If you figure that you are watching it commercial free, it should come down to 16.8 hours... add in a pee-break once every 4 hours, and you'll be by 9AM tomorrow.

Great minds think alike....
gotta check my math...
24 hrs * 60 minutes =1440 minutes.
20 minutes of commercials per episode * 24 = 480 minutes
1440 minutes - 480 minutes = 960 minutes
960 minutes / 60 minutes per hour = 16 hours even.

Where did your .8 come in?

AND....if you watch them back to back to back, you can skip the 2 minute "Previously on 24" part....thus saving you 2 minutes per episode after episode 1...therefore saving an additional 46 minutes! You are down to 15 hours, 14 minutes. VERY doable!

Nope... he gets the inside, I get the outside. Spray cleaner and a paper towel once a week, and it looks beautiful.

While he was out, he bought a dishwasher, too... we've hated the one in our house since we moved in. (It's the same model that we've had in our previous 2 houses as well... and those were promptly replaced also... why does every contractor in the world install the same crappy dishwasher that puts more food ON the plates than it takes off.)
Cuz they're cheap!!!!

I was thinking 18 minutes of commercials per episode... back when I was a marketing student (in the dark ages...) 18 minutes was standard... but it is more like 20 minutes now.

But yes, great minds DO think alike... it has to do with the first name!!

Yes, I know... it was a rhetorical question HH... but I'm sure YOU wouldn't put that piece of crap in anyone's house, now WOULD YOU???

Of course NOT!!

The main difference between builders and remodelers, is that remodeler do what YOU want. The builders do what they want, ie; cheaper!! But you knew that.....

AH...Ok....maybe it is only 18 minutes still. I just always think "about 20 minutes of commercials."

btw, did they HAVE TV in the dark ages?

It is cold - ok chilly this morning - brr. Must drag out a sweater or a sweatshirt (we don't own coats in S. Florida).

Anyway, four straight days of driving and I am beat. I think everyone is working at double and triple pase to catch up before the Christmas Holidays.

I almost forgo the small tree to take to WDW. It is very samll, about 12 inches and stained glass. A friend gave it to me a while back and it is perfect for the hotel table top. I think we may be going earlier than in past years, but tradition is, after all, tradition.

We hope to see Wishes from the Grand Floridian tonight - it is so pretty. We are dining at N--- (since I cannot spell it, I will not even try).

Yup, I understand the "Even" thing. (sigh)

I was going to say "save it until her birthday" until I read the rest of your post at which point I totally agree with you....that's something I would do.

In fact, I just did. There was a Disney pin Nick wanted. It was no longer made, but I found it in a lot on ebay. So I bought it. Nick knew I did. Well, I put them away for Christmas. This was 8 weeks ago. Today he said "hey, that ebay seller never sent you those pins you won." Now I have no idea where they even are!!!!! (sigh again)

I know - they are with the Christmas stamps I purchased for the cards......yup, I'll let you know if they show up. :rotfl2:

That is absolutely true about the tea! LOL When we go visiting my family in Colorado, Steve can not quite wrap his miind around the fact, that not only do regular restaurants not HAVE sweet tea, but BK and MCds do not have it either! THe nerve of them! LOL It also confuses him that FLA does not have sweet tea either. He think that is as south as you can get, yet you cant get sweet tea. At least not once we hit hit the fla state line on I 75 S.

You did not go far enough south or west then..... - we have "sweet tea" here - My first job was as a waitress for a soda fountain in a drug store (ok, just that looooong ago), and I had to make sweet tea.....We made it with simple syrup, boil sugar and water together into a slurry (blah) and the add hot tea, (blah, blah) and then let it cool.....Way to sweet for my taste.

However, I mix it - 1/2 and 1/2 and it turns out ok.......

Hey everybody. I am here in my hotel in Austin trying to catch up on work emails and thought I would check in. I flew in Yesterday and stayed with my folks last night. My dad looks great. A little weak still, but you can't tell he was seriously ill this time last week in ICU. I am going back up to stay with them on Friday before going home on Saturday. I can't believe I leave for Disney in just over 2 weeks. Time sure has flown by.
Take care everyone,

This is a later reply, I am glad your dad looks great and hope he is getting stronger by the minute. :grouphug:

Was going to suggest Sonic too, but they're only by the panhandle. Wouldn't know about McD's, the only thing I'll have from them is breakfast and I'm strictly a oj person in the am, and havn't been to a BK in Florida.

Now here's a plan; do you know where the outlet mall is along I-4 right across from Downtown Disney? There's a huge catholic church there too. A bit further up the frontage road, past Dolly Parton's dinner show, is a McD's that we have been to before. It is very nice, and has this goregous aquatic theme revolving around turtles going on including a fantastic sculpture in the center of the room. It's always very clean and is usually not crowded. Have breakfast there, and go a teeny bit further to the Publix there and you'll be set. :)

Ture confessions, I am not a shopper - and cannot seem to place the outlet mall, but we know where the shrine is. Is this the McD's that is on Sandlake? that boasts to be the largest? Or is it another? If we take the frontrage road (north east) will we find it? Hedgie will want to see Crush!..

Not as much as you think - I've been looking for an excuse to use my new portable dvr to record off tv, havn't used it for that yet. It should make a computer playable movie out of it. Looks like the next time both shows are on is Sunday.

The two shows are:

Holidays at WDW resort - this one does a lot of going behind the scenes into those fantastic displays at some of the WDW resorts, such as that massive gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian. 1 hr.

Behind the Bash, Disney's 50th - This one covers all the preparations Disney Catering went into a special event at Epcot for the 50th. 1/2 hr.

Gosh, I'd love the holidays at WDW to play for Mother on Christmas since she cannot get up there with us anymore. And cont me in to help you with your "excuses" anytime.

I need to vent about work!!! Why did I decide to go back before the end of the year????!!! It's always a crazy time of the year. On Tues. my manager informed me that I would be sitting in on a daily status call with a client ... not a problem ... I can do that. The guy that is actually doing the work should NEVER be allowed to talk to clients ... does good work but doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut! Well late yesterday my manager sends an email saying that this co-worker will be on vacation next week & I'll be doing any coding/clean-up work that needs to be done in his abscence. Well, today I talk to this co-worker and asked him where he is on the list of things to be done. He hasn't started! I have a feeling that it's going to be rough week next week. I'm not looking forward to this.Ang

Vent - vent - vent - yucky - yucky - yucky - but - think CRUISE....it pays for the Cruise.....then smile, it will drive your co-worker crazy as you are smiling through all the stress.... :wave2:

I am helping my sister pack for her move to Pa. I came across a green folder from the US Army. I opened it thinking it was recruiting stuff for the nieces. It was a commendation for my BIL. He was a communications something for the Army in Viet Nam. BIL never talks about his time in the service and we don't push him. Anyway this commendation lead to a medal that was not with the certificate. I asked my sis about it and she said John would be very upset to know I had read it. Kinda neat my BIL is a silent hero from an almost forgotten era.

Sue

Thank you for sharing....and we all thank your BIL and all those who served. It was a difficult time, so we must honour his silence.

And tanks too.....I have shorter tanks, 'cause I hate bumping my head and not being able to turn since the tank is so tall (or I am so short? No tank is so tall). Sam's tanks are larger because (what did you call it), he sucks air.

So now I need the bottom time worthy of this most wonderful gear....what a super surprise for Christmas.

We are going to explore advaced open water dive certification after Christmas.
