Hello!

First time poster here--but DW, DS (12) and I will be making our fourth DC on the May 27 Alternative Western. Can't wait! It's a surprise birthday gift to our son (March 30), and we're about to bust keeping it a secret.

Cruiser wife and I were talking last night, saying "wouldn't it be nice if we met up with some other nice cruisers w kids" on this trip. This seems like the place to do it!

We're in Nashville, TN. Son's a baseball fanatic; wife loves Seinfeld, Palo and massages on Castaway Cay; I'm a drummer and magazine editor.

Looking forward to meeting all you fellow Cruisers!

Welcome! My son is 12...will be 13 in late June....also a baseball fanatic! I know he'll be glad to hear that someone his age is joining us.

Good Morning/Afternoon Everyone!

Before you think I just rolled out of bed....I had some legal research to do this morning, and already have a call in to the accountant. Lightbulb went off in my head during our dinner last night, and I realized that I had made a mistake in some of the info I gave the accountant. Guess I'm human afterall.
All I know is that I am SOOOO ready for a trip. I'm glad we have Disneyland coming up....I want to go and pretend I'm 12 years old again....and forget all the taxes and junk.

I made my very simple packing list for D-Land.....and then started looking around and discovered that someone threw away my Grand California refillable mug! :sad2: Jay cleaned out kitchen cabinets while I was out of town.....he's in the dog house now!

Oh no, not the refillable mug! My Beach Club one is in an honored place.

Stacey, answer to your earlier question. I was looking at GPS units the other day on Amazon, and decided that the Garmin 340 was the one to get. I read the reviews and everything, and it's only about $500. "Only" in comparison to some of the $1000 units.

Welcome to our new cruisers! Keep posting, we'll get you all straightened out eventually.

 :cool1: :thumbsup2 Our DS, 11 1/2, will be thrilled to have another BOY his age on the cruise. The tween boys are way outnumbered by the girls at this point. Welcome!

Cruise Related! I was gone when everyone was booking their excursions....who is doing the parasail at Castaway Cay? What day & time?
And....who's doing the Seahorse Snorkel?

The kids and I are parasailing (and I'm sure someone will be selling tickets to watch) on the 2nd CC day, Friday, at 1:30.

We are on the Seahorse snorkel on the first CC day at 1:15 and on the 2nd CC day at 9:15.

Anyway have those same times???

We also have the Banana Boats at noon on the first CC day, and the LAST Banana Boat ride of the day on the 2nd CC day....at 3:30. I love the last ride of the day, because they stay out longer. Wheeeeeee.

He didn't throw away the Beach Club mugs....his head is gonna roll for this, though. Now I have to buy a new one. How stupid is that? I'll pay thousands of $$ to cruise, but don't want to buy another mug?!

Amanda said the GPS will whisper sweet nothings in my ear....that better be true...or else I'll just stick with my book of road maps!

Gotta go....at least it will be a much calmer day today! TTFN

Please do your best to make sure that April 9-12 is one of the 'hot' weeks... I just got word that I have a meeting in Philly... I know how 'spring' can be in the Northeast & MidAtlantic... late season blizzards are NOT that uncommon!!!!

(Then, two weeks later, its a wedding in Boston... I distinctly remember snow in May in 2001... lets not have any late-season precip!!!!) 3 trips before the cruise... that should sure make time fly!!!!! (Or at least it will make ME fly...)

I will try my best and pray for good weather for ya. I remember they had to cancel opening day for the Yankees one year because of a snow storm. Wish your meeting was in NY or closer to NY. We could've had a mini-meet.

:welcome: What a great surprise birthday gift! My DD will be 7 at cruise time but my DH acts like he is 12

Look forward to cruising with you all.

Thanks for all the pixie dust for hubby. Actually, he's doing really well. He's up and around and already been on the exercise bike. Bending the knee and walking without the crutches. I'm very proud of him.

Painting the boys' room. Already did the ceiling. Ready to do the walls now. Then we'll have the rug installed. And then...the Yankee stuff starts to be assembled. Look out. Talk about baseball fans.

OK, I'm getting yelled at(not really yelling) to get back to work. If he only knew.....;)

Welcome! I can totally understand how hard it is too keep that secret... I booked this trip in November of '04, and managed to keep it a secret til Christmas of '05. Thought I would die in the process, but managed to keep my mouth shut!!!!

Check out Mary & Mark's website (WDWLVR & MarkRG) to meet all of us... yes, we're crazy, but don't say we didn't warn you.

Actually, this meeting WAS supposed to be in NYC, however, the 'mothership' had a hotel & catering credit to use up from a cancelled meeting in Philly... so our meeting got moved there. :guilty:

A TOP shared with Maria, NYC, Philly, and beer!

I would love to get updated maps....Does this cost extra? Do I call to get this DVD?

Go to the Garmin website and they have a whole section on map updates. It all depends on what model you have. It will show what the current release is and if there is any costs.

Good morning all you early birds!

We were really pooped last night. DH has been working hard to finish the redwood swing, adirondack chair and birdhouses for DD's school auction. DD worked very hard in swim lessons last night and I worked hard to meet "someones challenge" for 2 a day workouts! :yay:

As if that was not enough of a challenge, I thought while on the treadmill, maybe I could aspire to be like Jim who on a whim jumps up in the morning and runs a 5k! (this was a thought because I was breathing so heavy while walking that I could not actually speak:)). So Jim just for the sake of my on punishing challenge...what was your time?

Just crossing the finish line is always good enough. With any race you are just racing against yourself which is what I like.

My time was 24:30. I'm trying to get it down 22.
