A MORNING TOP WITH WINE PACKAGE INFORMATION
Diana - we were disppointed with the wine package on our November cruise. We ordered by the glass in January and really thought the wine package would be a good idea, in fact we were looking forward to it....Perhaps it was our server, perhaps we did not understand, perhaps wine packages are not for us...but...
I thought we could have 7 bottles of wine and if I wanted a glass of botle 1 and a glass of bottle 2 and a glass of bottle 3, it would work that way Not really, They intend for the 2 of you to have one bottle each night. Sam and I like different types of wine, so already we start with 2 bottles. That was accomodated, but then the next night, the half bottles were on the table. I did not want that wine with what I ordered, I wanted a different bottle. Then when we went to Palo's, we decided to use one of our wine package bottles for me (remember I was slightly seasick). Apparently, they do not keep your wine when you go to Palo's for the table the next day. Much apologies and inquiries about how much was left etc. so wine did not arrive until after first course. And of course, you have a tendency to drink more than you wold if you were ordering by the glass. (OK, what is wrong with that?),
Now our tablemates had a good experience. They used the traditional approach as they ordered one bottle after selecting their meal and drank the same wine together.
As many things, it is a good concept if it works for you. I think we will resort to the wine by the glass. That way I can try 2 or more wines each night if I like.......
