The thing is....when you put up outdoor lights, it benefits the NEIGHBORS who look out their window and see YOUR house.....

So we don't do outdoor lights. We let the neighbors do it so it benefits US! :)

I agree!!! Miracles still do happen. :rotfl:

Diana,
Ebay help, if you don't mind....
I just listed something...
but I cannot find it anywhere in any search. I spelled it right. It shows up ONLY in My Ebay. It doesn't even show up if you look for my username and then click "view items for sale." I have two things listed...only ONE shows up. No matter which way I search (by seller, by title, by description, newly listed, ending soonest, etc) my item doesn't show up anywhere except My Ebay. Weird. I was charged to insert it. So between that and the My Ebay listing, I know it *exists*...

any ideas?

Don't know about that one. Could be an Ebay glitch, it happens. Can you PM the title to me, and I'll search for it?

It just now hit me...right before I signed back on, that that was probably what he meant! I'm running a little slow today........
It made me think of Alicia's penguin that she had in her siggy....too funny.

This one.

Today - yet another day on the road. .....Last night was another late night....Tonight as well.

No progress on Christmas --- cards, presents - decorations - still waiting to be completed. If Sam drives to WDW, I can write the cards in the car on the way to/from. Still cannot decide on whether to enclose a "letter". Last year, I waited until the end of January and sent a trip report of our first cruise to a limited number of friends and family, complete with photos. Perhaps I may do the same this year and focus on a few lines inside the card. Besides our November cruise, what is there to say - We are fine, Mother is fine, we had a hurricane, that was not fine, we had birthdays, they were fine, Easter, Thanksgiving, all good fun. Work is much the same. Food and Wine at WDW was fun. We took up scuba (no - cannot say that 'cause I haven't told Mother yet?) Meet a great group of folks on the net....Doesn't sound like letter material to me.

My first roll of underwater shots is very disappointing. Needless to say, I will not be posting any soon. The sports viewfinder on the camera is deceiving. What you see is not what you get - so to speak. Thus, I will be conducting remedial photography in the pool - at least the objects will not be swimming away while I am trying to learn. Will see.....

Now let's see what you all were up to last night.

Later..... :wave2:

The penquin march was just too funny.

DISNEY QUESTION -

Anyone been to WDW yet for Christmas? Anything new that is a not to be missed item. We have Candlelight booked for Saturday evening - This is only our third year and we love the presentation. We are opting not to go to Mickeys VMCP. We tried last year, it was cute, but when one of us is up at 3:00 am, it makes it much too late a night to enjoy it. We saw the Osburn lights only once, the last year they did them on the backyard lot - it was extravagant -- a wee bit over the top I might say -- glad they were not in my neighborhood. One year we followed all the storeytellers - that was fun.

Suggestions?

Good morning cruisers!

Happy Wednesday!

Irene - the two things that we love that I didn't see listed by you are:

a) watch the Lights of Winter go through its entire set at Epcot. This is the giant arch that is between World Showcase and Future World. The lights and music are all coordinated.

b) visit the resorts and see all the candy/gingerbread creations. Like the giant gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian or the Merry Go Round at the Beach Club. Not to mention all the trees and their decorations.

You can wait until June and send them out after our May cruise! :rotfl:

Good Morning All - I am glad you are talking about WDW at Christmas. Nick and Emmy, with their parents, are there now. It is almost like I am there with them. I used to go every year just b4 the holidays THEN I found DCL!

Good morning and happy hump day. The only decorating that we do is to put up the tree. I didn't even put out my giant wreath this year. Check out this, though. Wouldn't want to have them as neighbors!

http://www.lookatentertainment.com/v/v-1810.htm

This guy has synchronized his light display to music, and he broadcasts the music over a low-frequency FM transmitter. So cars driving by can turn their dial to a certain frequency and listen as the display goes. This was his 2004 display. They stopped so much traffic and caused problems that he had to move it out to a farm this year.

Good morning all! Happy Hump Day!

Irene, you sound like me with the Christmas card/letter thing. I composed a letter but am not sure if I'll send it out. Our lives are pretty boring! Besides, I uninstalled our printer yesterday and now can't get the darn thing installed again! UGH!!!

I have an appt. to get a new back brace today. The new one was custom fit to my body so hopefully it'll do the trick for the next 6 weeks.

I can see how that would cause a traffic problem! Nice but obnoxious at the same time.

It's not that I don't like outdoor lights.....I just don't like the hassle. To me they are not worth the effort. I would rather put the effort somewhere else, like editing my cruise pictures. :teeth:

Same here - I don't mind putting up decorations - it's the taking down and putting away that I never like - I get plenty of help putting up - it's the taking down time when everyone disappears...

Never liked putting up outdoor decorations when we lived in Chicago - putting up wasn't so bad - taking down in frigid January was miserable... :cold:

So are we posting pictures of our outside decorations? Here is my two cents.

We normally go overboard, but no plastic blow up snowmen. Only the normal tacky plastic yard art that is at least 15 years old. With lots and lots and lots of lights. We have the "blue section" for the Toy Soldiers, the Green and white around the house, with the white icicle lights. The red and white down the west side and up the palm trees and lamppost and reindeer by the door. Green and white on the mailbox. And then we mail FPL our paycheck. Ond somewhere we have a santa and snowman

This year, due to the storm and lack of vegetation to hang lights on, we opted (ok, I opted) for green and white only, with the icicles around the roof and a simple string of green. I added white stars to the front path, put a 3 foot lite snoman by the front door (behind the hedge, I might add) and decorated the lampost with green and white lights. I think it looks pretty.

Some other neighbors had less vegetation damage and they have gone all out. One has white candles in the window. They look nice. Would not survive the "cat" factor in our home.

Of course, we now have been granted the elusive roofing permit so I guess we (sorry Sam) will now need to take them all down. Oh yes, that will be fun and of course, I will want them all up again before Christmas.

And why do we put up icile lights in Florida anyway? They do look pretty reflecting in the pool.

Pictures, please!!!!!

I found the seller message boards late last night. Asked them. They said sometimes when ebay is swamped it will take a while for the things to show up in search (sometimes up to 8 hours) all is good now....I checked this am and it's there. Found myself a coupld extra Nintendo DS pinks! Hard decision....sell now and make *some* money or wait and maybe make *lots* of money or, possibly *no* money. :)

Thanks for the offer to check it out!

Nick LOVES....I mean LOVES Penguins. We went to see that movie at the theater....YIKES! A bit too much penguin death for him. Now that it's out on DVD I asked if he wanted it and he said "no, it's too sad." :( :( :(
