Sharon and I will be glad to come over and share the excitement with you and everyone else in your house during your Christmas party! :rotfl: (we are still checking our schedules)

SHHHHH... the kids still won't know yet!!!!!

I am 100% amazed that I have kept my big mouth shut for over a year on this one!!!! On Christmas Day, sometime around 7AM, I'm sure you'll hear the screaming coming from down the road...

Hope you can make it on the 10th... I know how schedules go...

Woo hoo... a TOP shared with the guy who wants to ruin my surprise! (Now where's that stick poking smiley when I need it...)

Since you are closer, could you give him a couple jabs for me, just for good measure?

What make and model is your digital camera??

It's a SeaLife, but it isn't digital.....I told Irene that I waste off a ton of film!!
SeaLife Reefmaster....have the strobe and close-up lens, those help a lot.

No, the other one. The topside camera. Isn't a Canon?

Never mind, I figured it out;

Camera make: Canon
Camera model: Canon PowerShot Pro1

Ikelite makes a nice housing for that camera!!

Ahhh, the famous Christmas letter that I swore I would never write! After years of cramping hands, I gave in to temptation about 6 years ago. I don't even try to out-do some of our friends. Mine are along the lines of : The kids are busy doing what normal kids do, driving us nuts.
I am doing what normal Moms do...work, run after the kids, sleep, start all over again.
Jay is busy doing what normal Dads do....work, watch TV, sleep, start all over again.
And we took a cruise or two this year. .

ohh - I like that - can I swipe it? I try hard not to brag and have the right amount of humor, self-deprecation, and sarcasm to make it fun...

Actually that is not terrible. The DSLR housings start at $1200 and go up, and up, and up!! :earseek:

Those Ikelite housings are really nice. Very heavy duty and you control all the cameras functions.

Which is why I bought another camera for the housing that I have. Housing prices can be more than the camera.

All that for a picture of a fish butt! :rotfl:

Yes it is terrible. It might not be as expensive as another housing, but it is still terrible especially when the pictures stay in the computer.

Someday I really should print some of the pictures out.

Jim, gotta say I agree on that one. Kevin comes home from a trip and I ask "so where are the people pictures?" After a few years, he won't remember where he saw "that fish". But it would be nice to say, oh, there's Alicia on the dive boat in Cozumel when she was 12! We don't have that picture. I don't go, so I don't get a say so.

But yeah, the camera housings are ridiculous. Alicia inherited the "old" camera and housing, but I don't think she's terribly interested. She's more into the whole weightlessness, floating along thing. If you're busy taking pictures, it's hard to look around! So I'm using the camera right now for Ebay. Mine seems to be on vacation.

I can control of the functions on mine - and it was $175..... I know that these are very good housings - just caught me off guard there...

See... more love... you're getting it from all sides today. Guess it's your turn. I'm sure your reindeer-antlered dog still loves you... oh wait... Molly... maybe not.

Mary - and Diana --- neat WDW Christmas tips - thanks.

Jim - HAH - Christmas in June - I like it.

Sandi - so glad you posted the link to the house. I had it e-mailed to me, but without the link so I could not pass it along. Do they have too much time on their hands or what.

Angie - how about I send your letter and you send mine and we will see if anyone notices? Good luck with your brace.

Monica - pictures - I'll drag out the ole tripod and experiment. I like the recipe for a good year.....Now - how do I insert pictures.

March of the Penguins - not sure who started this but it is now on my gift list for Mother. But now I see that it is sad, and has nasty bits. Mark - help....good gift or not?

Kevin - digital - No - don't make me, I don't want to......but thanks for the tips. I will start practicing with non-movable flower pots in the pool.....I still cannot understand the viewfinder - that statute of Mickey did not move.....Stace - that is one of my questions. I want to shoot with the viewfinder and without it and then compare what the result is....(no, not my thumb!) Stace - I am with you - FILM! I think mine is Reefmaster - with a close-up lense and attached light - perhaps a strobe. Me thinks she needs to work with her equipment a wee bit more.

Buddy - I have heard of him.....

Amanda - where are you - I have had a bad day - so you told me to vent with Disfriends - "vent - vent - vent - vent". OK, better now.

:lovestruc :lovestruc Adding more love to the boards..... :lovestruc :lovestruc

that sounds like letter material to me - short sweet and to the point - type it up on an index card with a cute graphic and then you're done...

" 2005 - We're fine - Mom's fine -; Easter - Fine; Birthdays - Fun; Work - same; Food and Wine at WDW - Fun" - quirky and I bet you'll get great comments from the receipients...
...

Recipe for a Happy Year (This one is for 2005)

Ingredients:

One Couple - Irene and Sam
One Mother - Gladys
One Hedgehog - Hedgie
Work - much the same
Holidays
Vacations
Hurricanes
Chores

Directions

Mix together happy holidays, such as Easter, Birthdays, Thanksgiving. Add a small amount of work, being careful not to include the grumpy days, and household chores. Break open the hurricane carefully, so as not to drop any of the mixture on the Mother. (When I made this recipe, it mostly landed on the couple).

Divide mixture, to the couple and hedgehog, stir in one Food and Wine celebration at Epcot and one 7 night Eastern Cruise on the Disney Magic to St. Maarten, St. Thomas and Castaway Cay, and add smiles to taste. To the Mother, add another year of good memories.

Makes one year!

We used to watch critter cam on ?animal planet....maybe national geographic...can't remember. we were all excited when we saw they were going to "cam up a penguin"....watched it...same thing. Penguin death. hords of enguins trapped in a shifting ice berg--all died. Nick sat there, mouth gaping, near tears. He was furious that the CAMERA MAN didn't help the penguins...after all, he SAW they were trapped! :)

May have to get it from Netflix for the extras. Thanks!

Hmm.. maybe not, same exact critter cam segment with the penguins getting stuck in the crevasse at the end. :(

I would say this about it, yes it does have a few sad parts, but the good far outweighs those parts to me.

But remember this is a National Geographic film, they tend to be a lot more towards being realistic.

To outright spoil it, there's one scene where the penguins carrying their egg manage to not be able to carry it and it freezes, so you see a few frozen eggs. The same happens again with the young during a real bad blizzard a few do get separated and freeze. And the third and last time a bird of some kind comes in to snag a young one.

It's life for the animals, but there are so many good scenes of how much effort they put into coming together and raising a chick, it is a very moving film and I highly recommend it.

Off to go straighten the house some ... maid is coming tomorrow. Someone PLEASE remind me why I have a maid????
