Bet my mom has vintage stuff in her closet!!! She probably even has our old prom dresses, knowing her. Can't believe 80s is vintage ... makes me feel old!

Hey Diana, Do you want my god-awful ugly prom dress (I didn't like it then either but, my mom made me buy it on clearance) from 1984... :lmao:

I bet I could scare up a few more bridesmaids dresses the late 80s to early 90s...key word - SCARE!!!!

Hey does 1500 count as a milestone post?

If so, it's with Diana, Angie and my ugly prom and bridesmaids dresses... :lmao:

picked the kids up from school and we went and saw an early show of The Pink Panther...Cute, but not as hysterically funny as the other patrons found it. probably because I had my mind made up that Steve Martin wasn't going to be as good as the Peter Sellers - The kids loved the slap-stick - What 11 year old boy isn't into silly sight gags and bathroom humor...

I'm still holding out to see Nanny McPhee - I might have to induldge in a school-day movie next week since the kids don't seem too interested in seeing it.

The weather is supposed to be cold her tomorrow. If we can get our act together, we'll take the girls to see Curious George.

Kt and Nick saw it today with my parents while Mike and I went to the vascular surgeon's office. They said it was good. But KT said they set it up to allow for lots of sequels. ;)

Going to watch some opening ceremonies. Busy day, I'm about ready to crash....

I haven't taken the kids to a movie for a while, will have to see if we have time this weekend, we are kid free at the moment and the house is very quiet without them, we went for dinner and just got back and I'm going to get the laptop and what some olympics.

That's exactly what I'm doing. Sittin with my laptop, watching the athletes waking in. My eyes are getting heavy though. Getting closer to beddy by time.

Thanks for the offer, Monica. It might not be as bad as you think, at least in the eyes of a current teen, but I have no problem finding those around here. LOL Now, if your prom dress were from 1954, I'd take it in a heartbeat!

Stace - We would love to do this excursion, but I have a 6 year old that's a little afraid of the water. Would you suggest it? If he could wear a life jacket or something like that, I think he would do it. Could you tell me a little more about it? Could you stay on the Catamaran if you wanted to? Are you held up by the salt water? Thanks for your help.

Sorry....I was pretty much gone all day. Finally got caught up on the reading...
I see you worked this out, doing the stingrays first..but I was going to ask if you think he'd at least like the ride on the catamaran? If you think he would, then do it. You don't have to get in the water. In fact, my Jordan may not get in, she thinks a fish is going to eat her. They will have life jackets and we'll all have to wear them, plus, you're right, we're all more bouyant in the salt water. Heck, I couldn't sink if I TRIED!

From what I've read, we ride the Cat out for about a half hour/40 mins.....snorkel, back on the Cat for snacks, and head back. The minimum age is 5....but I read that sometimes the water can be choppy...so it probably isn't the best way for someone to learn.

The snorkeling area at Castaway Cay is shallow enough throughout most of it, that you could stand up if you wanted to. Unfortunately, too many people do, and they kick up a lot of sand. You're better off being the first ones out there. But it's a great place for a little one to practice. There's no charge to snorkel there, unless they have a deposit for the required vests.

All this stuff y'all are mentioning- is most of it things you are booking thru DCL? And if so, can you cancel at a later date or stuck with it soon as you book it?

Sounds like we might not be doing enough? LOL I dunno...
So far all we've decided on is not much and most of it is up in the air! The only thing "concrete" is the scuba dive Jeff will be doing with WDWgoose & son (anyone else? beuller? bueller?) --- the only other thing we want to do at Cozumel is the dolphin stuff and not sure we'll be able to. Costa Maya I hope we get to do the Mayan Experience as it's the only thing that sounds great to us (and I told DH about it and he thought it would be great too!)

(some other alternative options I'm looking at is:
Atlantis submarine expedition at Cozumel if we can't do the dolphin thing...
Catamaran sail and snorkel & horseback adventure at Costa Maya if we can't do the Mayan Experience....
Glass bottom boat scenic voyage at CC...
What are your thoughts on these? And do you think we should book those things- especially at cozumel and costa maya just in case we can't do the other things planned/hoped for??? That's why I asked if we booked them, if we could cancel them at a later date- like if we get confirmation of Mayan Experience and if we are able to do the dolphin stuff by the time of our cruise?)

CC we were just going to see how things go. But now I'm thinking we should book things now? We were thinking of renting snorkeling stuff (for 2 and take turns- since one parent/one child is better for us than 2 adults trying to keep up with 3 kids snorkeling all at once). We figured CC would be our "beach" days... we're not all THAT big into "beach" time but we'd enjoy it a little and we figured what better place than CC. But you think we should book other things? Problem being with youngest still 5 at that time... not much we can book with her. (and it is not an option for us to leave her with club on the beach and go off the other 4 of us to do something. That's not cool! In our opinion anyway LOL)

Stressing stressing... it's getting that time to book stuff eh? LOL

PS. when we look at our reservations online it says late dining seating 8:30pm even though we're linked with everyone else for late dining -- right?

Bumping my questions! :)

OH and also... can you book for 5 people on ONE reservation when you have 2 staterooms therefore 2 reservation #'s- each with 2 or 3 people registered in the room? Or do you have to reserve the excursions on each registration # only for the amount of people registered in that room- then rush to the other registration # and hope you can get the same excursions for the people registered in that stateroom?

Where do you snorkle at CC without doing an excursion, DS is still not a strong enough swimmer so we wanted to let him practice snorkeling where he can feel comfortable and not far from the beach. He has practiced in the pool and I have a wetsuit kinda float for him, he just doesn't have the body strenth.

See my post above! :sunny:

Someone else asked me something, but now I can't find the post...if I missed something, let me know.

BBB.....we've never done the online booking, so I had the same questions you did. I guess I'll just muddle my way through it, and if it gets too frustrating, I'll do it the old fashioned way, and CALL! :thumbsup2

Okay. I thought some of those on this cruise had probably cruised recently and did the online booking thing. I'm a bit confused because I can't find a way to "link" both reservations/staterooms for our family- so who knows how I'll be able to do the excursions and such. We're SUPPOSED to be able to do it in the morning (because of REAS)-we'll see! LOL

I think we have until the day or two before we sail to cancel excursions without being charged for them....or maybe it was the week before.

It sounds like almost all of us are using DCL's excursions...it's a whole lot safer that way. If we're late returning to the ship, at least we know they won't leave without us!

The dinner time online won't change. They don't list the staggered times in your reservations, just the 8:30 time that has always been DCL's "late" time.

When we've traveled with family, I've been able to book everyone's excursions. If I were you, I would pull up the reservation that has your name on it, find the spot for the 1st excusion you want, and when it asks you how many people enter "5". The computer should know automatically that you're booking for your entire family. When I have called before, I just told them "four" and they said "Everyone in your party?" and when I said "Two" they would ask "Which two?" except for Palo, and then they knew it was just Jay and I.

I just saw this in another thread about launches for 2006....sorry if it has already been posted..
May 26: A Delta 4-Heavy rocket, the second to fly, is slated to loft the Defense Support Program-23 (DSP-23) missile warning satellite in a launch to be staged from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida

Id love to do this but Nate is only 3
