5/27/06 "Il pochi il fiero i blabbermouths" We *will* sail again Part 7

It's getting late for me. I have a great day of NCAA basketball. My teams are doing great, and I'm leading the family in the bracketts. I'm a teacher at Wichita State University and they are on the Sweet 16. It's a really big deal here in Wichita. Go Shockers! But my heart is behind Duke.

OK, Karen we need to get our DHs together. They both sound exactly alike. My DH is so afraid that I am just going to get soooo wrapped up with DISers on the cruise. "Don't forget it's a FAMILY cruise" he said to me. We're very opposite as you can see. I love meeting new people and he would just assume to be by ourselves.

Maria - tell him not to worry. It really won't be like we are all joined at the hip. The DIS meets are short times just to get everyone to meet and get to know each other. Mark and I still had plent of time as a couple. One of the reasons we booked High Tea - something we enjoy as a couple.

When i played LRC with Karen on the 10 day it was a sea day I believe and I was just walking past the promonade lounge. Stopped to say hello and they were playing so I joined them for a few rounds.

That to me is the fun thing...just running into friends all over the ship.

What is "left-center-right"? Is it a way to gamble on DCL?

Yup. We play at family gatherings. You start with 3 coins (we do quarters, usually) Depending on how many ppl play, you have the chance of winning 3 quarters from each person. So if 10 ppl play, you put in your 3 quarters, if you win you end up with 30 quarters. So you don't get a TON, but you aren't out a ton either if you lose.

My brother plays with friends and they do dollars!!!

We are Phase 10 players too. Do you play by the mean rules? The ones where you have to complete the phase before going on to the next one.

eek- counting cards, trump, etc...I still want to be speaking to John at the end of the cruise...He got so frustrated being my partner as I was trying to learn the concept of trump...

For the LONGEST time I would always throw a card that I thought was good, even if it didn't follow suit. Then the next time I'd throw the card that SHOULD have been thrown and I'd get BUSTED...."HEY, you should have thrown that last time." OOPS! For some reason, with Wizard I don't have that problem. Then again, maybe I'd be better at euchre now, haven't played it in a long time b/c of Mike's frustration with me.

Well I was on a DCL cruise which is supposed to be cashless. I had to "borrow" some from a kind family. Of course I didn't walk away from the table with any.

Well, here it is. Mike told the kids they had to clean their rooms and the playroom while he was at work today. If they did it and it was done well, we'd have a surprise for them.

We went to see "Holes" at Columbus Children's Theater and the suprise was bd Mongolian bbq which was just around the corner. We got there and it was a 50 minute wait. BLECH. Our kids HATE waiting, so we said they could eat anywhere they wanted. Nick immediately yelled out "CASEY'S" (at the Magic Kingdom) but we had to say "within reason." So they decided Cici's. Good for me. Except I feel about 8 pounds heavier right now!

quick message from dh - he'll print the receipe tomorrow a.m. - It takes LOTS of practice-it's not hard - but, I'm still convinced it needs lots of practice, on a regular basis to keep his skills sharp or for consistancy it's awesome John whips up a batch for the kids' teachers as their "survival kit" during holiday parties...The list has grown to include past and present teachers. There were several teachers walking around with a bowl a spoon and a very happy smile on their face on the last day before Christmas break.

PS - Banfi was good with the mousse - but, my favorite so far is with the Ghirardeli dark chocolate bar. I'm willing to continue the comparison testing...

ok, pet peeve of mine. how come when you search and then try to search again it tells you how many seconds you have left until you can perform another search. but with posting it just says 'You can only do this once every 40 seconds.' I have no idea if I have 30 seconds left, or 22, or 18, or 6!!! Grrrrrr
