Hi Stacey! We missed you!

Monica, you're probably gone, but check in if you get the chance. Stay safe!

Haven't heard about the family in TX. I may be helping with gas money to get my brother up north, he never has much. Haven't heard from the stepsons in Houston yet either. They may be busy!

Hope all is well :grouphug: I am sure all are busy and phone lines are also clogged with calls, if history is any example.....

Houston to Albuquerque is quite a haul, I doubt the boys will want to make that drive. He's calling them tonight, finding out where they plan to go. Need to find out about my brother too.

Another :grouphug: for families in the path of the storm....

We have found memories of Galveston from camping past camping trips.....

Godo morning all!

Monica, safe travels to you! Hope Rita loses strength.

Stacey, welcome back! I don't think we had a really busy weekend around here. There was a lot of talk of shrimp though.

Angie

Morning all...

Good luck to you Monica and all in the path of Rita. Seems to be all the "women" hurricanes are the problem this year. If I ever had to evacuate my home, I don't know what I would take first? Besides the legal papers, etc. So many things...

As far as the T-shirts go. I know for a fact that I will collect the money before the cruise. I like the idea of the stamped addressed return envelope. I would LOVE to have them done about 1-2 months before the cruise. That would mean that everyone had theirs before the cruise and we could wear them that day. We'll talk more as the time goes by. I do have the preliminary list of people who requested an interest in the shirts, but we have more people now. I'll post another t-shirt request soon.

Well...the countertop is in. It looks awesome. I stand in there and can hardly believe that that's my kitchen. I can't wait to start cooking and preparing in there. Hopefully by this weekend...keep your fingers crossed. I'm thinking prime rib or pot roast for the first inaugural dinner.

TTFN,
Maria

Take pictures. We want to see the new kitchen.

Monica -- travel prayers for you and your family. I really hope this hurricane slows down some so it won't hit the gulf coast so hard. We are so far west and away from any water, we may just get a little rain here. Prayers for everyone in Rita's path.

What no rock shrimp -- get Jim to have Matt overnight you some :rotfl:

Nice day here today. Hard to imagine having to worry about your home being under water. Rita looks like another big problem, trying to be just like her big sister Katrina.

Maria, I once had a friend tell me that remodeling is like giving birth. Major pain during the process, and you swear you will never do it again. Then when it's finished, you love it so much that you forget all about the pain! Enjoy!

When I was pregnant, we had a hole in our bathroom wall. To the outside, for several days. Couldn't use that bathroom for a while! But now we have a bathroom "suite", and our old closets became part of our nice big bedroom. All thanks to the magic of the contractor fairy. The only thing I remember is the hole.

Hmmm, I don't think he would like being called a fairy. You might not want to do that.

Sure, more than one!!! Just as long as it's not "late for crabcakes" I'll be fine!!

Although maybe Contractor Elf might be more gender correct.

Oh no - the boards are going down for 3 hours tonight. Karen - time to get out the Yahoo group again. :)

Ready when you are:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DISBoardWithdrawl/

Going to post this to my SS Member Cruise friends too....in case some of them are likely to experience extreme withdrawl symptoms!! That should be interesting....getting my two groups of friends together!! :earseek:

Well, of COURSE the Boards are going down! Talk about withdrawal...I finally get home and they want to continue to have me cut off! Help! LOL

Trying to get logged back in on Yahoo.....they said my e-mail address is bouncing, so I am fixing it. Better than having my checks bouncing, I guess!

Here's a picture of my little great-niece, who was just newborn when I was in Omaha in January.....already 8 months old! I could keep this one!

Sorry....that came out a little bigger than I had planned!
