the most special place I can think of is "Victoria and Albert's", but it will be very expensive.

What about dinner at the castle during the firework show, it is awsome. You'll need to stop at Contemporary for your champagne toast.

O'hana's is fun - Artiste Point is another favourtie....When is the big event again?

Irene -- V & A is out of the question, too expensive for us, plus I am the only one in the family with children. We will be there December 17-23. The only thing nailed in place right now is the CP on Dec. 22. We will be in a Grand Villa at OKW.

What do yo mean about stopping at the Contemporary??

When I go in and look at the TV, they keep showing that model of how New Orleans could flood. But I'm not sure that happened. Anyone know? I think Katrina has passed NO now.

I don't think there is the extensive flooding that was expected but there is 3' of water in some houses in the New Orleans metro area. Also the downtown area looks a mess - lots of glass and debris everywhere. These are all from news websites. It doesn't look like the Saints will be playing in the Superdome for a while. The Homeland Security director for the NO area is saying that it may be a month before they can restore power to all of NO metro area. The area just to the east of NO sounds like it's a mess ... 12' of water in homes. One of my good friend's inlaws all live there. I haven't been able to get in touch with her. The MS gulf coast sounds like it's a mess too. I'm sure we'll hear more as friends and family return.

We enjoy a toast of Champagne for special occasions and drinks are not served in the Kingdom....so we take the monorail to the Contemporary and relax in the lounge - before heading to the castle for dinner. Not a requirement, but a nice touch for some.

Yes, we saved V&A for our 25th Anniversary, and I mean "saved". I had to place it on the list, as it is 'special.....

I'm not so sure that New Orleans got spared. I've read reports that there is 3' of water on the street at the Superdome and that windows have been blown out at the high rise hotels in the Central Business District.

My parents are still safe. I've tried to get in touch with friends on their cells but am not getting through.

Angie

Thanks for the update...Continued prayers. I have not seen the TV today....dealing with a different type of emergency.

I cannot call or fax any long distance number from the office today. Cell phones work, however.

The latest reports from MSNBC say basically the reason there hasn't been any new info is because every point of access to New Orleans has been swamped. There is serious damage and flooding but they don't have much in the way of substantial reports yet.

Cool!! (Well... maybe not for you- depends how you look at it). Are you still doing Epcot on Sunday, or has your schedule changed? Elizabeth has been meaning to e-mail Taylor, but she has been swamped with school, youth group, and cheerleading.

Ang- beautiful dining room!! I can't wait to get going on our new house decorating! (Guess I've got to actually get in there first!!) Continued prayers for your family and friends in LA. I can't even imagine the mess and destruction. Our annual convention is supposed to be there in March... they are already working on an alternate location just in case convention space and hotel rooms aren't ready. Seeing how bad the hotel situation STILL is here after a Cat 1 or 2 storm, it doesn't look too hopeful.

My post count is going down by the day. Since the accident last week, I have spent just about every waking minute working on the benefit for Matt and his family. I think my constant busy-ness is the only thing that is keeping me sane right now- I haven't stopped to think about how devastated I am by the whole thing. Those of you who are praying... PLEASE continue to do so!! I wish I could just scoop up his 3 yr old son and take him with us to Epcot this weekend... its his birthday... but he's only met me a few times- I'm sure he wouldn't want to spend the day with 'strangers', and doubt his mother would just let him go with us anyway! But wouldn't it be so much fun for him!!!

Angie....I LOVE the pictures! Your rooms look great!! Very nice.

I managed to get to the airport to pick Jim up on time...didn't miss any exits this time. I think now my car is on auto pilot to the airport. We had a nice day....I asked if he'd like to see Cave Creek so we drove up here, went to our shop and had lunch at the Tonto Bar and Grill at Rancho Manana. Shared some bacon wrapped grilled prawns with chipotle sauce and then had salads for our meal. Grilled chicken caesar for me, Chinese calamari for Jim. I had to describe the food, since Jim normally does that! It's a nice place, set on a golf course.
Then Jim had the extreme pleasure( :rolleyes2 ) of picking Jordan up from school with me, and we took Jim to his hotel.
The only time LISA showed up was when some slow driver pulled in front of us....Jim said he has learned to "chill" in the passenger seat, now that Matt is driving! Good thing.

Thanks for all of the wonderful complements about the dining room. As you can all see, we're not afraid of color!

I sound like a broken record ... BUT ... please continue to keep everyone in Katrina's path in your prayers. We've been looking at the pictures of New Orleans and surrounding areas are just sick to our stomachs. I am very fearful that many of our family & friends will not have homes to return to. We haven't been able to see any reports out of Slidell, LA or Diamondhead, MS. From what I read, Slidell is totally devasted. I fear the same for Diamondhead. I remember seeing the destruction from Andrew after it hit LA but didn't personally know anyone that lived in those areas. Now I do and I'm very sad.

The company that I work for just went private so we were forced to sell our stock. My check came in the mail today. DH said that we may need it to help out his family.

Stacey, nice report on the food. Sounds YUMMY!

Stacey - sounds like you and Jim had a fun day. Wow you don't even have to go to Vegas to get men now. They come to you!

Angie they are definately in my prayers. I don't even know anyone down there and I was sick to my stomach about it both yesterday and today.

:rotfl: :rotfl: Even Jay's starting to get suspicious! ;)

Angie, certainly continued prayers! I have family in Florida, so I do know how it is to worry when the storms are so bad.......and please....you do NOT sound like a broken record! We want to know, and we want to be able to help any way that we can....prayer works!

Sounds like a nice afternoon, Stacey! I guess Jay doesn't know Jim all that well, the Scubas weren't at dinner with us on the cruise. Ah well, he'll get to know him better on the next one. And then he'll be REALLY worried! :rotfl2:

Yes, Angie, keep us posted.

Amanda, are you OK? I was seeing a lot of tornado warnings on the Georgia map!

Good Morning All - It is very humbling to see how many people in the South have lost so much.

Sue

:flower1: Good morning cruisers! :flower1:

Happy Tuesday!

Continued prayers for all in the path of the storm and for those who now need to rebuild their lives. Such terrible devistation.
