I used to be afraid of color, but when we remodeled our kitchen, I went with chili pepper red on the walls. DH wasn't too sure at first, but now we both love the boldness of it. I did my exercise room in a pretty bright yellow just a few months ago. That room has 3 double hung windows on the east wall and a picture window with a double hung on each side on the south. It is one of my favorite rooms in my house. It's on the second floor and has a great view of the cornfields.

Hi guys, enjoyed the sharing spaces on today's threads... Folks are so creative. I especially like the newspaper comment.....It covers up all the clutter as well. (Not at my house of course :rotfl2: )

I had to laugh after I logged off earlier....I should never give anyone advice or my opinion on decorating.
My laundry room was supposed to be "Dusty Rose" and it's more like Piglet Pink!!

Will have to find a picture of that!!!

I have been looking at the same one... one wall of our master bedroom in the new house is red/burgundy/or some variation of it... but, until we get in there, I don't want to try to match it from memory... but I DO love that comforter...

Sounds a lot like Elizabeth's bedroom... its supposed to be 'Sunny Yellow"... looks more like PLUTO Yellow (the dog, not the planet). It should just have the word "school bus" stencilied on the wall... I can't WAIT to move out of this house... if only to stop looking at that awful color she chose.

Well, I drove to Montgomery this mornig for a looksee. I wanted to see how the drive was, and I wanted to check out my new work group (if I accepted). It actually ended taking me closer to 2 hours to get there. So, I now know there is no way that I can commute. If I did this, I would have to live in Mont. part time, or the whole family would have to move frown That is not something that we want to do right now. So, it looks like I will be officially declining the job 2mmrw. Thank you so much for all your advice guys. It was nice to read that everyone pretty much felt the same way that I did about commuting. I know my current boss is gonna think Iam a doofus for declining the job, but he has always been the type to go where ever he can advance. He has the luxury of a SAHW. I do not.

Glad to hear that you worked it out with yourself... its one of those things that all the advice in the world isn't going to make the decision for you, but it helps to know that your feelings and the advice 'match' (if that makes sense...)

Harry Potter people...
can you please list the books in order?

We got the first one and I've been reading it to the kids. They can't get enough! Instead of waking up and saying "can we watch a 1/2 hour show?" they say "can you read us Harry Potter while we eat breakfast?" ;)

It'll be time to get the next book very soon....
Thanks in advance!

Nice to see your house is becoming a HP house! Welcome. :rotfl2:

My neighbor Mike asked about our cruise dates today. He is looking for a May 06 cruise and is actually considering ours. I doubt he will do it once he wakes up and remembers there is no casino. At leaset he would not have to send left overs to feed Matt for a week.

Just a caveat, the books mature and darken a bit with the ages of the characters. For instance, when Harry & Co. are 14, they are attending their first dance and worrying about getting dates. It's been perfect for us, the release of the books has corresponded with Alicia's age the last few years. In Order of the Phoenix, Harry was one angry young 15 year old man. So you may want to slow them down a bit as you move along. Just read them yourself first!

What does this mean? Matt is going on our cruise, right?

Ah, good to know. Not sure the kids will let me slow down much. Guess it's good, except for my sore throat from reading out loud so much! :)

Okay...hope this doesn't ruin anyone's appetite....Piglet Pink!

The window looks into our greenhouse...that doesn't have any veges in it right now!
