We did have fun at dinner, talking about this cruise, and all of our old and new friends....the ports...what we'll do at Castaway Cay, TWICE! Jared seemed interested in the stingray swim...Irene, was it worth it?

We'll definitely do the Seahorse Snorkel, if they are still offering it. Except Jordan said again "I'm not getting in the water". Darn those barracuda in Bonaire! I hope she snaps out of this soon, our whole Norwegian cruise (only 33 more days!) is snorkel, snorkel, snorkel. She's gonna get mighty bored sitting in a boat for four days. And on a ship for the other three.

I was getting pretty excited talking about THIS ONE tonight, though. I'm ready. I can't wait for us all to be together!!!

I am so jealous your Christmas shopping is completed.....

Stingray Swim - worth the cost? You will need to make your own determination there. The cost is $35. per person and of that part is a donation to the Conservation fund of the Carribean. Is it worth it- that will be hard to judge - Sam and I are both glad that we did it. From what I have heard, the Disney approach is a bit more controlled than other places. You have seen rays diving, so it will not be new. They are cute and it is fun to try to swim with them. Since we will be at CC twice, you could "budget" the time.

As you can tell, I am not umping up and down, with a don't miss recommendation. But it was fun.

And again - thanks much.....The ship sold the Solarcaine gel, and that is what I have been using, prob. not frequently enough - expect for where the ankles, they are wrapped with second skin....

My first TOP with Mark.

Good Morning Irene - My ex has very fair skin and we never went near a beach in the 15 years we were married. Since we split up I have been beaching or at a pool ever since.

Good morning cruisers! Happy Monday!

Stacey - sorry to hear you had such a bad day. I think your plans are good!
Pam - continued prayers for your Aunt. Hopefully the surgery will help the quality of life if not the quantity.

Mary and my personal choice, and we didn't end up with much color even after 10 days on a cruise is from Coppertone it's called Coppertone Sport, comes in a blue tube, and it really is as waterproof as you can get. I think we had 45 or maybe 50?

I believe we have that. Everyone in our family usually uses Waterbabies spf of 45 I believe. This helps us to maintain our beautiful farmer's tans throughout any length vacation. :)

Oh. And I forgot.

For your discomfort now the best over the counter item is called Solarcaine Aloe Extra Burn Relief. Get the gel, NOT the spray.

I got toasted once and used some sort of spray. It helped a bit, but I was still miserable. Mike said "did you take motrin?" uh....no. So I took 3 motrin (600mg) and was fine 30 minutes later. Didn't even know I had sunburn. Now if I get any sunburn I take motrin. REALLY helps!

But I did learn two things.
1. No matter how "right" I think I am, don't try to prove it by confronting someone. Most people will not admit to being "wrong".
2. Let Jay open and read his sister's mail.

Well, we can be thankful for the learning opportunity. Being a homeschooler, we're always looking for "teachable moments." Seems like you found a couple yesterday!! I give you an A. (Take this post to Chuck E. Cheese and they'll give you three tokens for it!)

Ppl are getting nutty. I actually ended up at the mall twice this weekend and ppl are so focused on what they have to get done they have NO manners! People were RUDE, RUDE, RUDE. (oh, wait...sorry, that was Mike and Kt's experience in Michigan!) :rotfl2:

The gel has .5% Lido in it, instant relief! :) The spray isn't half as effective. Hmm.. never thought to do any internal medicine.. will try that next nasty one.

Speaking of Beer - KikiKaren - I am trying to see the new commercial SNOWBALL - but it won't play on my computer and I missed it on commerical TV - is there a trick to watching it?

Not sure... did you click on the 'preferences' to make sure your settings are correct?

You might have seen that commercial before - its one from last year. (The clydesdales having the snowball fight near the tree...)

Good morning everyone,

We had a very busy weekend over here, too. No swimming or anything like that. Just "house" stuff. I went to a baby shower on Saturday. A neighbor of ours is having her 1st. Wow, all the new things that came out in the last 5 years. Pretty neat, but not neat enough to wanna try anything out. :rotfl2:

Pam - Your Aunt is still in my prayers.

KikiKaren, Jim - are we still on for dinner on December 4th?

I can't stay too long here. I have to paint the windows in my new bedroom. 7 windows and 5 doors. Why didn't I hire someone for this? :confused3 If I want to move into my new bedroom, I better get a move on.

Have a great day everyone!!! Still chilly in NY. Frost on the grass every morning.

TTFN,
Maria

That's alright. Neither did I. Mike had to tell me (in that "don't you know ANYTHING?" voice!) ;)

Motrin....anti-inflammatory....
sunburn....inflammation....

BINGO!

So Advil will work as well - right? That's our drug of choice. :)

OK - and how do you protect your ears, the Coppertone Sport stays on with the snorkel rubbing?

We use Avon's Skin So Soft sunscreen & bug repellant combo usually. The last two trips we've been using a sunscreen that we got from a dive shop, it's supposed to keep the jellyfish from stinging. Can't remember the name right now, it's in the snorkel bag in the garage. Sea Safe, or something like that.
It's stays on pretty well....my ears always end up getting somewhat burned, but not nearly as bad as they could be. I've learned that the hard way, too. And I always wear a long t-shirt (long enough to cover my butt and thighs) because if I don't, that area gets toasted...doesn't feel good AT ALL. I don't look very attractive with all that on, but I don't necessarily care anymore.

BINGO!

We have a radio personality here, a very fair blonde...and she said once that any time she's been out in the sun, the first thing she does (even before she thinks she might have a sunburn) is to take an anti-inflammatory.
She said it works like a charm.
I discovered at WDW that this was the BEST cure for my "old lady leg syndrome".

Maria, sounds like you're really coming along with the house! :cheer2: Whenever I do anything like painting, I always end up thinking the same thing. LOL

They do have a lot of neat new baby stuff, but you are absolutely right...no thanks!

It was 40° outside when I got up, probably a good 5-8° cooler when Jay and the kids left. See....it gets cold here!

Advil, Motrin....yup, all "ibuprophen" products.
Our drug of choice is "member's mark ibuprophen" from Sam's club. :)

Yeah, we have that too....Sea Safe or Safe Sea. I can never remember. That stuff is THICK. Goes on like Desitin. We only use it on the area under our bathing suits and only during baby jellyfish season. Apparently they are worse in the Spring (if I remember correctly)
