We went to Sea World 2 years ago and had a magical experience. I love the puffins and so we were spending a lot of time at that exhibit. It was right after opening and everyone else was rushing to the coaster but here we were with the puffins. They weren't very active so we just stayed and watched. After about 15 mintues we were just about to leave when someone came out from the back and came up to me. He asked if I was doing a story or something on the puffins since we spent so much time there. I told him no we just enjoyed them. He asked if we wanted to go backstage and see them! He took us into the exhibit but out of the way where no one could see up. We got some great shots of them and got to hear them. It was so cute. We told the keeper that we had just been waiting for them to do some swimming. He told us to stick around for a few minutes. We went back out and he went back into the exhibit and tossed some fish into the water and then of course a number of them went in after (some with some help from him). We got some great shots.

All in all a magical day! I believe in magic and it doesn't always happen at Disney.

Yup, I've been to hell and back. We did an island tour, and BY FAR the most entertaining thing was the woman who was miserable on our tour and she was bound and determined to make everyone else so. If you're going to be that miserable on vacation, why not stay home? Could it be any worse there? Anyway, she chewed out a mom with a 2 yr old b/c her baby was fussy....and he had every right to be there. The mean woman said it was for "3 and above" but actually the information said that only those 3 and above had to pay. Anyway, it got so bad the lady with the baby was crying, at the next stop she got her stroller off the shuttle and WALKED back to the ship. Musta been 3 or 4 miles at that point. In the heat. Meanwhile, the dad and other two kids HAD NO CAMERA....so we took pictures of them all over GC so we could email them memories of their trip.

Btw, I was talking to the dad something about how excited I was for "lobster night" as this was our first 7 day....and mean lady said, in a snooty voice "well, it's just lobster tail, it's not like they are serving lobster thermadore or anything....."

That's when you should have stopped at the rum cake place and just asked for a rum for her, forget the cake she obviously just needed the rum!!

Monster trucks... the ones that are on Speed Channel (and Speed On-Demand) day after day after day after day after day...

DH took DS to that a couple of years ago and came home shortly later, it was too loud for DS, he doesn't like noise unless it is coming from him!! :rotfl2: Now wants earmuffs so he can go again.

Well, you must keep in mind that we had been chatting for over a YEAR before you came. You ARE definitely helping us boost our numbers though. :)

The SECOND chattiest thread contained MANY of the people you see right here. A good number of us have cruised together before. They are like my family. With the biggest difference being that this is a MUCH more functional family unit than my REAL one....

But of course, there is ALWAYS ONE in every family, eh?

Yeah - who is the ONE?

I can help here....I can justify nearly any food.

meatloaf...
there's the meat group....and since it's a "loaf" that covers grains too.
jello....is it fruit flavored? cherry? strawberry? lime? if so, that covers the fruit group
cool whip is a diary product.

HTH!

OHMinnie, I'm getting ready to go eat some of those Lindt truffles (do you dream in chocolate?) that DH got me for Valentine's day. Want to justify that one? I'm sure you have all noticed that I haven't posted on the W.I.S.H. board lately ... I'm not doing so well.

Jim, on the vehicle thing ... go for a SUV. Ok, they're gas guzzlers sometimes. I know that the Yukons, Tahoes, Expeditions & Sequoias all came with an option of buckets seats in the 2nd row. We got them in our Sequoia. GM is advertising better gas mileage for '07s. Not sure what that really means though. Smaller engine?

V-Day for us - Johnny's Pizza - 1/2 deluxe for Bruce & I and 1/2 pepperoni for the girls ... now that's ROMANTIC!:rotfl2:

They do... you have 7 days of unlimited admission to Sea World after your Discovery Cove visit...

That is what I thought I read so even with the more expensive price it really is not bad compared to the 30minutes you get on the island excursions

I think Jim should get the Toyota Highlander Hybrid. Sounds like the best of both worlds to me.

This one even knows when its home!! (on the beach)

Off to bed I go but I have the alarm set for midnight. I have to get up & register DDs for gymnastics at the rec center. There are only 2 slots open for Ashley's age group so I want to be sure to grab one. I hope I don't get up at midnight to find out the server is on the west coast (through active.com). The things we do for our kids!!!

I may check in at midnight. Night, night all.

****Cruise question****

We will have a rental car when we are in Florida before the cruise and are staying at the Radisson. Would you return the car on Friday night and take the shuttle to the port? Or, would you keep the car until Saturday morning, drop off luggage and/or family at port and return car and then take Budget car rental shuttle back to port? Suggestions from my wise friends here.

I've read two pages now and no one has responded to this, so here's my two cents. I would vote to return the car as soon as you don't need it the night before. You might even save a day's rental. And you could all get on the Radisson shuttle and go to the port, and check in together. We've done it the other way, but it seems like this would be simpler.

Quiet Valentines Day here. Charley and I actually got to go to lunch together today as he was at the field office doing training. He brought me a dozen roses. Ashley had swim practice tonight, so we had spaghetti here at home tonight.

This is the end of the six weeks testing week, so oldest son has lots of studying this week. He normally goes to youth on Tuesdays, but not tonight.
