to go to town. the only place opened to get it fixed is Wal-Mart. took them almost 3 hours to patch one tiney hole in the thing. Got home and started putting the tire back on and my dad came out and watched for a bit and then wanted to know "I was wondering when you were going to ask for help". Had to laugh. Then came the 2 hour drive home. We were exhausted. Misti and Dom got up early and went to church, while I stayed at home. then we went to her parents house for a bit before they went back to church. and here I sit Dis'ing while they get ready for bed.

Y'all know what I do now :woohoo:(and can I tell you, this is the first Sunday in months that I haven't just been dreading tomorrow?). Used to be in HR.

Boy, can I relate! HR profession here as well. Those Monday conversations took a heavy toll so I got out. Still have to earn a living so now I do consulting. And thankfully, my current project has no displacements. Unfortunately, it means I am away from home 5 days a week through end of April.

We had Dad's 70th "surprise" birthday party on Sat. It was in an historic building in Salado, Tx that used to be a real stage coach stop, now called appropriately Stagecoach Inn. The literal "high light" was the birthday cake. My sister thought it would fun to put 70 candles on the cake. And she thought they should be the kind that dont blow out! The flames where 2 feet high and the whole top of the cake was boiling. The room filled with smoke, thankfully my DH took grabbed it and ran out the fire door. There was no damage and the owners thought it was a hoot. They cut the top off the cake off and filled it with fudge and then asked for pictures and the left overs!

A very memorable experience.:rotfl2:

Now I must finish packing as I jump back on the plane in less than 10 hours. I will try to check back in next weekend.

Everyone have a great week.

It went flat all at once which is why I thought it would have been the pump or the sensor.

I'll take it in to my jeep guy tomorrow.

It was worth the effort because this is the first time the Matt helped me out on his car. We spent Friday night dropping the pan and Sunday reinstalling it.
It was a pleasure working with him so it was one of those "priceless" experiences. Just wish I would have caught him on video with oil all over him.

Oh boy, a new game!!!

I think gaRry is suggesting that you should not have put chocolate chip cookies in the jeep in place of oil........ But that is a guess!! We need a gaRry translator!! :lmao:

Sometimes it's the journey and NOT the destination that's important!! :thumbsup2

Mine is normally in the dishwasher. She will go for the dishes all the way in the back. It's our pre-wash cycle. :lmao:

I don't remember the best time from my past research. I do remember that they recommend to time dives with the coral spawning (Hey, I said spawning again.... :rotfl: ) It's suppose to be pretty amazing!!

From a website:

The bizarre phenomenon of mass coral spawning occurs throughout the Caribbean, but scientists generally agree that the "big bang" at the Flower Garden Banks is more intense than anywhere else. If you want to be front and center for the action, there's no better place to be than here on the eighth night after the August full moon—at 9:15 p.m., to be exact. That's when seven different species participate in a mass orgy that resembles an upside-down snowstorm. Billions of BB-size bundles of gametes erupt from coral polyps and gradually float to the surface where they combine to form new corals.

It's funny... I don't have a single friend in HR that's happy in HR. OK, not funny, but sad. I think consulting would be the way to go. At least you're in and out, and don't have to deal with the endless, thankless, grind that is corporate HR. I have a friend with a consulting business, and I told her if something part-time comes up, to give me a call. We'll see... Good luck with your current project. At least you know when it will end!
