As far as the blow ups. I personally like them. I think they are cuter than some of the plastic ones that have been around for ages. As with everything moderation is the key. Different strokes for different folks.

I think one in the yard, incorporated into the rest of the decorations, is okay. But one local business has 6 or so of them up. Two of them went flat, and that just looks sad!

The first thing I noticed about the picture of the house decorated, was the Bear. I thought "That's Bear's house!". Then I saw the Grinch, and thought it was MY house....that's when I noticed the big (GASP!) M !!

Yep, probably won't do much for a cold... unless you've got that 'barking cough'.
:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I can take Ny-quil and go to my happy place.
Yep, one of my personal favorites, too!

So are we posting pictures of our outside decorations? Here is my two cents.

We normally go overboard, but no plastic blow up snowmen. Only the normal tacky plastic yard art that is at least 15 years old. With lots and lots and lots of lights. We have the "blue section" for the Toy Soldiers, the Green and white around the house, with the white icicle lights. The red and white down the west side and up the palm trees and lamppost and reindeer by the door. Green and white on the mailbox. And then we mail FPL our paycheck. Ond somewhere we have a santa and snowman

This year, due to the storm and lack of vegetation to hang lights on, we opted (ok, I opted) for green and white only, with the icicles around the roof and a simple string of green. I added white stars to the front path, put a 3 foot lite snoman by the front door (behind the hedge, I might add) and decorated the lampost with green and white lights. I think it looks pretty.

Some other neighbors had less vegetation damage and they have gone all out. One has white candles in the window. They look nice. Would not survive the "cat" factor in our home.

Of course, we now have been granted the elusive roofing permit so I guess we (sorry Sam) will now need to take them all down. Oh yes, that will be fun and of course, I will want them all up again before Christmas.

And why do we put up icile lights in Florida anyway? They do look pretty reflecting in the pool.

We've used those, too...I like the white the best, they look more "real". And I've often thought the same thing, seems kind of silly in Arizona. But then, if we lived where it snowed, we wouldn't need to put up the fake kind!

Our outside decorations consist of our dog wearing some reindeer antlers. That's it, nothing more.

We have been using the Christmas cruise as an excuse not to put up lights. This year we just fessed up that we would rather go to MGM and see their lights than to put up our own.

It's not that I don't like outdoor lights.....I just don't like the hassle. To me they are not worth the effort. I would rather put the effort somewhere else, like editing my cruise pictures. :teeth:

OK, I gotta ask. I never heard of luminarias being called luminaries.

In my case, only since my fingers made the typo... I've always known them as luminarias too...

Exactly, however ... the 6 that are staring in my window from the neighbors yard borders on "inflation intoxication".

My next door neighbor put two in the side yard between theirs and mine, and they have been lying there deflated since the first night they put them in... now THAT's attractive!!!

We have Cold Eeze....I thought that was for if you already have a cold. I'll have to read the box. (it's just easier to ask you guys!)
Jordan had a cold, now Jared has it...I don't want it. I was thinking there was something to take before you get it.....should've gotten the flu shot.....

Don't know if this has been answered yet... it's called Airborne. I have taken it before trips when we flew and not picked up anything, sofar. It's a preventative or when you might be just coming down with something.

We have taken that before too!

Funny story; I got it for the first time and I swore it was the chewable type..

Nope, it wasn't!! :earseek: Just like eating an Alka-Seltzer......... yeeewwww!!! :confused3 Kind of reminded me of someone with "mad cow disease".

KNEW I should have read on first!!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

It's nasty enough in a glass of water, I couldn't ever just outright eat one.:earseek:

I remember when I was a kid....there was a house near us that created their own icicle lights using just a regular strand of lights. Some were longer, some were shorter. Looked really cool. I loved when we drove by that house so I could see their lights. Now so many ppl have the "pre-fab" icicle lights it kinda loses it for me.

The thing is....when you put up outdoor lights, it benefits the NEIGHBORS who look out their window and see YOUR house.....

So we don't do outdoor lights. We let the neighbors do it so it benefits US! :)
