We have taken that before too!

Funny story; I got it for the first time and I swore it was the chewable type..

Nope, it wasn't!! :earseek: Just like eating an Alka-Seltzer......... yeeewwww!!! :confused3 Kind of reminded me of someone with "mad cow disease".

This story gets worse, he told Alicia and I that they were chewable. She won't go near the stuff now.

There's some stuff with a really long name that is supposed to help if you're getting the flu. But I don't know about colds.

Yep, probably won't do much for a cold... unless you've got that 'barking cough'.

Maybe OM is thinking of echinacea??

Cold eeze is one of the most disgusting things I've ever tasted!!!! I think I'd rather have the cold.... at least that way, I can take Ny-quil and go to my happy place.

Was Stacey thinking of Zicam?

Kevin, I want to do the opposite - I want "no e-mail notification" - and nothing is checked, but I still get the e-mail notification.....How do I eliminate this? Thanks...

EXACTLY what I was getting at.

OK... time for my Christmas pet peeve... (and I apologize in advance to those of you who disagree...)

Can somebody tell me WHEN it became an yuletide tradition to fill one's yard with large, illuminated, ugly, inflatable things???? I've decided that I really miss the traditional white lights & candles in every window that was the norm in the neighborhood that I lived in before moving to FL...

No debate here...

It's just not for Christmas - one of our neighboring houses had an inflatable turkey on their roof - a bunny at Easter and Uncle Sam at 4th of July, then there was all the halloween inflatables...They keep multiplying...not, my idea of holiday decorations. Although, we don't decorate much outside - just put together luminaries for Christmas Eve...

I haven't quite disappeared, just lurking the past week with the kids off from school...It's amazing how much more productive I was when I wasn't dis'ing...oh well...

Guess my name will have to be removed from the "Mom of the Year" contest...we bought tickets for Cats which turns out to be the same night as Mike's school choir Christmas Concert.

1st time we've bought theatre tickets for a school night instead of a weekend matinee - better seats cheaper - and figured the kids last day of school before the holidays is the next day - it would be o.k. to let them stay out late the night before...and now we miss the concert. ..Maybe his choir teacher will let me sit on a rehearsal...

Speaking of the kids' last day of school before the holidays...The 5th graders are going to see "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" on the 17th. The teachers have requested the kids not see it earlier. Guess, I'm gonna have to go while the kids are in school - either that or chaperone the field trip...

Yes, inflatables have taken over our neighborhood for every holiday, too... I guess it just bothers me most at Christmas...

We usually do luminaries for our Christmas party, and again on Christmas Eve... though they DID look better in the snow. (no... I don't want the snow back... Ray went to NH for his class reunion this past weekend... he was greeted by several inches of snow, and temps in the mid-teens... needless to say, he was happy to only spend 2 days there.)

I'd vote for the former, and not the latter... it will be much more enjoyable!!!

I have "Do not subsribe" selected on mine. I don't get the emails.

OK, I gotta ask. I never heard of luminarias being called luminaries. It's a very old Southwestern tradition, how did the name get changed? We usually put out luminarias when we are at home as well. Kevin's parents live in one of the neighborhoods where everyone does it, and they actually have bus tours driving through the neighborhood.

the name luminaries/luminaria must have been mutated when the yankees got ahold of it... :rotfl:

growing up, my family was the only family on our block to do them - and my dad would do several neighbors driveways, too.

- the tradition here (besides those blow up decorations) is lights strung on PVC pipe around the perimeter...looks nice at night but, weird during the day...never would fly with the snow up north...

:cool1: Just got my notification from the library - Season 3 of 24 is on its way to my branch...I know what I'm doing this weekend... :cool1:
