We only had MAYBE 10 trick-or-treaters at our door.

We had ONE!! One lone trick or treater!! Some kid from down the street who walked down with his mom.....who gave each of my kids a bag of candy! So we actually got MORE candy last night than we gave out. Kids went trick or treating Saturday at the inlaws and in ONE hour they were begging to go back b/c their bags were so heavy!!! And it's all good stuff---full sized candy bars, Reese cups, etc!

Jim, looks like we can get another cup of coffee in the morning before boarding. Apparently being first in line means nothing now!! :rolleyes1

Yeah, this stinks. Astronomical prices and now no guarantee of getting on in a timely manner....

what's the point?

spending a week with wonderful DIS'ers, family, the mouse, and kids entertained by CM so we can spend quality time with our spouses, Serenity Beach, Koch coolers..priceless!!!

Besides, once they took out the reservations race and moved kids check in to port...the main reason most of us got to port early...it eliminated most of the early rush...at least for us...I still like getting on board early just for the fun of it...

I was looking forward to jockeying for position with Sharon this year...

One of the main reasons I won't go Southwest is the whole 'group' thing.

The reason I absolutely LOVE Southwest is because the early bird gets the worm. It should be first-come, first-served EVERYWHERE! Ya snooze, ya lose is my mentality. Being 100% "Type-A", I have no tolerance for anyone who is late, and no sympathy, either... hence, I LOVE Southwest!!!!!

(Unfortunately, tomorrrow, I have to fly American for work... I'd rather poke myself in the eye with a sharp stick, but don't have a choice on this one.)

Happy November 1st, everyone!!!

Stacey must be having fun, she hasn't checked in again!

We had exactly three Trick or Treaters last night. One lone teenage girl, a very very cute little fireman (gave him LOTS of candy), and our own daughter with her friend and friend's younger sister. At least they had a kid with them!

Our kitty is not doing well. Some of you may remember, he has a heart problem and has been taking medication for about nine months now. Well, he's not eating. He doesn't seem to be in pain, and I get him to eat a little bit of baby food, but mostly he wants to be wrapped in a blanket and somewhere near me, preferably on my lap. It's making getting work done pretty hard. But he's been the sweetest kitty we've ever had, and given us much joy in his 6 1/2 years. Seems like the least I can do, right? I think a trip to the Vet is out of the question. There's nothing more they can do for him, and he would probably expire right then and there. Nothing he hates more than the Vet.

We had a good time spending the evening with friends at dinner and then a movie. It rained all night, so the kids were thankful they had alternative plans. They didn't even miss trick-or-treating. They were too excited about spending the time with their best buds on a school night - which is rare for both our families.

Maggie brought home pumpkin seeds from school...I do have to admit, with that reminder, I did miss carving pumpkins and roasting the seeds this year. (Didn't miss the mess all over the kitchen... :rotfl: )John always carved elaborate pumpkins. I know he didn't miss the time spent on them; it was always fun to see how they turned out and hear the reactions from trick-or-treaters.

This was the first year since Sam and I moved into our house I did not carve a pumpkin and roast the seeds. guess that means I must do 2 next year.... :teeth:

I've been fairly impressed with with the way Disney handles most crowd situations. You're right about going with the flow! Don't let the little stuff chap ya! This is OUR vacation, RIGHT??
I'm having fun!!

Read through all the posts and concur....We will GET to the port early - check in early and take lots of magic markers with us so that we can print #1 on whatever pass they give us....
Actually, I concur with Mary's assessment......Time will tell.

I love little kitties.....I think he needs lots of snuggles and warm hugs right now. Maybe a little water or milk and then more snuggles in a soft blanket. I love little kitties too.....

No, it's not crewel, it's cross stitch! :rotfl2:

I'm back, Elvis is sleeping. A couple of you might remember, my daughter's dance studio was planning a raffle a while back, and I was going to donate 40 DVC points (enough for five weeknights in a OKW studio in low season) as a prize in the raffle. Several people said they would be willing to buy tickets! So I'm putting everyone on notice, I'll let you know details later. If you're DVC, it would be great if you won, I could just transfer them to you!

I'll buy the winning ticket!!! :rotfl2:
