Snow?????

Brrrrrr..............

How do you know it's cold in Tampa? DH turns on HIS side of the electric blanket, and turns on the heater in the house. :lmao:

We put tile in this summer in the whole house, except the bedrooms, and boy.....this house is COLD!

I know it's all relative.......but a high of 64 IS chilly for us.

Funny, when we lived in Pittsburgh, 5 years ago, we wore SHORTS when it hit 60!!!!! :rotfl:

Happy Friday to all! No school for us today....it's "fair day"

:welcome: Mike and Lisa!!!

Welcome Mike and Lisa - as well. "puter is very slow today so I am not sure I will be able to check on all the posts since yesterday!!! But welcome guys!

Fran...they SELL electric blankets in Florida? That should be a crime. If I moved down to FL, I would not want to SEE an electric blanket. But, my parents lived there and I guess after a few years, your blood gets thin and you start to get cold at 64 degrees. Too funny.

Hi Susan,

That is the time that we will be going too!! :cool1: It will be my DD and I on this tour. It looks like it very well could be a all DIS tour because I don't think they take very large groups. It looks like the USAF will be well represented too..as I am Retired USAF. We look forward to meeting everyone :teeth:

Mike :earsboy:

Sam and I are game to, but I need to book. My friend's computer is slow slow I cannot search the trhead - can someone PM me with the phone number of the excursion tour agent and we will call today. Thanks...If I can get the laptop updated, then I can review posts easier.

Shocking as it may sound.......but, yes, they do! Good thing for DH, or else Kelly and I would have turned the heater on in December! :lmao:

Hi, Mike. We've booked with David and Ivan, also, but we are doing the Mayan Experience that includes the ruins tour and then lunch with a local family at the Mayan village. It took awhile to hear back from Ivan, and when I did he had us listed for Thurs., Dec. 29th! I e-mailed him back on Jan. 30th for a confirmation of the correct date and have not heard back. I guess I'll try to get a confirmation in the next couple of months. I imagine they are busy with all of the rave reviews they have been getting.

It's Friday and that means it's Kareoke time!!!

Mac the Knife....

Oh, the shark has pretty teeth dear
And he shows ’em, pearly white
Just a jack knife has macheath dear
And he keeps it way out of sight...

Sorry, couldn't resist.... :rotfl2:

OK, I got one. It's really for tomorrow here in NY, but it will work...

Oh the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

It doesn't show signs of stopping
And i brought some corn for popping
The lights are turned way down low
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

How's that?

I have a Mom brag moment. I'm so proud of our "big" girl Emily. I read to her class this morning then had lunch with her. When her teacher came to get her class, Emily said "Thank you for being mystery reader today Mommy." Her teacher said that Emily is the most polite and has the best manners in her class. The other day when it snowed the teacher took them out to play at time that was not their normal play time. Her teacher said that Emily was the only one that thanked her. She said that Emily is genuine when she does it. She also said that Emily is very smart (YEAH! :thumbsup2 ) and that she still can't believe that she was only 4 when she started kindergarten. That makes a parent very proud!!!

I better take these moments when I can ... 'cause I don't think we're going to get the praises on the other one.

Speaking from a parent whose son got in trouble in the lunch room this week for filling his milk carton full of food and "somehow" it wound up in front of another child to tried to drink it...and he has not made one week this entire year without a conduct mark...

When you do get praises, you learn to appreciate them a whole lot more...(His teachers last year STILL think he's absolutely wonderful and continue to sing his praises...Just wish it would be loud enough for his current teachers to hear)

(For the record, he's deserved every single conduct mark he's received...not faulting the teachers - I just hope they'll see beyond the "bright, energetic, boy who needs to focus his energies on his school work and not getting into trouble" and see the kid who is getting all A's)

Sometimes those smart ones use their creative energies for thinking of better pranks. Which could mean that he's not engaged enough in his schoolwork, ie "not being challenged". I think you should toss that on the table at his next conference.

Angie, it is nice to have one that doesn't make you want to tear your hair out! She sounds like a doll. We only have one, and she has managed to be a bit of both.

Went to an estate sale this morning, bought some things. But nothing I'm excited about. A new trend, I was shopping with DD in mind. She now loves vintage clothing and jewelry. This is not good, since I am supposed to be buying things I can sell and make money on.

Diana, when you say you buy vintage clothing & jewelry ... how old is it? Just curious.

Ang

Angie, anything before 1980 is considered vintage clothing. Actually, some people sell the more distinctive 80s stuff too. I have bought a few very 80s prom dresses, sold less because Alicia steals them. But in jewelry, I look for rhinestone etc. pieces from the 50s. That's my favorite era to find vintage clothing in too.
