Lookout Cay - Serenity Bay

When we were there in November, there was a local family sitting at the table next to ours. They all had bracelets (like what WDW uses for hard-ticketed party entry). It made me wonder how many tables are being used that way. Sure, they paid for it but then DCL needs to provide extra seating, beyond just the number of passengers on the ship. We were on the Magic so it wasn't so crowded. I don't think I'd want to be there on the Dream/Fantasy, etc.

I tried to get a table that didn't have a huge fan blowing on our food, making it colder. There were many tables available at the time and every single one had fan air blowing on it. Probably feels nice on a really hot day but on our visit it was cloudy and a high of about 70. I guess that's the only way to keep flies away? :scratchin

It's strange, because my husband and I were there on February 28th, and there was, in fact, a fly problem. In fact, it was so bad we chose to go back to the Fantasy and eat at Cabanas.

I had heard the fly problem was mostly fixed, but it was pretty bad when we were there. Not sure why.

It’s stunning, isn’t it? After visiting during each cruise for many weeks, it quickly became one of my favorite destinations
were you able to explore past the cliffs? That area really interests me but I am unsure if we are allowed to go that far.

We were there the very end of Jan and they were not a problem. Fans weren't even turned on.

Far too few tables/seats at Serenity when we were there on the fantasy. Very poor planning. Also, why are the tables at all the dining far across an open concrete plaza from the food? Makes zero sense. Food temperature was a big problem for us too, waiting for tables doesn’t help. Feels like the Wish design/layout team had a hand in this one somehow.

Annoying. I'll see for myself in August, but I'm already expecting the lack of separation is going to be a complaint from me.

I'm a forewarned is forearmed sort...my experience last September was that the adult bleach is quite long.. I suppose if one parked their posterior near the border, that there might be slight skirmishes of intruding ne'er do wells... but from my guarded patch of sand a few hundred feet down the adult beach... I couldn't hear or see anyone that even remotely looked like they couldn't drive, and I was there for 5 glorious sun filled hours. Not one.

In the attached picture you can see my view down the beach towards the enemy line. I believe the border you are concerned about is not the first set of orange cones but nearer to the second way down there. You can see the density of folks in the water appears to be higher, though that may just be an optical illusion due to distance compression.

My advice is to walk up the beach, less kids, more chairs. Enjoy!

Thanks for the advice!

I'll chime in on the non-issue of serenity bay and the family beach boundary. If you think you're going to be bothered just pick a spot on serenity bay further away from there. Its a very long beach with beautiful sand and amenities all along the way.
